PROPER USE
Promed INH-2.1 is an ultrasound mesh nebulizer for the treatment of the upper
and lower respiratory tracts. It is particularly suitable for adults and
children who have asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), such
as emphysema or chronic bronchitis, or other respiratory diseases which are
characterized by an obstruction of the air flow. Nebulisation and inhalation of
the medicament prescribed or recommended by your physician can prevent
diseases of the respiratory tracts, alleviate their accompanying symptoms and
accelerate the healing process. For further information regarding the possible
applications, please consult your physician or pharmacist. The device is
suitable for inhalation at home and on the go. The medicament inhalation
should only be carried out following medical instructions. Carry out the
inhalation quiet and relaxed and breathe in deeply and slowly in order to
allow the medicament to reach the fine and deep bronchial tubes. Breathe out
normally. After preparation, the device is suitable for re-use. The
preparation includes the replacement of all accessories, including the mesh
nebulizer, as well as the cleaning of all surfaces according to the care
instructions contained in these instructions.
The device is only intended for use by a single user for a single application.
Product characteristics
- Particularly small and light pocket format.
- Low power consumption and low residual medicament volume.
- Very good depth effect in the respiratory tracts, thanks to a particularly small particle size at nebulization (2.1μm).
MEDICAL LIABILITY NOTE
These instructions and the described products are not intended as a substitute for the advice provided by your own physician. The information contained herein shall not be used for self-treatment of a health problem or for self- prescription of medicaments. If you suspect that you have a medical problem, please consult your physician prior to the application.

Checking/replacing the battery
To replace/insert the batteries, put 2 batteries 1.5V AA (O) into the battery
compartment (M) by opening the battery compartment cover (N). Ensure that the
batteries are inserted with their right polarity (+/-). After inserting, close
the battery compartment again. Promed INH-2.1 checks the charge status of the
batteries. If the capacity of the batteries is low, the battery status LED (H)
flashes orange. If this is the case, the batteries must be replaced immediately
as otherwise a correct function of the Promed INH-2.1 is not given anymore.
Caution:
- Remove the batteries when the device is not used for a longer time.
- Do not use old and new batteries or different battery types at the same time.
- Warning: If batteries leak and come in contact with skin or eyes, immediately clean these areas with plenty of water.

Commissioning of the device
Before using the device ensure that all components are clean and dry.
A. Removing the medicament holder from the main device
To remove the medicament holder (B) from the main device (A), press the
locking button (I) and carefully pull the medicament holder off of the main
device.
Caution!
- To avoid damages to the device it is important to press the button before pulling the medicament holder.
- To avoid damages to the mesh membrane (P), leave the protective cap (C) on the medicament holder until a mouthpiece or an inhalation mask is inserted.
B. Filling the medicament holder
To fill the medicament holder, flap the cover (J) of the holder upwards. To do
so, you have to flap the locking (K) upwards first. Now you can fill the holder
with the desired liquid. Please ensure that you fill min. 0.5ml and max. 8ml.
After filling, close and lock the cover by flapping the locking downwards until
it clicks into place.
Caution!
- To avoid the leakage of the medicament holder, ensure that the fastening of the cover has clicked correctly into place.
- Never fill the medicament holder when it is attached to the main device.
C. Attaching the medicament holder to the main device
Before reconnecting the medicament holder with the main device, check that the
contact pins (L) of the main device and the medicament holder are clean and
dry. Now carefully place the holder onto the device and push it back until it
clicks into place. You must hear a “click”.
Caution!
To avoid malfunctions and damages, ensure that the medicament holder is
correctly clicked into place.
Caution!
Please keep the contact pins (L) of the main device and the medicament holder
clean. Otherwise, the device cannot work properly.
Caution!
Keep the small part away from children as they may inhale or swallow it.
D. Attaching the mouthpiece or an inhalation mask
First of all, remove the protective cap (C) from the medicament holder and
attach either the mouthpiece (D) or an inhalation mask (E).
Note!
Under normal conditions, the lifetime of the mouthpiece is approx. 2 years
(when using the device three times per day or 30 minutes per day).
E. Switching on the device
To switch on the inhaler, briefly press the Start/Stop button (F) once; the
operating mode LED (G) lights up green. When there is no liquid in the
medicament holder, the operating mode LED lights up green briefly and the
device switches off automatically. After switching on, the device starts the
nebulization for approx. 1 second, pauses for approx. 1/2 second and then
starts the continuous operation.
Note:
- You can carry out a functional test of the device by filling the medicament holder with a 0.9% sodium chloride (NaCl) solution and starting the device.
- The device cannot be operated with purified water. If there is only purified water in the medicament holder, the device cannot be switched on.
Caution!
- If you hold down the Start/Stop button when switching on the device, the device automatically switches into the cleaning mode and the operating mode LED lights up blue. The cleaning mode must not be used for inhaling.
- When the medicament holder is correctly filled with a medicament or a saline solution and when a high-frequency sound can be heard, carefully shake the inhaler and the noise will disappear.
F. Inhaling
To inhale, firmly hold the device in your hand and ensure that it is slightly
tilted forward so that there is always enough inhalation solution at the mesh
membrane.
Caution!
Please do not touch the opening in the cover of the medicament holder as this
could cause liquid losses or accumulations of inhalants in the area of the
mesh membrane.
Note:
- If no inhalation solution touches the mesh membrane, the device can only nebulize for further 10 seconds (the time varies depending on the inhalation solution used) before it switches off.
- The device must not be shaken vigorously, otherwise, it would switch off automatically.
Caution!
- If the device does not switch off automatically when the content of the medicament holder is used up or foams up, immediately switch it off, otherwise the mesh membrane could be damaged.
- Ensure that children do not use the device unsupervised. Now bring the inhaler to your mouth and put your lips tightly around the mouthpiece. When using an inhalation mask, place the mask over your nose and mouth.
Inhaling correctly
- To allow the particles to distribute as far as possible in the respiratory tracts, the right breathing technique is important. To ensure that the particles reach the respiratory tracts and the lungs, breathe in slowly and deeply, hold your breath briefly (5-10 seconds), and then breathe out quickly.
- The use of inhalers for the treatment of respiratory diseases shall be subject to consultation with your physician. They will recommend the selection, dosage, and application of medicaments for inhalation therapy.
- Certain medicaments are subject to prescription by a physician.
- Only use the medicaments according to the instructions given by your physician and ask them for the inhalation duration and amount that is appropriate for you!
- If the specified quantity of the medicament is lower than 2ml, only increase this quantity with an isotonic saline solution to at least 4ml. A dilution of viscous medicaments is necessary as well. Please observe the instructions of your physician.
Caution!
Ethereal medicinal plant oils, cough syrups, gargle solutions, drops for
embrocation, or steam baths are generally unsuitable for inhalation with
inhalers. These additives are often vicious and may adversely affect the
proper function of the device and thus the effectiveness of the application.
In the event of a hypersensitivity of the bronchial system, medicaments with
ethereal oils may possibly trigger acute bronchospasm (a sudden spasmodic
construction of the bronchial tubes with difficulty in breathing). Please
contact your doctor or pharmacist!
G. Switching off the device
To switch off the device, briefly presses the Start/Stop button; the inhaler
switches off and the operating mode LED goes out. When the content of the
medicament holder is used up, a short high-frequency signal sounds and the
device automatically switches off.
Note:
If you use a power adapter (not supplied with the product, can only be
purchased as an accessory), you have to remove it from the device after having
switched it off.
H. Using a power adapter
If you use a power adapter, insert the DC connector of the adapter into the
power supply connection socket (Q) first and then the power adapter into the
socket.
Note:
- Only use power adapters that are approved for the Promed INH-2.1 (Fuhua, UE05WCP030100SPC).
- To avoid possible damages, you have to disconnect the power adapter from the device after use.
- The power supply unit can easily heat up. This does not indicate a malfunction. The device can be used without problems.
