Product Information

The Aluminum Hood Catch is a supplemental latch system designed for JL and JT models. It is intended to provide additional security for the hood, in addition to the factory-supplied latch at the front. The product comes in three different variants: Silver (11116.21), Black (11210.21), and Textured Black (11210.27). It is patented under the number D692290.

Product Usage Instructions

1. 1. Remove the factory hood catch.

2. Unscrew the Binding Post to remove the Pivot Base from the Aluminum Hood Catch assembly.
3. Attach the supplied Hood Bumper to the Pivot Base.
4. Install the Catch and Catch Gasket on the hood using the supplied M6 hardware.
5. Install the Pivot Base and Pivot Base Gasket on the fender using the supplied M8 hardware.

Notice: Ensure the safety snap attached to the Catch is securely in place.

1. 1. Re-install the Aluminum Hood Catch assembly on the Pivot Base using the Binding Post removed in Step 2.

2. Adjust the Aluminum Hood Catch by releasing the latch and rotating it clockwise to increase tension or counter-clockwise to decrease tension. The hood should contact and slightly compress the Hood Bumper when properly adjusted.

Notice: Ensure the adjustment rod has a minimum of 3 threads engaged on each end. Operating the vehicle with inadequate thread engagement could result in damage to the vehicle.

CAUTION

The Aluminum Hood Catch is intended only as supplemental to factory supplied latch at the front of the hood. To avoid the risk of property damage or injury:

• Always ensure the hood is fully secure by the factory-supplied front latch and side catches.
• Do not modify the hood or catches to defeat the intended safety of factory supplied front latch and side catch system.

INSTALLATION

1. Remove the factory hood catch.
2. Remove the Pivot Base from the Aluminum Hood Catch assembly by unscrewing the Binding Post.
3. Attach the supplied Hood Bumper to the Pivot Base.
4. Install the Catch and Catch Gasket on the hood using the supplied M6 hardware. Install Pivot Base and Pivot Base Gasket on fender using supplied M8 hardware.
   • NOTICE: Ensure the safety snap is securely attached to the Catch.
5. Re-install the Aluminum Hood Catch assembly on the Pivot Base using the Binding Post removed in Step 2.
6. Adjust the Aluminum Hood Catch by first releasing the latch. With jam nuts loose, rotate the latch clockwise to increase tension, or counter-clockwise to decrease tension. When properly adjusted, the hood should contact and slightly compress the Hood Bumper.
