MAINTENANCE AND CARE
To maintain maximum performance from your BENNETT READ AEROVAC vacuum, perform these simple maintenance checks:
EMPTYING THE DIRT CONTAINER
- To remove dirt from the dirt container and filter, hold the vacuum vertically by the handle with the dirt cup facing the floor. Depress and hold the dirt cup release button to release the dirt cup (1).
- Gently pull the dirt cup away from the hand vacuum grip and empty it into a waste container.
- The dirt cup may be rinsed with water and a mild detergent if needed. The dirt cup must be thoroughly dried before replacing.
- Attach dirt cup to vacuum by a depressing release button and securely fitting onto hand vacuum grip. Ensure the dirt cup is completely secured.
CLEANING THE FILTER
The key to maximum performance is a clean filter. Cleaning the filter after each use will help your AEROVAC vacuum operate at peak efficiency.
Use only Bennett Read replacement filters in your AEROVAC vacuum.
- Follow the steps above to remove the dirt cup.
- Remove the filter from the dirt cup by gripping the base and gently pulling it away from the dirt cup opening (2).
- To return the filter back into the dirt cup, simply slot it back into the opening, making sure to line the shape of the filter base with the shape of the opening to fit it in securely.
- Attach dirt cup to vacuum by the depressing latch and securely fitting onto hand vacuum grip. Make sure the dirt cup is correctly secured.
- The filter must be cleaned once a month by washing it gently by hand in warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and make certain it is completely dry before replacing. If the filter is torn, replace it with a new filter.
- The filter must be checked and cleaned if needed after every use by removing all visible dirt and dust from the filter. Tap it against a solid surface to remove any excess dust and dirt. Wash the filter at least once a month as mentioned above.
CAUTION:
Never operate your AEROVAC vacuum without the filter in place. Doing so may
damage the motor and void the guarantee.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts and/or electrical shock, turn
Power Switch OFF and disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet before
