They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Safety information

  • Ensure that the motor unit, the power cable and the power plug are never immersed in water or other liquids.

  • Use the appliance only in dry rooms; never use it outdoors or in moist environments.

  • Ensure that the power cable never becomes wet or damp when the appliance is in use. Route the cable so that it cannot be trapped or damaged in any way.

  • Do not allow any liquid to run over the appliance’s plug connections

  • To avoid potential risks, if the appliance power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or by a qualified technician.

    Switching the appliance off is not sufficient; it will remain live for as long as the plug is connected to the power socket.

  • The appliance and its connecting cable must be kept away from children.
  • This appliance may be used by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks.
  • Do not allow children to use the appliance as a plaything.
  • The appliance should always be disconnected from the mains when unattended and before assembly, disassembly or cleaning.
  • Before changing any accessories or additional parts that move during operation, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from mains power.
  • Use only accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Always grip the power plug to disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
  • The appliance can become very hot during use! Ensure that you do not come into contact with the steam rising from the appliance or the hot food. Risk of burns!
  • Take extreme care when cleaning. The blade is extremely sharp!
  • Be very careful when handling the sharp blade!
  • After use, the surfaces of the heating elements will still have some residual heat.
  • Misuse may result in physical injury! Use the appliance only as described in the instructions!

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

  • Always remove the lid carefully, opening it facing away from you so that steam can escape towards the rear. Do not lean over the appliance while it is boiling. Use a dishcloth or oven gloves when touching the lid and the blender jug.

Caution! Hot surface!

ATTENTION! RISK OF FIRE!

  • Do not operate the appliance in the vicinity of or under curtains, wall-mounted cupboards or other flammable materials.

  • Place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface (not on varnished tables or tablecloths). Do not operate it close to other heat sources (cooker, gas flame).
    Otherwise, there is a danger of damage to the appliance and/or furniture.

  • Place the appliance on a level and stable surface. Ensure that it is set up at a sufficient distance to walls and cupboards. This will ensure that you avoid damage caused by rising steam.

  • Never operate the appliance via an external time-switch or a separate remote control system.

Before first use

  • Remove all packaging materials from the appliance and the protective film from the control panel 0.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

  • Take great care when handling the blades 6.
  • Wipe the lid 9, blades 6 and sensor 7, as well as the outside of the blender jug 5 with a damp cloth to remove any possible transport residues.
  • Rinse out the blender jug 5 with water and a little washing-up liquid and then afterwards with clear water so that no washing up liquid residue remains.
  • Ensure that all parts are completely dry before operating the appliance.

Programmes

PUREED SOUP 12
Use this function to make creamy soups, such as cream of pumpkin or cream of potato soup. The contents of the appliance will be heated and pureed. This programme runs for  21 minutes.
CHUNKY SOUP  13
Use this function to prepare and heat soups that contain small chunks (e.g. vegetable pieces). The content of the appliance are heated and slightly pureed. This programme runs for 28 minutes.
COMPOTE 14
Use this function to prepare compote, such as pear compote. The contents of the appliance will be heated but not pureed. This programme runs for 13 minutes.
SMOOTHIE 15
Use this function to blend or froth up the contents without heating; for instance, to make smoothies or milkshakes.
This programme runs for 2 minutes.
BLEND (blending without heating) 16
Use this function to mix ingredients without heating them. You can use this function, for instance, to puree soups that are too chunky.
KEEP WARM 17
This programme can be used to keep the finished soup at a temperature of about 90°C for up to 60 minutes.

Operating the appliance

NOTE

  • During first use, you might notice a slight odour or smoke due to production residues on the heating element. This is normal and not a malfunction of the appliance!  Ensure sufficient ventilation; for example, by opening a window.

NOTES

  • Always fill with liquid up to at least the MIN -1300 ml marking.
  •  Do not fill above the MAX – 1600 ml marking! Otherwise, the appliance can overflow!
  • After completion of the programmes PUREED SOUP 12, CHUNKY SOUP 13 and COMPOTE 14, you must allow the appliance to cool down for about 5 minutes before starting another programme that generates heat (PUREED SOUP 13, CHUNKY  SOUP 13 and COMPOTE 14).

Preparing soups

  1. Cut the vegetables into pieces of around 2 cm and place these in the blender jug 5.

  2. Fill the blender jug 5 up to no more than the MAX – 1600 ml marking with water, stock or other liquids. Always fill up to at least the MIN – 1300 ml marking!

  3. Place lid 9 on the blender jug 5. Ensure that the contact plug 1 in the lid 9 fits correctly in the safety socket2.

  4. Insert connector 3 into the built-in plug 4 on the appliance.

  5. Insert the plug into a mains power socket. You will hear a beep and the programme indicators flash.

  6. Press the MODE button q repeatedly until the programme indicator for the programme you want to use starts to flash.
    – PUREED SOUP 12 for creamy, pureed soups
    – CHUNKY SOUP 13 for chunky soups.

  7. Press the START/STOP button i. The appliance beeps. The programme indicator of the selected programme lights up permanently.
    Preparation of the soup now takes place automatically. The appliance heats and mixes at regular intervals.
    NOTE
    You can stop the preparation process at any time by pressing the START/STOP button I (for about 2 seconds, until you hear a beep).
    As soon as the preparation process is complete, the appliance will stop automatically. The appliance will beep and the relevant programme indicator of the set programme flashes.

  8. If you do not want to serve the soup immediately, you can activate the keep-warm function: Use the MODE button q to select the programme KEEP WARM u and press  the START/STOP button i to start the programme.
    After 60 minutes, the appliance stops automatically.
    You can stop the keep-warm process at any time by pressing and holding the START/ STOP button I.

  9. Remove the plug from the mains power socket and connector 3 from the built-in plug 4. Remove lid 9 carefully from the blender jug 5 and place it to one side.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!

  • Be careful when opening the lid 9.
    Hot vapour can escape! We recommend the use of oven gloves.
    You can now serve the soup in bowls or a soup terrine.

NOTE

  • Clean the appliance after every use (see section “Cleaning and care”). Otherwise, residues from the previous cooking process that may be left on the bottom of the container could burn.

Preparing compote

  1. Cut the fruit/vegetables into pieces of around 2 cm and place these in the blender jug 5.

  2. Fill the blender jug 5 up to no more than the MAX – 1600 ml marking with water or other liquids. Always fill up to at least the MIN – 1300 ml marking!

  3. Place lid 9 on the blender jug 5. Ensure that the contact plug 1 in the lid 9 fits correctly in the safety socket 2.

  4. Insert connector 3 into the built-in plug 4 on the appliance.

  5. Insert the plug into a mains power socket. You will hear a beep and the programme indicators flash.

  6. Press the MODE button q repeatedly until the COMPOTE programme indicator 14 starts to flash.

  7. Press the START/STOP button i. You will hear a beep and the COMPOTE programme indicator 14 flashes.
    Preparation of the compote now takes place automatically. The programme runs for 13 minutes.
    NOTE
    You can stop the preparation process at any time by pressing the START/STOP button I (for about 2 seconds until you hear a beep).
    As soon as the preparation process is complete, the appliance will stop automatically. You will hear a beep and the COMPOTE indicator light 14 flashes.
    NOTE
    If the consistency of the compote is still too chunky, you can puree the content a little after the programme finishes until you achieve the desired consistency: Use the  BLEND function 16 (see section “Blending”) to do this. If you have previously used the COMPOTE 14 programme beforehand, it is not absolutely necessary that the fill level is above the MIN marking when you carry out additional pureeing. Please make sure that the fill level is above the MIN marking for all other purposes, however.

  8. Remove the plug from the mains power socket and connector 3 from the built-in plug 4.

  9. Remove lid 9 carefully from the blender jug 5 and place it to one side.

    You can now serve the compote in dishes or a bowl.

  3. Place lid 9 on the blender jug 5. Ensure that the contact plug 1 in the lid 9 fits correctly in the safety socket 2.

  4. Insert connector 3 into the built-in plug 4 on the appliance.

  5. Insert the plug into a mains power socket. You will hear a beep and the programme indicators flash.

  6. Press the MODE button q repeatedly until the SMOOTHIE programme indicator 15  starts to flash.

  7. Press the START/STOP button i. You will hear a beep and the SMOOTHIE programme indicator 15 flashes.
    Preparation of the drink now takes place automatically. The programme runs for 2 minutes.
    NOTE
    ► You can stop the preparation process at any time by pressing the START/STOP button I (for about 2 seconds until you hear a beep). As soon as the preparation process is complete, the appliance will stop automatically. You will hear a beep and the SMOOTHIE indicator light 15 flashes.

  8. Remove the plug from the mains power socket and connector 3 from the built-in plug 4.

  9. Remove lid 9 from the blender jug 5 and place it to one side.
    You can now serve the smoothie/milkshake.

Blending
If you want to blend soups or shakes for a short time, you can the BLEND function 16.

  1. Add the food to be blended into the blender jug 5 if it is not already in there. Ensure that the blender jug 5 is filled to at least the MIN – 1300 ml marking, but not higher than the MAX – 1600 ml mark.
  2. Place lid 9 on the blender jug 5. Ensure that the contact plug 1 in the lid 9 fits correctly into the safety socket 2.
  3. Insert connector 3 into the built-in plug 4on the appliance.
  4. Insert the plug into a mains power socket. You will hear a beep and the programme indicator will flash.
  5. Press the MODE button q repeatedly until the BLEND programme indicator 16 starts to flash.
  6. Press and hold the START/STOP button I for as long as the contents of the blender jug 5 is to be blended, but not longer than 20 seconds. As soon as you let go of the  START/STOP button i, the blending process stops.
    The blending process stops automatically after 20 seconds.

Safety appliances

Overheating protection
This appliance is fitted with overheating protection to protect the motor from overheating.
If the overheating protection is triggered, the motor stops and the appliance switches itself off. It cannot be switched back on until it has cooled down.
This can happen if:

  • You have used the BLEND function 16 several times in quick succession for a total of more than 20 seconds.
  • Several cooking processes have been started in direct succession without allowing the appliance to cool down.

■ If the overheating protection is triggered and the appliance stops, pull the plug out of the socket and wait around 5 minute until the appliance stops. After it has cooled down,  you can use the appliance again.

Overfilling and overflow sensor
This appliance is fitted with a sensor 7 that recognises when the apparatus is overfilled or threatens to overflow.
If the appliance is overfilled, the appliance will not start and you will hear a beep. In this case, reduce the amount of liquid. Always pay attention to the MAX – 1600 ml and MIN  – 1300 ml markings on the blender jug 5!
If the appliance threatens to overflow during a cooking or blending process, the appliance will switch off and starts to beep. Reduce the amount of liquid and restart the appliance.

Low liquid level control
The integrated low liquid level control prevents the appliance from starting when there is no liquid in the blender jug 5.

Cleaning and Care

Ideally, you should clean the appliance immediately after use. Dried food residue is more difficult to remove.

DANGER –RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK!

  • Ensure that no moisture can get into/onto the built-in plug 4 and the safety socket 2 on the blender jug 5!
  • Ensure that no moisture can get into/onto the contact plug 1 on the lid on the blender jug 9!
    Never immerse the lid 9 in water or other liquids! Otherwise, there is a risk of an electric shock.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
Take care when cleaning the lid 9 and the attached blades 6! The blades 6 are extremely sharp!

  1. Add a little warm water and a drop of washing up liquid to the blender jug 5.

  2. Place lid 9 on the blender jug 5. Ensure that the contact plug 1 in the lid 9 fits correctly in the safety socket 2.

  3. Insert connector 3 into the built-in plug 4 on the appliance.

  4. Insert the plug into a mains power socket. You will hear a beep and the programme indicators flash.

  5. Press the MODE button q repeatedly until the BLEND programme indicator 16 starts to flash.

  6. Press and hold the START/STOP button i and allow the appliance to run for about 20 seconds.

  7. Remove the power plug from the mains power socket.

  8. Remove any stubborn residue in the blender jug 5 or the blades 6 using a washing-up brush or a washing-up sponge.

  9. Afterwards, empty the blender jug 5 and rinse it out thoroughly with clear water.

  10. Wipe the exterior surfaces of the blender jug 5 with a moist cloth. If required, use a mild washing-up liquid on the cloth. Afterwards, wipe off with a cloth moistened only with clear water to ensure that no detergent remains on the appliance.

  11. Wipe the lid 9, blades 6 and sensor 7 with a damp cloth. If required, use a mild washing-up liquid on the cloth. Afterwards, wipe off with a cloth moistened only with clear water to ensure that no detergent remains on the appliance. Ensure that no moisture can get into the contact plug  1 on the lid on the blender jug 9!
    NOTE
    If there is dirt on or underneath the sealing ring 8, it can be removed for cleaning:
    • Pull the sealing ring 8 downwards off the lid 9.
    • Clean the sealing ring 8 in warm water with a little washing-up liquid. Rinse off all detergent residues and dry the sealing ring 8 thoroughly.
    • Remove any dirt from the recess on lid 9 with a damp cloth. If necessary, apply a mild washing-up liquid to the cloth. Afterwards, wipe with a cloth moistened only with fresh water and dry everything thoroughly.
    • Push the sealing ring 8 back onto the lid 9 so that the sealing ring 8 slides into the recess. Make sure that the small notch on the sealing ring 8 is wrapped around the fixing lug on the cover 9 (Fig. 1). The flattened side of the sealing ring 8 should lie on the same side as the sensor 7:

  12. Wipe the mains cable with a damp cloth.

  13. Dry all parts well before re-use.

Storage

  • Store the cleaned appliance in a clean, dust-free and dry location.

Troubleshooting

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
The appliance is not working. The appliance is not connected to a mains power

The food is burnt.| The blender jug 5 was not cleaned properly before reheating. There is still food residue stuck to the bottom of the blender jug 5.| Clean the blender jug 5 before every heating.

Disposal

| Never dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive  2012/19/EU.
Dispose of the appliance via an approved disposal company or your municipal waste facility. Please comply with all applicable regulations.
Please contact your waste disposal centre if you are in any doubt.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts on the date of purchase.
Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase.
If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion).
This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.
The warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after the expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.

Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding the proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications/repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised service centres.

To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions:

  • Please have the till receipt and the item number (e.g. IAN 123456_7890) available as proof of purchase.
  • You will find the item number on the type plate on the product, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the operating instructions (below left) or on the sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
