INSTRUCTION MANUAL

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  1. Read all instructions carefully.
  2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. Use pot holders when removing lid or handling hot containers.
  3. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or base in water or other liquid.
  4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  5. Turn unit off and unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
  7. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause re, electric shock, or injury and voids warranty.
  8. Do not use outdoors.
  9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
  10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  11. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
  12. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other liquids.
  13. To reduce the risk of electric shock cook only in removable container.
  14. Always attach plug to appliance rst, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls to OFF, then remove the plug. Always hold the plug — never pull the cord.
  15. To ensure continued protection against risk of electric shock, connect to properly grounded outlets only.

CONSUMER SAFETY INFORMATION

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. It is equipped with a 2-wire detachable cord with grounded plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded. WARNING: Improper use of the grounded wire can result in a risk of electric shock. Consult a qualied electrician if necessary. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature by modifying the plug.

A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulting from entanglement or tripping over a long cord. An extension cord may be used with care. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, it should be positioned so that it does not drape over the counter or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over and:
a) Use only 2-wire extension cord with 2-blade plug.
b) The marked rating of extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of this appliance. Electrical rating is listed on the bottom of this unit.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST USE

Carefully unpack the rice cooker and remove any packaging materials. To remove any dust that may have accumulated during packaging, wash the rice bowl, lid, measuring cup, steaming basket and spatula in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Wipe the base with a clean, damp cloth. Dry thoroughly. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive cleansers on any part of the rice cooker.

CAUTION: Do not immerse the base, cord or plug in water or other liquid.

HOW TO USE

  1. Using the measuring cup provided in the package, measure and add rice to the inner pot.
  2. By measuring cup, ratio amount of water to the rice inside the inner pot according to the following standard;

    14 cups| 14 – 14 1/2 cups
    12 cups| 12 – 12 1/2 cups
    10 cups| 11 – 11 1/2 cups
    8 cups| 9 – 9 1/2 cups
    6 cups| 7 – 7 1/2 cups
    4 cups| 5 – 5 1/2 cups
    2cups| 3 – 3 1/2 cups
  3. Se inner pot in cooker. Place rice and water in inner pot. Turn pan gently to right and left. Close the cover firmly.
  4. Do not plug in until ready to cook. Otherwise, rice may be spoiled. If pot is not in cooker, cooking will not begin.
  5. Press switch. “Cook” indicator tells you cooking has started.
  6. When rice is done, the switch will pop up. After the switch pops up, leave covered for at least 15 minutes to steam rice.
  7. Unplug after each use. Grasp the plug, not the cord.
  8. When you stew, the water level should not exceed 70% of the volume.
  9. Do not detach the ventilating hole for fear of scalding.

ATTENTION:  This appliance has a polarized plug (not blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. It the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in the way.
