Before you start the setup process, make sure to have the following:

STEP 1: Plug the Linksys RE6350 into a power outlet and wait for the light indicator to turn orange.
NOTE: Plug the range extender into a power outlet halfway between your router and the dead zone. -
STEP 2: Connect to the range extender’s default Wi-Fi name, Linksys Extender Setup, using a wireless computer or a tablet. Make sure your wireless computer or tablet has a strong Wi-Fi signal from your router.

STEP 3: Enter “http://extender.linksys.com” or “192.168.1.1” in a supported browser’s Address bar and press [ENTER] to launch the Setup Wizard.

STEP 4: Make sure to read and agree to the End User License Agreement then click Start Setup.

STEP 5: When prompted, select your Wi-Fi name.

STEP 6: Enter your Network Password or security key then click Next.

STEP 7: An _Ext suffix will be automatically added to your Network name. If you would like to personalize the set Network name, Password and Security mode of your range extender’s 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, enter and select them in the fields provided. Otherwise, click on Next.

STEP 8: The Spot Finder page will appear. This feature determines the signal strength between your range extender and your router. If your range extender is too close or too far from your router, click the Find better location button and follow the on-screen instructions.
Once you have found the best location for the range extender, click the Back link to proceed with the setup. -
STEP 9: Create and confirm your admin password. You can also add an optional password hint for easier recovery. Click Save did.

STEP 10: Enter your Email Address to register your range extender.
QUICK TIP: To get special offers and updates from Linksys, tick the checkbox before you click Next. If you have already registered your range extender, click Skip to proceed. -
STEP 11: The range extender will go through a firmware checkup. If a new firmware is available, it will proceed with the update. Otherwise, it will proceed to the next step.
