Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified. Please also pass these operating instructions on to any future owner.
Intended use
This appliance is intended for use exclusively in private households for cooking chicken eggs. It is not intended for use with other foods or other materials. This appliance is intended solely for use in private households. Not for commercial use! The appliance is intended only for indoor domestic use.

Safety information
DANGER – RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

The egg boiler may only be connected to a properly installed and earthed socket with a mains voltage of 220 – 240 V ∼, 50/60 Hz.

Always remove the plug from the power socket before moving or filling the appliance, in the event of problems, before cleaning the appliance and when the boiler is not in use! Never pull on the mains cable ; always pull directly on the plug itself. Never touch the appliance plug with wet or moist hands.

Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquids!

There is a risk of fatal electric shock if residual liquids come
into contact with live components during operation. Should
the appliance ever fall into liquid, IMMEDIATELY remove
the power plug from the socket. Please then contact the -
Service Hotline (see section Service).

Do not use the egg boiler if it is on a wet surface or if your hands or the appliance are wet.

Position the mains cable so that it does not come into contact with hot or sharp-edged objects.

Use only easily accessible plug sockets so that you can unplug the appliance quickly in the event of a malfunction.

Do not kink or crush the mains cable and do not wind it around the appliance.
-
Do not operate the egg boiler if the appliance, the mains cable or the plug is damaged.

To avoid potential risks, if the appliance power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service or by a qualified technician.

Always keep the egg boiler and the mains cable and plug away from open flames and hot surfaces.

Do not allow any liquid to run over the appliance’s plug connections.
WARNING – RISK OF INJURY
- Never leave the appliance unattended during operation.
- This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years or over, if they are supervised or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks.
- Cleaning and user maintenance tasks must not be carried out by children unless they are aged 8 years or over and are supervised. The appliance and its connecting cable must be kept away from children younger than 8 years old.
- This appliance may be used by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks.
- Do not allow children to use the appliance as a plaything.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- CAUTION: Be careful with the egg pick to prevent injuring yourself.
- The surfaces of the appliance can become extremely hot during operation. Therefore, always hold the lid and the cooking insert by their handles / to remove them.
- After use, the surfaces of the heating elements will still have some residual heat.
- Use the appliance only for its intended purpose. Risk of injury if appliance is misused! CAUTION! Hot steam escapes from the steam outlet and when you open the lid ! Risk of scalding! Always open the lid by lifting it by the handle and removing it to the side. Avoid contact between the escaping steam and your hand and arm. Do not remove the cooking insert until the steam has completely dissipated.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE
- Do not use an external timer switch or a separate remote control system to operate the appliance.
- Never leave the appliance unattended during operation.
- Never place the appliance near sources of heat.
- Never open the housing. If you do, it can no longer be assured that the appliance is safe, and the warranty will be invalidated.
- Use only the accessory parts provided with the appliance. Never use the appliance without the cooking insert and water in the cooking bowl .
- Allow the appliance and accessories to cool completely before cleaning and storing them.
NOTE
No user action is required to switch the product between 50 and 60 Hz. The product adapts automatically to either 50 or 60 Hz
Preparations Unpacking
- Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the box.
- Remove all packaging materials and any adhesive labels from the appliance
Initial operation
Before starting to use the appliance, ensure that
- the appliance, power plug and mains cable are in perfect condition and…
- all packaging materials have been removed from the appliance
- Clean all parts of the appliance as described in the section entitled “Cleaning and care”.
- Unwind the mains cable from around the cable retainer and guide it through the recess on the edge.
- Insert the plug into a suitable mains power socket. The appliance is now ready for use
Cable retainer
There is a cable retainer on the base of the appliance. This retainer allows you to adjust the length of the cable to your requirements.
CAUTION – PROPERTY DAMAGE
Ensure that you always guide the mains cable through the corresponding gap in the rear of the appliance base for the sake of stability
NOTE
Always wrap the power cable around the cable retainer in a clockwise direction. This reduces the length of the cable to a minimum, allowing you to guide the mains cable through the gap in the appliance base
Preparing eggs
- Pick a hole in the bottom of the egg with the egg pick . This allows the air inside the egg to dissipate as it expands during boiling. It prevents the shell from bursting open. The hole you pierced previously should point upwards when you place the eggs in the cooking insert .
- Place up to 7 eggs on the cooking insert with the picked side up.
- Fill the measuring cup up to the MAX marking with tap water and tip this water into the cooking bowl .
- Place the cooking insert into the cooking bowl and place the lid on top.
Boiling all eggs to the same firmness
NOTE
The preprogrammed cooking times relate to average-sized eggs (size M/L) at a temperature of around 7°C (refrigerator temperature).
Turn the control switch to the position that corresponds to the desired egg firmness (see the symbols to the right of the control):

Move the control switch to the area to the left of the respective symbol
(for a shorter cooking time) if a) you want to cook less than the maximum number of eggs, or
b) the eggs are smaller than average (size S), or c) the eggs are at room temperature and have not been taken out of the refrigerator.
Move the control switch to the area to the right of the respective symbol (for a longer cooking time) if the eggs are larger than average (size XL). -
Press the operating switch to the position “I” to switch the appliance on. The integrated control lamp lights up and cooking begins

As soon as the eggs are cooked to the desired firmness, a beep will be heard. To switch the appliance off, set the operating switch to the position “O”. The integrated control lamp goes out.

Carefully remove the lid and the cooking insert by its handle from the cooking bowl

After cooking, shock the eggs in the cooking insert in cold, flowing water to allow the shells to be removed more easily and so the egg does not continue cooking

Pour any remaining water out of the cooking bowl down the drain.
Boiling eggs to different degrees of firmness
- You can boil eggs to two different degrees of firmness in the appliance. It will always reach the softest level first. For reliable results, all the eggs used must be of the same size and have the same starting temperature. For the first cooking process, the symbols to the right of the control apply.
- For the second cooking process, the symbols to the left of the control apply.

Prepare the eggs as described in the section “Preparing eggs”.

Turn the control switch to the position that corresponds to the softest firmness level of the eggs (the symbols to the right of the control apply).

Press the operating switch to the position “I” to switch the appliance on. The integrated control lamp lights up and cooking begins.

As soon as the eggs have reached the first, softer firmness level, a beep will be heard. To switch the appliance off, set the operating switch to the position “O”. The integrated control lamp goes out.

Then take off the lid and carefully remove the desired number of eggs (those that have been cooked to the softer firmness level).

Replace the lid and turn the control switch to the position of the symbol to the left of the control (the desired firmness level for the eggs that remain in the appliance):

Press the operating switch to the position “I” to switch the appliance on. The integrated control lamp lights up and the second part of the combined cooking process begins.

As soon as the eggs have reached the second firmness level, a beep will be heard. To switch the appliance off, set the operating switch to the position “O”. The integrated control lamp goes out.

Carefully remove the lid and the cooking insert by its handle from the cooking bowl .

After cooking, shock the eggs in the cooking insert in cold, flowing water to allow the shells to be removed more easily and so the egg does not continue cooking.

Pour any remaining water out of the cooking bowl down the drain
Cleaning and maintenance
DANGER – RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
- Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the power plug from the mains power socket! Otherwise there is the risk of electric shock!
- Never open any parts of the housing. There are no serviceable parts whatsoever inside. When the housing is open, there is the risk of receiving a potentially fatal electrical shock. Never immerse the appliance base in water or any other liquid! There is a risk of fatal electric shock if residual liquids come into contact with live components during operation.
WARNING – RISK OF INJURY
- Allow the appliance to cool sufficiently before cleaning it. Risk of burns!
- When cleaning the measuring cup , be careful of the egg pick . Risk of injury!
Cleaning the appliance
- First disconnect the power plug from the power socket.
- Allow the appliance to cool down.
- Then clean the cooking bowl and the surface of the appliance base with a slightly damp cloth.
- Always dry the appliance properly before using it again
In the event of limescale
If limescale starts building up on the cooking bowl , proceed as follows to remove it.
- Fill the measuring cup one third full with lemon juice. Then fill the measuring cup up to the MAX marking with water.
- Tip this lemon juice solution into the cooking bowl .
- Plug the mains plug into a suitable wall socket and press the operating switch to the position “I” to switch the appliance on.
- Allow the lemon juice to simmer for about 10 seconds.
- Switch the appliance off by moving the operating switch to the position “O”.
- Remove the plug from the mains power socket.
- Allow the appliance and the lemon juice to cool down.
- Tip out the lemon juice and wipe out the cooking bowl with a damp cloth.
Cleaning the accessories
Wash the lid , the cooking insert and the measuring cup with washing-up liquid under flowing water.
NOTE
Storage
- Allow the appliance cool down completely before putting it into storage.
- Wrap the mains cable around the cable retainer .
- Store the appliance in a dry location.
Disposal
The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out dustbin means that this appliance is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this appliance may not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must be taken to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies.
The disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this appliance properly.
Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product.
The product and its packaging are recyclable. They are subject to an extended manufacturer responsibility and will be collected separately
The packaging materials have been selected for their environmental friendliness and ease of disposal and are therefore recyclable. Dispose of packaging materials that are no longer needed in accordance with applicable local regulations.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal, if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings: 1–7: plastics, 20–22: paper and cardboard, 80–98: composites.

Dear Customer, This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below
Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase. If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred. If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.
Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.
Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery. The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to product parts subject to normal wear and tear or to fragile parts which could be considered as consumable parts such as switches, batteries or parts made of glass. The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided. This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.

- Please have the till receipt and the item number (IAN) 400108_2204 available as proof of purchase.
- You will find the item number on the type plate on the product, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the operating instructions (below left) or on the sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
- If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail.
- You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure that you enclose the proof of purchase (till receipt) and information about what the defect is and when it occurred.
