They contain important information concerning safety, use, and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use. Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. The packaging material poses a suffocation hazard. Children frequently underestimate the dangers. Please keep the product out of reach of children at all times. This product shall not be used by children. Keep the product out of reach of children. This product can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock!

Use the product only with an RCD-protected socket outlet. Do not use the product with power outlet strips or extension cables. Do not position the product in water or in places where water can collect. Do not use the product for inductive loads (such as motors or transformers). Do not attempt to repair the product yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by qualified personnel only. During cleaning or operation, do not immerse the electrical parts of the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water. Never use a damaged product. Disconnect the product from the power supply and contact your retailer if it is damaged. Before connecting the product to the power supply, check that the voltage and current rating corresponds with the power supply details shown on the product’s rating label. Disconnect the product from the power supply when not in use and before cleaning.Do not use any solvents or cleaning solutions on the product. Clean the product only with a slightly moistened cloth. The product shall not be covered. The product‘s maximum total output power/current (see the following table) must never be exceeded. Take special care when connecting devices consuming larger amounts of power (such as power tools, fan heaters, computers, etc.).

Do not connect any devices that exceed the power rating of this product. Doing so may overheat or cause possible damage to the product or other equipment. The power plug of the product must fit into the socket outlet. The power plug must not be modified in any way. Using unmodified main plugs and proper outlets reduces the risk of an electric shock. Do not use the product where wireless devices are not allowed. The product shall be easily accessible. Always ensure that the product can be easily and quickly pulled out of the socket outlet. Devices building up heat must be separated from the product to avoid accidental activation. Disconnect the product from the mains voltage before undertaking any maintenance work. Do not use the product together with medical devices.

  • Do not connect the product in series.
  • Avoid switching maximum loads frequently on or off in order to sustain a long life for the product.

ATTENTION! Radio interference

  • Do not use the product on airplanes, in hospitals, service rooms, or near medical electronic systems. The wireless signals transmitted could impact the functionality of sensitive electronics.
  • Keep the product at least 20 cm from pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators, as electromagnetic radiation may impair the functionality of pacemakers. The radio waves transmitted could cause interference in hearing aids.
  • Never use the product near flammable gases or potentially explosive areas (e.g. paint shops), as the radio waves emitted can cause explosions and fire.
  • The OWIM GmbH & Co KG is not responsible for interference with radios or televisions due to unauthorized modification of the product. The OWIM GmbH & Co KG further assumes no liability for using or replacing cables and products not distributed by OWIM.
  • The user of the product is solely responsible for rectifying malfunctions caused by unauthorized changes to the product and the replacement of such modified products.

Safety instructions for batteries / rechargeable batteries

  • DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.
  • Swallowing may lead to burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion.

DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries / rechargeable batteries and/or open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result.

  • Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into a fire or water.
  • Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable batteries.

Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries

  • Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight.
  • If batteries / rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes, and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention!

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES!
Leaked or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.

  • This product has a built-in rechargeable battery which cannot be replaced by the user. The removal or replacement of the rechargeable battery may only be carried out by the manufacturer or his customer service or by a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards. When disposing of the product, it should be noted that this product contains a rechargeable battery.

Before first use

Remove the packaging material The built-in non-replaceable rechargeable battery takes two hours to fully charge. Connect the product to a suitable socket with protective contact for charging. If the display [1] of the device does not function properly. Reset the product by using the RESET button [6]. To do this, press the RESET button with a pointed object (e.g. paper clip end) and hold down for approx. 3 seconds.

Set up Time format Display

12-hour display: from 00:00 to 12:00 with AM or PM 24-hour display: from 00:00 to 23:59, without AM or PM To change from 12-hour display to 24-hour display, or vice versa, press the CLOCK Button [2] and hold it till the LCD display changes. Press CLOCK Button [2] again to return to original display.

Setting the weekday

  1. Press and hold the SET button [4] until the day of the week flashes on the display. The days are displayed in the following order:
    Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa Su.

  2. Press Λ+ Button [5]/V- Button [3] once will increase or reduce the day by sequence slowly. To press and hold the button, the weak display moves quickly. Release the button until your desired day of the week is shown on the display. Press the SET Button [4] to confirm your setting or wait until the selected day of the week stops flashing.

Setting the time
After setting the day of the week, hour display flashes to indicate setting time can be started.

  1. Press the Λ+ Button [5] to increase the number of hours, or the V- Button [3] to reduce hours.
  2. Press Λ+/V- The button once will increase or reduce each hour slowly. To press and hold the button, the hour display moves quickly. Release the button until your desired hour is shown on the display. Press the SET Button [4] to confirm your setting.
  3. The “Minute” display then flashes to indicate setting minute is ready. Repeat steps #1 and #2 to set Minutes.

Setting the summertime

  1. Press the CLOCK Button [2] and V- Button [3] at the same time to change to summertime, the time display automatically adds one hour, and “S” is shown on the LCD.
  2. Pressing the CLOCK Button [2] and V- Button [3] again to cancel the summertime setting.

Attention: LCD must be in real-time display to start the week and time setting. If LCD is in the program setting display, press the CLOCK Button [2] once to return to real-time display.

Set up Programming
When the LCD is in the real-time display, press Λ+ [5] button once to change to the program setting display, “1ON” will be shown on the lower left corner of the LCD; “1” indicates the program group’s number (program group is from 1 to 14) “ON” indicates power on time. “OFF” indicates power off time

  1. Set program group can be selected using the “Λ+” [5] or “V-” button [3] as described in “Setting the time”. The groups are displayed as follows: 1ON, 1OFF … 20ON, 20OFF and dON/OFF (Countdown); Select the program group, press the SET button[4]; Select the weekdays OR weekday combinations for this program; press the “Λ+” button [5]. The display shows the days of the week OR weekday combinations in the following order:
    • MO TU WE TH FR SA SU
    • MO −> TU −> WE −> TH −> FR −> SA −> SU MO WE FR
    • TU TH SA
    • SA SU
    • MO TU WE
    • TH FR SA
    • MO TU WE TH FR
    • MO TU WE TH FR SA
  2. Press “V-” button [3] to display the combinations in reverse sequence;
  3. Confirm your setting by pressing the SET button [4].
  4. After the weekday setting, further set the associated hours. Please observe #1 to #2 in “Setting the time”.

Hints: To reset a program, enter the programming mode. Select the appropriate program and press the ON/OFF button [9]. To return to the time display, press the CLOCK button. Alternatively, the display automatically returns to the time display after 15 seconds.

Countdown Setting

  1. When LCD is in the real-time display, press the V- Button [3] once to change to the countdown setting display, “dON (or OFF)” will be shown on the lower left corner of the LCD; “d”: indicates the program is in countdown mode “dON” is set, the device will be switched on until the counter expires.“dOFF” is set, the device will be switched off until the countdown expires.
  2. Press the SET button [4] to start the settings. Set the number of hours, minutes, and seconds. To set the desired number, proceed as described in “Setting the weekday”. The number of seconds is also set equivalent to the number of hours.
  3. Connect the Timer to the AC socket and set the Timer to AUTO status in order to start /stop the countdown functions.
  4. Press the C.D. button [8] to start the set countdown. Press the C.D. button again to end the countdown mode.

Hints: Press the “V-” button to display the countdown details. To change your settings, repeat steps #1 to #2 in this section.

Random mode
The random mode switches connected devices on and off at irregular intervals.

  1. Start the random mode by pressing the RND button [7]. Connected devices will be switched off for 26 minutes to 42 minutes. The switch-on phases last for 10 minutes to 26 minutes.
  2. To disable the random mode, press the RND button [7] again.

Turning On/ off

  • Preset your desired On/off programs on the Timer as mentioned above
  • Turn off the connecting device which will connect
  • Plug the connecting device into the power outlet [2] of the product.
  • Plug the product from the power supply. Switch on the connecting device.
  • The appliance will then be turned on/off according to your preset programs
  • To unplug the connected device from the product; Turn off the connected device first. Then unplug the product from the power supply. Now you may unplug the connecting device from the product.

Cleaning and care

Cleaning

WARNING! During cleaning or operation, do not immerse the product in water or other liquids. Never hold the product under running water.

  • Before cleaning: Unplug the product from the power supply. Unplug any connected device from the product.
  • Clean the product only with a slightly moistened cloth.
  • Do not allow any water or other liquids to enter the product’s interior.
  • Do not use abrasives, harsh cleaning solutions or hard brushes for cleaning.
  • Let the product dry afterward.

Storage

  • When not in use, store the product in its original packaging.
  • Store the product in a dry, secure location away from children.

Disposal

The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials, which you be disposed of through your local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meaning: 1 – 7: plastics / 20 – 22: paper and fibreboard / 80 – 98: composite materials.

Product

  • Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.
  • To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

Faulty or used batteries/rechargeable batteries must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return the batteries/rechargeable batteries and/or the product to the available collection points.

Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the batteries/rechargeable batteries!

Remove the batteries/battery pack from the product before disposal. Batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries/rechargeable batteries at a local collection point.

Warranty and service

Warranty
The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of material or manufacturing defects, you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.
The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Keep the original sales receipt in a safe location as this document is required as proof of purchase. Any damage or defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported without delay after unpacking the product. Should the product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge to you. The warranty period is not extended as a result of a claim being granted. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, used or maintained improperly. The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear and tear, thus considered consumables (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries, tubes, cartridges), nor damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches or glass parts.

Warranty claim procedure
To ensure quick processing of your claim, observe the following instructions: Make sure to have the original sales receipt and the item number (IAN 424221_2204) available as proof of purchase. You can find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the instruction manual (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product. If functional or other defects occur, contact the service department listed below either by telephone or by e-mail. Once the product has been recorded as defective you can return it free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure to enclose the proof of purchase (sales receipt) and a short, written description outlining the details of the defect and when it occurred.
