- Ensure that the appliance is completely assembled before using it for the first time. The appliance can only be started up once the clamps have been closed. Should the clamps become loose during operation, the appliance stops automatically.
- After using the juicer, always ensure that the on/off switch is in the “OFF” position (“0”). Do not dismantle the appliance until the motor has come to a complete standstill.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
NOTE: No user action is required to switch the product between 50 and 60 Hz. The product adapts automatically to either 50 or 60 Hz.
Assembling and operating the appliance
- Before using the appliance for the first time, clean it as follows: clean the appliance housing and the power cable 8 using a damp cloth. Clean the pusher 1, the juice tank 5, the filter w, the separate juice collector t, the foam separator z, the lid 3 and the container for fruit and vegetable pulp q in warm soapy water. Dry all parts thoroughly before assembling them.
- Select a safe and secure positioning for the juicer. For optimal handling we recommend that the appliance is positioned with the power cable 8 running from the rear of the appliance to the wall socket. All operating elements can now be directly and easily handled:
- the On/Off switch 9 at the front,
- the container for fruit and vegetable pulp q on the left,
- the juice outlet 6 on the right.
WARNING: RISK OF INJURY!
- Ensure that the appliance is switched off and the plug 8 removed from the wall socket before assembling the appliance.
- Place the juice tank 5 on the appliance base 7, so that the three catches and the juice outlet 6 grip into in the recesses.
- Place the filter w on the drive shaft e and press it down so that it audibly clicks into place. Ensure that it is firmly seated before continuing with the assembly.
- Slide the container for fruit and vegetable pulp q from below under the outlet.
- Place the lid 3 onto the juice tank 5, so that feed tube 2 is sitting above the blades of the filter w.
- Ensure that the lid 3 is sitting firmly in the recess on the juice tank 5. Lift the clamps 4 and clip them into the notches on the lid 3.
- Press the lower part of the clamps 4 against the appliance until they click into place.
- Push the foam separator z into the juice collector t and put the lid on. Place the separate juice collector t next to the appliance so that juice outlet 6 protrudes into the separate juice collector.
- Insert plug 8 into a mains power socket.
Preparing the fruits/vegetables
- Important: Use only well-ripened fruit, as otherwise the filter w will get blocked. This would require repeated cleaning of the filter w.
- Wash or peel the fruits/vegetables that you wish to process.
- Large seeds or stones should always be removed before filling the appliance.
- Cored fruit (such as apples, pears) can be processed along with the skin and core. Remove all other stones (peaches, plums etc.), all large seeds (melons etc.) and stalks to avoid possible damage to the appliance.
- Fruits and vegetables with thick peels (e.g. citrus fruits, melons, kiwis, root vegetables) must always be peeled first.
- Remove the stalks from the grapes.
- Cut the fruit or vegetables into pieces that will fit easily into the feed tube 2.
- Turmeric only needs to be washed, not peeled.
- Remove the woody parts from the ginger, wash the ginger and cut it into pieces. You don’t have to peel ginger to extract the juice.
- For celery, cut off the base and remove wilted leaves. Always feed celery with the lower, wide end first into the feed tube 2.
- Wash any lettuce varieties, e.g. iceberg or loose-leaf lettuce, and fold the individual leaves together to form small “packages”. The resulting higher pressure allows more liquid to be obtained.
NOTE: Raisins are not suitable for juicing as they contain too little juice. Rhubarb or other fibrous vegetables/fruits are not suitable for juicing as the fibres will block the juicer.
WARNING: RISK OF INJURY!
- NEVER insert your hands or other objects into the feed tube 2 when working with the appliance. This could lead to serious injuries and/or damage to\ the appliance.
- Switch the appliance on with the On/Off switch 9. Use speed level 1 for juicing fruit/vegetables containing a lot of liquid. For drier fruit/vegetables, select speed level 2.
- Hold the pusher 1 in one hand and feed the fruit or vegetable pieces with the other hand into the feed tube 2. Always use the pusher 1 to carefully press the fruit/vegetable pieces into the feed tube 2. While the fruit/vegetables are being processed, insert further pieces into the feed tube. Do not switch the appliance off.
NOTE
- Add carrots one after the other into feed tube 2 the top of the carrot must be at the bottom and the pointed end at the top.
- To avoid fruit or vegetables become blocked in feed tube 2, only fill it when the appliance is switched on. If fruit or vegetable pieces get stuck in the feed tube 2 and cannot be promptly freed with pusher 1, proceed as follows to avoid damage to the appliance:
- Switch the off appliance immediately and pull the power plug 8 from the wall socket.
- Undo the clamps 4 and remove the lid 3.
- Remove the fruit or vegetable pieces causing the blockage.
- Reassemble the appliance and continue with juice extraction.
- Always switch the off appliance immediately after all of the fruit/vegetables have been processed.
CAUTION: PROPERTY DAMAGE!
- To avoid blockage of juice outlet 6 and/or damage to the appliance, clean the juice outlet 6 and the juice tank 5 regularly and after every use.
Emptying the pulp container and the filter
- You can extract juices continuously until the container for fruit and vegetable pulp q is completely full.
WARNING: RISK OF INJURY!
- Remove plug 8 from the power outlet when emptying the filter 12. This prevents the unintentional starting of the appliance.
If the extracted juice suddenly starts getting thicker, or if you hear that the motor is running more slowly, the filter 12 needs to be emptied. When you have removed the fruit pulp, reassemble the appliance.
