Rackmount Installation

To rack-mount the switch in any standard 19-inch wide, 1U high rack:

  1. Place the switch on a hard flat surface with the front panel facing you.
  2. Using the supplied screws, attach rack-mount brackets to either side of the switch and secure tightly.installation 1
  3. After the brackets are attached, use supplied screws to securely attach the brackets to any standard 19-inch rack.

Device Setup

Connect the AC power cord or adapter to the back of the switch and a power source. The green Power LED will blink.
If the Power LED is not on, check that the power cord or power adapter is connected on both ends.

Before using the web-based setup, you must know the IP address of the switch. The switch is an acting DHCP client by default. If there is no DHCP server on your network, the default IP address of the switch is 192.168.1.251/255.255.255.0.

To access the switch’s browser-based setup:

  1. Use Cat5e cables to connect to the switch and your computer to the network

  2. Set up your computer with an IP address if there is no DHCP server on your network.
    Choose a unique (not already in use) IP address in the range of 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.254) and assigned to your computer.

  3. Open a web browser on your computer. Enter the IP address of your switch.

  4. Type in the default username: admin, and password: admin.

  5. Click login to continue.
