TAYAMA TG-868 Electric Grill
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
- Read all instructions carefully.
- Before using the unit, check if the voltage indicated corresponds with the convenience outlet (120Va.c.).
- Before using the unit, move it two to four inches away from the wall. Remove any object that may have been on top of the unit.
- Do not use two-way socket with other appliance.
- Do not place on or near gas stove, electric stove or in a heated oven.
- Do not touch hot surfaces, use handles or knobs.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Do not use accessories not recommended or sold with this unit.
- Keep curtains, furniture, flammable materials, etc. away from the unit and from the convenience outlet where the unit is plugged.
- Extreme caution must be taken in moving an appliance containing hot oil or liquids.
- Do not use this unit other than its intended use.
- Do not use metal scouring in cleaning the unit.
- CAUTION: Never leave the unit unattended while cooking.
- This appliance is intended for household use only. It should not be used for industrial use.
- Do not touch hot surfaces(metal grill plate). Use cool touch handles or knobs.
- To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord, plugs, or heating elements in water or other liquid.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cle,rning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
- For household use only.Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- To disconnect, turn any control to “off”, then remove plug from wall outlet.
- This appliance has a polarized plug(one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock,this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet,reverse the plug. If it still does not it, contact a qualified electrician . Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons(including children)who are not mentally able, physically capable, experienced or do not understand the product. They should be given supervision and instruction in the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- Charcoal or similar combustible materials must NOT be used with this appliance.

Important Note:
If the appliance provided with a flexible cord less than 4-l/2 feet (1.4 m) in
length, please note:
- A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) should be used to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If a longer detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance; and
- The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Getting started
Read all instructions carefully. Remove any packaging from the product. Place
the packing inside the box and either store or dispose of responsibly.
Assembly
- Place the unit on a flat stable and stable surface. We recommend using a surface which is heat insulating and fire resistant when using the Electric Grill.
- Place the Grill Plate on top of the Cool Touch Base. Be sure that it is properly fixed.
- Place the Oil Drip Tray on the bottom of the Grill Plate.

HOW TO USE:
Before each use, unwind the flex completety. And move it two to four inches
away from the wall. Remove any object that may have been on top of the unit.

Plug the unit into the outlet.

Pull the Oil Drip Tray and pour water to reduce smoke while cooking. Then slide the Oil Drip Tray carefully back into position.
Important: Do not pour water on the heating element. -
Adjust the Variable Temperature Control to desired cooking temperature, from MIN to MAX. NOTE: For initial use, some smoke may be observed when the unit is turned ON, this is normal.

Put the food such as meat, fish or vegetables onto the Grill Plate for Grilling.

Remove the food once the grilling process is complete.

Turn OFF after use and unplug the unit.

Pre-heating: 10-15 minutes.
When the item is working, it will stop heating when the heater temperature reaches to the max temp and restart again after about 1-2 minutes.
CAUTIONS:
- Ensure the drip tray is always filled with water to avoid overheating of the appliance and make clean-up easier.
- All parts of the unit will be very hot, especially Grill Plate and Drip Tray when in use. Use caution to avoid injuries.
- Do not use this grill on unstable surfaces on top of flammable materials leg.newspaper, cloth, carpets, etc.).
- Advisable to place grill on top of heat proof material.
REMINDER:
- The pilot light indicates that the appliance is heating up.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:

Turn OFF the Variable Temperature Control and unplug the unit from the mains power supply and let it cool down thoroughly before cleaning.

Be sure that the unit is cool enough before putting ON or taking OFF parts.

The Grill Plate and Oil Drip Tray are washable with soap and water.
Attention: They only should be cleaned with a sponge added washing-up liquid or dishwasher liquid.
(No scouring powder and brush!). Do not use metal scouring in cleaning the unit. -
Do not immerse the Cool Touch Base with Heating Element in water or any other liquids. Wipe the unit base with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

To avoid scratches the non-stick surface, do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.

Reassemble the Electric Grill and BBQ after drying and then store.
If foods have burnt on the grill plate, leave it to soak for a few hours, and then clean it as described above.
REMINDER: Please do not use the appliance without water in the tray.
TROUBLESHOOTING
