SPECIAL TOOLS
Your BENNETT READ FORCE 8 vacuum is not only a powerful carpet and rug
cleaner, it’s also a versatile bare floor and above floor vacuum cleaner when
you select one of the special tools.
FLOOR NOZZLE
Use to vacuum carpets, rugs and bare floors. The swivel head turns to get into
tight spaces and fits under cabinets
-
To vacuum carpets and rugs, push the brush switch to the carpet position [ ]. This will pull the brushes up into the floor nozzle.
-
To vacuum bare floors, push the brush switch to the bare floor position [ ].
This will extend the brushes down from the floor nozzle.
CREVICE TOOL
Use the crevice tool in narrow spaces.
DUSTING BRUSH
Use the dusting brush to clean curtains, draperies, cushions and fabrics.
TOOL CLIP
The tool clip provides convenient storage for your crevice tool and dusting
brush when clipped onto the extension wand.
TIP:
Before cleaning under low furniture, check area first for objects that might
harm the unit or block the hose.
AIR FLOW REGULATOR
Open the air flow regulator by sliding the regulator down towards the extension
wand to an open position. This will reduce the suction power for vacuuming
delicate fabrics. For full suction power, close the air flow regulator by
sliding the regulator up to the closed position.
TIP:
Hair, string and small objects can block the hose and tools. Check them
occasionally for obstructions.
WARNING:
To avoid injury, turn cleaner OFF and unplug cord from wall when not in use.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
To maintain maximum performance from your BENNETT READ FORCE 8 vacuum, perform these simple maintenance checks:
EMPTYING THE DIRT CONTAINER
Empty the dirt container as soon as the dirt reaches the “FULL” line on the
sides of the dirt container.
-
Unplug the vacuum from the electrical outlet.
-
Remove the hose by pressing the securing clips inward and pulling the hose connector out from the suction inlet. Set the hose aside.
-
Press the dirt container release button under the carry handle and lift up to remove the dirt container.
-
Choose an emptying method. Method #2 is recommended for allergy sufferers. Method #1 – Hold the dirt container over a rubbish bin and push the emptying button to open the bottom. Close the bottom after the dirt empties. Method #2 – Place a plastic bag over the bottom of the dirt container. Push the emptying button through the plastic bag to open the bottom. After the dust settles, close the bottom and remove the plastic bag to discard.
-
Replace the dirt container by placing it back into the vacuum and pushing down on the dirt container until it clicks back into place.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts and/or electrical shock, turn
Power Switch OFF and disconnect plug from electrical outlet before performing
maintenance checks.
CLEANING THE DIRT CONTAINER FILTER
The key to maximum performance is a clean filter. Cleaning the filter after each use will help your FORCE 8 vacuum operate at peak efficiency.
-
Follow the steps 1 to 4 on page 7 to remove and open the dirt container.
-
Unlock the dirt container filter from the vacuum by turning it anticlockwise. Pull the filter straight down to remove it.
-
Remove the dirt container filter screen by grasping the bottom of the filter frame base and pulling the screen straight up. Parts separate by slowly pulling vertically upwards on the filter screen. Do not use excessive force.
-
The dirt container filter screen and dirt container filter can be hand washed in cold water with a mild detergent. Rinse well and air dry thoroughly before placing back together.
-
Attach the dirt container filter screen back onto the dirt container filter by sliding it down over the dirt container filter, making sure that the three tabs on the top of the dirt container filter screen line up with the notches on the dirt container filter.
-
Insert the dirt container filter assembly back into the dirt container by lining up the three tabs on the top of the dirt container filter assembly with the three notches inside the top of the dirt container and turning the dirt container filter assembly clockwise to lock it into place.
WARNING:
Never operate your FORCE 8 vacuum with damp or wet filters.
CAUTION:
Never operate your FORCE 8 vacuum without all the filters in place. Doing so
may damage the motor and void the guarantee.
CLEANING THE POSTMOTOR FILTER
The post-motor filter assists in the filtration process to return cleaner air
into the room
-
Unplug the vacuum from the electrical outlet.
-
Remove the filter door (located at the back of the vacuum) by pushing down on the tab and pulling out and away from the vacuum.
-
Remove the post-motor filter from the vacuum by grasping the two tabs and pulling gently outwards.
-
Separate the post-motor filter from the post-motor filter frame.
-
The post-motor filter can be hand washed in cold water with a mild detergent. Rinse well and air dry thoroughly before placing back into the vacuum.
-
Replace the filter door by placing the two tabs on the bottom of the filter door into the notches on the bottom of the post-motor filter compartment and pushing the tab forward into the vacuum to lock into place.
TIP:
For maximum cleaning performance check the filters often and clean or replace
them regularly.
NOTICE:
This product is intended for household use only and not for commercial or
industrial use.
Vacuuming of dust from products like plaster, concrete or ashes will damage
the motor and void the guarantee.
