USB 3.0 port— Connect and share USB drives on your network. For local
file sharing only (no FTP, media server or virtualUSB support). Also, not
intended for sharing peripherals such as printers, scanners or cameras.
Ethernet ports— Connect ethernet cables to these Gigabit ethernet
(10/100/1000) ports and to other wired devices on your network. If you have
more than one node in your HomeWRK system, use one of these ports to connect
to your modem or modem-router.
Note— For best performance, use a CAT5e or higher rated cable on the
Ethernet port.
Internet port— Connect an ethernet cable to the yellow gigabit
(10/100/1000) port, and to a broadband internet cable/DSL or fiber modem. If
you are using this router as a child node in a mesh Wi-Fi system, you can use
this port to create a wired connection to another node.
Power port— Connect the included AC power adapter to this port.
Bottom
Reset button— Press and hold until the light on top of the node turns
red, fades and flashes bright red again to reset the node to its factory
defaults.
Wi-Fi Protected Setup button— Press to connect WPS-enabled network
devices.
Power switch— Slide to | (on) to power on the node.

Set Up
IMPORTANT–Linksys HomeWRK nodes can be set up as primary nodes or child nodes. A primary node must be connected with an ethernet cable to your modem or modem router. Once set up wirelessly, secondary nodes can be connected to another node wirelessly or with ethernet cables.
-
Where does your internet come from? Choose A or B
-
Plug a node into a power source and connect its Internet port to the modem or modem-router with the supplied ethernet cable.
If you have multiple nodes, choose one of them to connect to your modem. We’ll tell you how to set up your other nodes later.
On a device with a data plan, visit Linksys HomeWRK in a browser. Use the link and instructions in the email sent from your company to continue setup.

Home
Home displays a snapshot of your mesh system. See if your personal and
corporate WiFi networks are connected to the internet. You also can see how
many total devices are connected to your WiFi and which node they are
connected to. Other information on your home screen: bandwidth usage over time
and internet speed.
Devices
View all devices that have been connected to your corporate and personal WiFi.
Devices that are no longer connected appear in the Offline tab. Choose a
specific device to view details about its identity and its connection. You can
remove offline devices that are not likely to rejoin your WiFi.

Speeds
Run a speed check to make sure you are getting the speeds you are paying for or troubleshoot connectivity issues. We do daily speed checks to provide you a 30-day snapshot of your system’s speeds.
- Download speed is the rate at which internet content is transferred to your parent node
- Upload speed is the rate at which you can upload content to the internet
Note– While speed check measures the speed between your ISP and your parent node, true internet connection speeds at the device level are determined by a variety of factors, including ISP account type, local and worldwide internet traffic, and the number of devices in your home that are sharing the internet connection.
Wireless
View or change your WiFi name and password and connect devices using Wi-Fi Protected SetupTM.
Guest
Allow guests to get online while restricting their access to other resources connected to your Wi-Fi.
Security
Your online life is protection by Forinet’s antivirus protection and web content filtering. Control what comes into your house with age-appropriate presets or fine-tune filters by allowing or blocking subcategories and specific URLs.

Filtering
Priority
Make sure you can hear and be heard in remote meetings. Give priority to
devices using Zoom or Microsoft Teams video calls when on your corporate
network. This feature does not work on your personal WiFi.
System Settings
Keep your Linksys HomeWRK system up to date and running smoothly.
Advanced
All the settings for sophisticated users with special networking needs.
Advanced users can change security type and WiFi mode. Do not change these
unless you have a lot of experience with WiFi networks.
Internet Settings
Choose how your Linksys HomeWRK connects to the internet. The default is Automatic Configuration DHCP. Other connection types depend on your internet service provider or how you plan to use your Linksys HomeWRK system. Advanced users can use Additional Settings to clone MAC addresses and set MTU (maximum transmission unit).
Port Settings
Port forwarding–for a single port, multiple ports or a range of ports–sends
traffic inbound on a specific port or ports to a specific device or port on
your Wi-Fi. In port range triggering, Linksys HoemeWRK watches outgoing data
for specific port numbers. Linksys HomeWRK remembers the IP address of the
device that requests the data so that when the requested data returns, it is
routed back to the proper device.
Wi-Fi MAC Filters
Every network device has a unique 12-digit MAC (media access control) address.
You can create a list of MAC addresses and regulate how devices use your Wi-
Fi.
How to restore factory defaults
You should never need to factory reset your Linksys HomeWRK nodes–a time- consuming process. A factory reset restores your nodes to the state theywere in when you took them out of the box. All settings will be erased, but when your parent node restarts it will automatically set up with your settings from the Linksys HomeWRK servers.
If you factory reset your parent node, you also need to factory reset your child nodes. If you want until the parent node is ready again, any child nodes will automatically find it.
All wireless devices will disconnect from your Wi-Fi until the nodes are fully reset and your WiFi networks are ready. To reset a node:
- With your node connected to power and turned on, press and hold the Reset button on the bottom. The light on top of the node will turn red and fade in pulses. Do not release the button until the light goes out and then turns bright red.
