BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE OBSERVED WHEN USING YOUR FORCE 10, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

  • Your FORCE 10 is for household use only
  • Use only indoors on dry surfaces
  • Do not immerse any part of the system in water or any other liquids
  • Do not operate the system if the appliance or any other part of the system has been dropped or damaged
  • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair your FORCE 10. Return the unit for examination and repair
  • Do not use the vacuum to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline and do not use it in areas where they may be present
  • Do not use the vacuum to pick up anything that is burning or smoking such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes
  • Use extra care when cleaning on stairs

  • Take care to not close doors on the electrical cord and do not pull the cord around sharp edges or corners
  • Do not run the vacuum over it’s own electrical cord
  • Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces
  • Turn off all controls before unplugging from the electrical outlet
  • To unplug your FORCE 10, grasp the plug. Do not unplug by pulling on the electrical cord
  • Do not handle the plug or vacuum with wet hands
  • Do not operate your FORCE 10 while barefoot
  • Do not put any objects into the vacuum openings
  • Do not use your FORCE 10 while any opening is blocked
  • Keep your FORCE 10 free of dust, lint, hair or anything else which may reduce airflow
  • Keep your work area well lit
  • Using improper voltage may result in damage to the motor and possible injury to the user. The correct voltage is listed on the rating label. For operation on 220-240V, 50/60Hz power supply only

CAUTION:
Do not plug in your vacuum cleaner until you are familiar with all instructions and operating procedures.

ASSEMBLY

  1. Connect the hose (9) to the vacuum by inserting the hose connector (12) into the suction inlet (13). You will hear a ‘click’ when it is securely in place

  2. Extend the extension wand (3) by pressing down on the button and pulling the bottom part of the wand outwards

  3. Connect the hose handle (8) to the end of the extension wand and twist slightly to tighten

  4. Connect the floor nozzle (1) to the other end of the extension wand and twist slightly to tighten
    Assembly

  5. Once assembled, you can store your vacuum by inserting the storage clip (located on the back of the floor nozzle) into the storage slot (20) on the rear of the vacuum

OPERATIONS

POWER CORD

The power cord (21) is located at the rear of the vacuum. Gently pull out the power cord. Stop pulling the cord when the yellow line is visible. There is also a red line which indicates the end of the usable cord. Do not pull the power cord out beyond the red line.

CAUTION:
The power cord retracts very quickly. Take care to avoid injury.

AUTO-CORD REWIND

Your vacuum is equipped with an automatic cord rewind. When cleaning is finished, press the power button to switch the vacuum OFF and grasp the plug to disconnect from the electrical outlet. Hold the plug and press the auto cord rewind button to rewind the cord automatically.

SPECIAL TOOLS

Your FORCE 10 vacuum is not only a powerful carpet and rug cleaner, it’s also a versatile bare floor and above floor vacuum cleaner when you select one of the special tools.

FLOOR NOZZLE

Use to vacuum carpets, rugs and bare floors. The swivel head turns to get into tight spaces and fits under cabinets

  1. To vacuum carpets and rugs, push the brush switch to the carpet position . This will pull the brushes up into the floor nozzle
  2. To vacuum bare floors, push the brush switch to the bare floor position . This will extend the brushes down from the floor nozzle

DUSTING BRUSH/CREVICE TOOL

Use the dusting brush/crevice tool in narrow spaces.

UPHOLSTERY TOOL

Use the upholstery tool to clean curtains, draperies, cushions and fabrics.

CLIP-ON TOOL HOLDER

The clip-on tool holder provides convenient storage for your dusting brush/crevice tool when clipped onto the extension wand.

AIRFLOW REGULATOR

Open the airflow regulator by sliding the regulator down towards the extension wand to an open position. This will reduce the suction power for vacuuming delicate fabrics. For full suction power, close the air-flow regulator by sliding the regulator up to the closed position.

ELECTRONIC SUCTION CONTROL

Slide the button left to right to adjust the suction power and speed of the motor.

TIP:
Full power is recommended for carpets and floors. Lower the suction power for delicate fabrics and curtains.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

TO MAINTAIN MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE FROM YOUR FORCE 10 VACUUM, PERFORM THESE SIMPLE MAINTENANCE CHECKS:

EMPTYING THE DIRT CONTAINER

Empty the dirt container as soon as the dirt reaches the “FULL” line on the sides of the dirt container.

  1. Unplug the vacuum from the electrical outlet

  2. Remove the hose by pressing the securing clips inward and pulling the hose connector out from the suction inlet. Set the hose aside

  3. Press the dirt container release button (11) and lift up to remove the dirt container

  4. Choose an emptying method (method #2 is recommended for allergy sufferers). Method #1 – Hold the dirt container over a rubbish bin and push the emptying button to open the bottom. Close the bottom after the dirt empties. Method #2 – Place a plastic bag over the bottom of the dirt container. Push the emptying button through the plastic bag to open the bottom. After the dust settles, close the bottom and remove the plastic bag to discard

  5. Replace the dirt container by sliding it back into the vacuum from the top. Then push down gently on the dirt container until it clicks back into place

WARNING:
To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts and/or electrical shock, turn the Power Switch OFF and disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet before performing maintenance checks.

TIP:
Hair, string and small objects can block the hose and tools. Check them occasionally for obstructions.

WARNING:
To avoid injury, turn the vacuum OFF and unplug the cord from the wall when not in use.

MAINTENANCE OF WASHABLE FILTERS

  1. Remove the dirt container by pressing the dirt cup release button (11) and lifting up on the handle

    TIP:
    For maximum cleaning performance, check the filters often and clean or replace if necessary.

  2. Remove the lid of the dirt container by turning anti-clockwise to unlock the tabs

    CAUTION:
    Never operate your FORCE 10 vacuum without all the filters in place. Doing so may damage the motor and void the guarantee.

  3. Lift the dirt container filter set (23) out from above the cyclonic separator. Once the filters have been removed and separated (A and B as per the picture on the right), gently wash them in luke-warm water. A mild detergent may be used. Ensure that the filters are well rinsed and completely dry before reassembling and placing them back into the machine

  4. Remove the pre-motor filter (24) from its housing and gently wash it in luke-warm water with a mild detergent. Ensure that the filter is well rinsed and completely dry before placing it back into the machine

WARNING:
Do not use any appliances such as electric hair dryers, to dry the filters. Filters may only be AIR DRIED.

WARNING:
Never operate your FORCE 10 vacuum with damp or wet filters.

REMOVAL AND MAINTENANCE OF THE CYCLONIC DIRT SEPARATOR

  1. Remove the dirt cup and open the dirt container lid as explained on page 7

  2. Lift the cyclonic separator from the dirt container and gently wash it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Ensure that the separator is well rinsed and completely dry before placing it back into the machine

  3. When replacing the cyclonic separator ensure that the tabs line up correctly. Replace the filter assembly on top of the cyclonic separator. Ensure that the top cover is sealed all around the top of the cyclonic separator. Connect the lid by lining up the tabs and turning clockwise

TIP:
Hair, string and small objects can block the hose and tools. Check the unit occasionally for these obstructions.

TIP:
Before cleaning under low furniture check the area first for objects that might harm the unit or block the hose.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE

CLEANING THE POST-MOTOR MICROPARTICLE FILTER

THE POST-MOTOR FILTER ASSISTS IN THE FILTRATION PROCESS TO RETURN CLEANER AIR INTO THE ROOM

  1. Unplug the vacuum from the electrical outlet

  2. Remove the filter door (located at the back of the vacuum) by pressing the tab and lifting the filter door upwards and away from the vacuum. Take care when removing the filter door

  3. Remove the post-motor filter from the vacuum by grasping the tab and pulling gently outwards

  4. The post-motor filter can be hand washed in cold water with a mild detergent. Rinse well and air dry thoroughly before placing back into the vacuum

  5. Replace the filter door by placing the two tabs on the top of the filter door into the notches on the top of the post-motor filter compartment and push down into the vacuum to lock into place. Ensure that the tabs are properly inserted into the housing BEFORE PRESSING DOWN

NOTICE:
This product is intended for household use only and not for commercial or industrial use. Vacuuming of dust from products like plaster, concrete or ashes will damage the motor and void the guarantee.

WARNING:
Never operate your FORCE 10 vacuum with damp or wet filters, or without all filters in place.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  6. Air-flow regulator is set to open or minimum setting
  7. Blocked dirt container
  8. Electronic suction control set too low

  1. Remove each part and check for blockages
  2. Follow instructions for cleaning filters on pages 8 and 9
  3. Follow instructions for emptying the dirt container on page 7
  4. Check that hose connector is locked into suction inlet
  5. Check hose and replace if necessary
  6. Change to closed or maximum setting
  7. Clear blockage from the dirt container following steps 1 to 7 at the top of this page.
  8. Adjust by sliding left or right to the required suction power

Dust blows out of the air vents|

  1. Dirt container is full
  2. Filters missing or installed incorrectly
  3. Filters are dirty
  4. Hose connector is blocked
  5. Hose connector is not securely attached to the suction inlet

The BENNETT READ FORCE 10 Vacuum has a 12 month product guarantee from Tevo (Pty) Ltd.

Tevo will replace or repair, at Tevo’s option, any defective or malfunctioning part due to manufacturing defect, free of charge from the date of purchase by the original purchaser for one year.

This guarantee applies to product used for personal or domestic use only, and specifically excludes any malfunction or defect arising from commercial use.

This guarantee does not apply to routine maintenance components such as filters and brushes. Damage or malfunction caused by negligence, abuse, neglect, unauthorized repair, or use not in accordance with the user guide is not covered.

Tevo is not liable for incidental or consequential damages of any nature associated with the use of this product. Tevo’s liability will not exceed the purchase price of this product.
