Thank you for purchasing your new 5.1 sound bar system. We recommend that you spend some time reading this instruction manual in order that you fully understand all the operational features it offers. Read all the
safety instructions carefully before use and keep this instruction manual for future reference.

SAFETY PRECAUTION

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Caution:

To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not dismantle the product and do not expose the apparatus to rain or moisture. No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.

Explanation of Graphical Symbols:

The lightning flash within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert you to the presence of un-insulated dangerous voltage within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute an electric shock to a person or persons.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert you to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the
literature accompanying the product.

To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate this product. This will assure you years of
trouble free performance and listening pleasure.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Read Instructions – All the safety and operating instructions must be read before the product is operated.

  2. Installation – Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

  3. Power sources – This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated by the marking adjacent to the power cord entry.

  4. Power cord protection – Power-supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked on, kinked or pinched by items placed on or against them, paying particular attention to cords from plugs, receptacles and the point where they exit from the product.

  5. Overloading – Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or multiple sockets, as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock.

  6. Ventilation – The product must be properly ventilated. Do not place the product on a bed, sofa, or other similar surface. Do not cover the product with any items such as tablecloths, newspapers, etc.

  7. Heat – The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products, including amplifiers that produce heat. No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.

  8. Water and moisture – To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the product to train, dripping, splashing or excessive moisture such as in a sauna or bathroom. Do not use this product near
    water, for example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool (or similar).

  9. Object and Liquid Entry – Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings, as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-circuit parts that could result in a fire or electric shock.
    Never spill liquid of any kind on the product.

  10. Attachments – Do not use attachments not recommended by the product manufacturer, as they may cause hazards.

  11. Accessories – Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, tripod, bracket or table. The product may fall, causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious damage to the product. Any mounting of the product should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and should use a mounting accessory recommended by the manufacturer.

  12. Unused periods – The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet during lightning storms or when the apparatus is left unused for a long period of time.

  13. Servicing – Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

  14.  Replacement parts – When replacement parts are required, ensure that the service technician has used replacement parts specified by the manufacturer or have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards.

  15. Do not turn up the volume while listening to a section with very low level inputs or no audio signals. If you do, the speaker may be damaged when a peak level section is suddenly played.

  16. The only means of completely disconnecting the product from the power supply is by removing the power cord from the wall outlet or the product. The wall outlet or the power cord entry to the product must remain freely accessible at all times while the product is in use.

  17. ESD hints – The normal function of the product may be disturbed by strong Electro-Magnetic Interference. If so, simply reset the product to resume normal operation by following the instruction manual. In case the function could not resume, please use the product in other location.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Do not subject the unit to excessive force, shock, dust or extreme temperature.
  2. Do not tamper the internal components of the unit.
  3. Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places.
  4.  Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps or motors.

CLEANING THE UNIT

  1. To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your unit from the AC power source when cleaning.
  2.  The finish on the unit may be cleaned with a dust cloth and cared for as other furniture, use caution when cleaning and wiping the plastic parts.
  3. If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax or polish sprays on the cabinet.
  4.  If the front panel becomes dirty or smudged with fingerprints it may be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Never use abrasive cloths or polishes as these will damage the finish of your unit.
    CAUTION: Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning.

Remote Control

  1.  : Switch the unit between ON and STANDBY mode.

  2.  SURR–: To adjust the surround speaker volume level down.

  3.  SURR+: To adjust the surround speaker volume level up.

  4. . +: Press to adjust main volume level up.

  5. . : In Bluetooth/USB mode, skip to previous track.

  6. . : In Bluetooth/USB mode, start or pause playback.
    – Press and hold for 3 seconds to break the current connection and initiate a new pairing during Bluetooth mode.

  7.  : In Bluetooth/USB mode, skip to next track.

  8. –: Press to adjust main volume level down.

  9.  : Press to choose Music sound effect. Switch the display backlight On/Off.

  10. MOVIE : Press to choose Movie sound effect.

  11. . BASS+: To increase the bass level.

  12. . TREB+: To increase the treble level.

  13.  BASS–: To decrease the bass level.

  14.  TREB–: To decrease the treble level.

  15.  MUTE: To mute or resume the sound.

  16.  /SOURCE Button

  17.  5.1/2.1: Switch the unit between 2.1 channel and 5.1 channel output mode.

PREPARATIONS

Prepare the Remote Control Insert/Replace Battery in Remote Control

  • Open the battery compartment on the underside of the remote control.
  • Insert 2pcs AAA/R03 1.5 V type batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity (see bottom of battery compartment)!
  • Close the battery compartment.
  • If the remote is not in use for a lengthy period of time, please remove the battery to prevent the battery acid from “leaking”.

WARNING:

  • Do not expose the batteries to intense heat, such as sunlight, fire or similar. Danger of explosion!
  • Keep batteries out of the reach of children. They are not toys.
  • Do not force batteries open.
  • Avoid contact with metallic objects. (Rings, nails, screws etc.) Danger of short circuits!
  • Short circuits may overheat or even ignite batteries. This may lead to combustion.
  • When transporting the batteries, cover the terminals for your safety with an adhesive strip.
  • If a battery leaks, do not rub the fluid into the eyes or the skin. If acid comes into contact with the eyes, rinse with purified water and seek medical advice if symptoms persist.

CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL DEVICE USING AN HDMI CABLE

HDMI is an interface that enables the digital transmission of video and audio data with just a single connector.
HDMI prevents any degradation to the signal due to conversion to analogue and maintains the video and audio quality of the original digital source.

HDMI IN-1 & HDMI IN-2

Connect an HDMI cable (not supplied) from the HDMI IN-1 or HDMI IN-2 jack to the HDMI OUT jack on your digital device.

HDMI OUT TO TV (ARC)

Connect an HDMI cable (not supplied) from the HDMI OUT TO TV (ARC) jack on the back of the product
to the HDMI IN jack on your TV.

ARC (Audio Return Channel) Function

The ARC function allows digital audio to output via the HDMI OUT (ARC) port. It can be enabled only when the Sound bar is connected to a TV that supports the ARC function
●Note: This function is not available if the HDMI cable does not support ARC.

CONNECTING AN EXTERNAL DEVICE USING 3.5MM AUDIO (ANALOG) CABLE OR COAXIAL/OPTICAL (DIGITAL) CABLE

*Not all TVs have the audio outputs shown above. To connect the Sound Bar directly to your other devices (Blu-ray player, game system, etc) see your device’s user manual.
**When using either of the Digital Inputs, if the status indicator light is flashing quickly:
(A) Ensure that the Optical cable or Coaxial cable is properly connected;
(B) Try setting the TV output to PCM; or
(C) Connect directly to your Blu-ray/other source, some TVs do not pass through digital audio.

PLACING THE SOUNDBAR ON A TALBE

If your TV is placed on a table, you can place the soundbar on the table directly in front of the TV stand, centered with the TV screen, As long as the surface of the table is flat, the soundbar will rest on its metal feet.

WALL-MOUNTING THE SOUNDBAR

BASIC OPERATION

POWER ON/STANDBY & PAIRING THE SUBWOOFER TO THE SOUND BAR AT THE FIRST TIME USE
Before connecting the AC power, ensure that the power supply voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the back or the underside of the unit.

  1. Insert the DC plug of the AC-DC power adaptor (20V/1.8A) into the DC IN jack on the bottom of the main unit, then connect the AC-DC adapter to a convenient wall outlet.
  2. Press the button to switch the sound bar on. The LED display will light up and showing the last used mode.
  3. Plug the connector of power cord into the AC socket on the back of the subwoofer, and plug it into the main power supply, then turn on the subwoofer by press the Power On/Off Switch to ON position, the Pairing Indicator is flashing in blue.
  4. To pair the subwoofer and the sound bar, press and hold the /SOURCE button on remote control for about 5 seconds, “PAIRING” will be shown on the display & it is ready for pairing with thesubwoofer or Surround speaker.
  5. Press and hold the Pair Button(around 5 seconds) on the back of subwoofer within 15 seconds after the “PAIRING” appears on the soundbar, the Pairing Indicator on the back of subwoofer will be changed to steady blue, the connection is successfully established now.
  6. Repeat the above step 4, and then Press and hold the Pair Button(around 5 seconds) on the back of main surround speaker within 15 seconds after the “PAIRING” appears, the Pairing Indicator on the front of main surround speaker will be changed to steady blue, the connection is successfully established now.

Note:

-If the subwoofer or the main surround speaker has been paired with the sound bar once before, the units will connect to each other automatically in the subsequent use.

SELECT DIFFERENT INPUT MODE

Press the /SOURCE button repeatedly on the main unit or the remote control directly to select relevant input mode.

Note:

The LED display will go off automatically if the sound bar is sitting idle and no input signals are being received for about 5 minutes, press any button once to light up the display again.

PLAYBACK WITH BLUETOOTH DEVICE

This device offers you the possibility to use a Bluetooth enabled device. The functional radius is limited to approx.10 metres depending on the surroundings and the unit used.

Logging on devices (Pairing)

Before using your speaker with a compatible device, such as a mobile phone, for the first time, you must pair and connect it to the device.

  1. Ensure, that the Bluetooth function is activated in your player (e.g. mobile phone).
  2. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button to select the Bluetooth mode. “BT” flashes to show that the pairing mode is activated.

Logging on devices (Pairing)

Before using your speaker with a compatible device, such as a mobile phone, for the first time, you must pair and connect it to the device.

  1. Ensure, that the Bluetooth function is activated in your player (e.g. mobile phone).
  2. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button to select the Bluetooth mode. “BT” flashes to show that the pairing mode is activated.

Pair the Speaker

  1.  If you haven’t paired the speaker with a device, or the paired devices list is empty, pairing mode is activated.

  2. Activate Bluetooth on the compatible device, and set it to search for compatible devices.

  3. Select the speaker name: “S5 ” from the list of found devices.
    Note: Only one playback unit can be connected to the speaker. If the speaker is already connected to another playback unit, the speaker will not appear in the Bluetooth selection list.

  4. If your device asks for a passkey (depending on the device manufacturers, model, and software version), then enter digits “0000”(four zeros) and press OK.
    If pairing has been carried out successfully, a prompt sound is heard, meanwhile, the “bT” symbol stops flashing.

  5. After connection is complete, you can listen to music wirelessly through Bluetooth and select music in Bluetooth device.

  6. Press “+”/ “–” button to raise/lower the volume level.

  7. To disconnect the Bluetooth function, switch to another function on the unit or disable the function from your Bluetooth device.

Tips:

  1. If a mobile phone on which you are playing music receives a call, the music will be interrupted. The sound however is not played back via the speaker. After you have ended the call, the devices are connected to each other again and playback continues.
  2. If there is an existing connection, press and hold the button on the remote control for 3 seconds to break the current connection and initiate pairing mode
  3. The player will also be disconnected when your device is moved beyond the operational range. If you want to reconnect your device to this player, place it within the operational range.
  4. If the device is moved beyond the operational range, when it is brought back, please check if the device is still connected to the player.
  5. If the connection is lost, follow the instructions above to pair your device to the player again.

OPTICAL/COAXIAL (DIGITAL INPUTS) OPERATION

  1. Ensure that the unit is well connected to the TV or other audio device via Optical cable (included) or Coaxial cable (excluded).
  2. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or remote control to select the OPTICAL or COAXIAL mode.
  3. Operate your audio device directly for playback features.
    Note: If there is no sound coming out from the sound bar and the status indicator light flashes quickly, make sure the audio (digital output) setting of your source player (e.g. TV, DVD player, game player) is set to PCM.

3.5MM AUX INPUTS OPERATION

  1. Ensure that the unit is well connected to the TV or other audio device via a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
  2. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or remote control to select the AUX input mode.
  3. Operate your audio device directly for playback features.

USB PLAYBACK

  1. While in Power On mode, press the /SOURCE button on the main unit or remote control to select the USB mode.
  2. Connect a USB storage device directly into the port, after a few seconds, it will start music playback automatically.
  3. Press the ” ” or ” ” button on remote control to skip to the previous or next track Note:
  • During any input mode, if you plug a USB storage device into the unit, the input mode will automatically change to USB playback mode.
