Specified Conditions of Use
The joint cleaner is intended solely for removing moss from between uncoated concrete paving stones and concrete slabs.
Not observing general regulations in force and instructions from this manual does not make the manufacturer liable for damages.

Requirements for operating staff

The appliance may only be operated and maintained by persons familiarised with it and informed about possible risks.

Never let children work with the appliance. Never let adults work with the appliance unless they have been properly trained.

The operating staff must carefully read the Operating Instructions before using the appliance.

Qualification:
Apart from the detailed instructions by a professional, no special qualification is necessary for appliance use.

Minimum age: The operating staff must carefully read the operating instructions before using the appliance. Persons over 16 years of age can only work on the appliance. An
exception includes youngsters trained in order to reach knowledge under the supervision of the trainer during occupational education.
Local regulations may stipulate the minimum age of the user.

Training:   Using the appliance only requires corresponding training by a professional or the Operating Instructions. No special training is necessary.

General Power Tool Safety Warnings

WARNING Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future refe­ rence.

The term „power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

1) Work area safety

• Keep work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmo­spheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks that may ignite dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while opera­ ting a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose

3) Personal safety

• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protec­tion used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal

4) Power tool use and care

• Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed
• Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired
• Disconnect the plug from the power source and/ or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly main­tained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
• Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazar­dous situation.
• Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

5)Service

Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

Additional Safety and Working Instructions

Bushes must be stored in suitable stands, containers or boxes in such a way that they are protected from the following effects:

Brushes must not be fitted to machines whose speed exceeds the maximum permitted brush speed.
Do not use damaged brushes.
Rust discoloration or other signs of chemical or mecha­nical change to the brush material can cause premature failure of the brush.
Bushes must be stored in suitable stands, containers, or boxes in such a way that they are protected from the following effects:

• High air humidity, heat, water, or other fluids could cause damage to the brush
• Acids or acidic fumes that could cause damage
• Temperatures that are so low that they could cause condensation to form on the brushes when taken out of storage into an area with higher temperatures
• Deformation of any part of the brush

Warning!
Wear personal protective equipment.
Always wear goggles when using the machine. Wear ear protectors!
Wear solid shoes and long trousers.

Do not wear loose clothing or jewels. Hear, clothing and gloves must be out of reach of moving parts as they could get caught by the rotating parts. Do not use the appliance when barefooted or in open sandals.
Never touch under the housing body when the engine is running.
Wear protective shoes.
Thrown-off stones or soil may lead to injuries.

Carefully check the terrain where the appliance is going to be used and remove all objects that could get caught or thrown off by the appliance such as stones, branches, wires, animals, etc.

Mains Connection

Operation is only allowed with a safety switch against stray current (RCD max. stray current of 30mA).

Connect only to single-phase AC system voltage as in­dicated on the rating plate. It is also possible to connect to sockets without an earthing contact as the design conforms to safety class 11. Only plug-in when the machine is switched off.

Maintenance

**** Unplug the machine before any work on it.
The appliance must not be used if damaged or safety equipment is defective. Replace any worn-out and damaged parts.
Caution! If the power cord of the appliance gets damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its customer service or a similarly qualified person to avoid danger.
Repairs and works specified in these Instructions may only be performed by qualified authorized staff.
Use only original accessories and original spare parts.
Keep the device, in particular the air vents, clean at all times. Never spray water on the device’s body!
Do not clean the plastics with solvents, flammable or toxic fluids. For cleaning, use a damp cloth only.
Apply environment-friendly oil to all moving parts.
Only a regularly maintained and treated appliance can serve as a satisfactory aid. Insufficient maintenance and care can lead to unforeseen accidents and injuries.

Disposal

The disposal instructions are based on the icons placed on the appliance or its package.

Do not dispose of electrical appliances in household waste.
According to the European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and elec­tronic equipment and transposition into national law, used electrical equipment must be collected separately and sent for environmentally sound recycling.

Recycling alternative to the return request:
As an alternative to returning the equip­ment to the manufacturer, the owner of the electrical equipment must make sure that the equipment is properly disposed of if he no longer wants to keep it. The old equipment can be returned to a suitable collection point that will dispose of the equipment in accordance with the national recycling and waste disposal regulations.
This does not apply to any accessories or aids without electrical components supplied with the old equipment.

Transport packaging disposal
The packaging protects the machine against damage during transport. Packaging materials are usually chosen based on environmental aspects and waste treatment principles and are therefore recyclable. Returning the pa­ckaging into material circulation saves raw materials and reduces waste production. Parts of packaging (e.g. foils, styropor) can be dangerous for children.

Risk of suffocation!
Keep parts of the packaging out of reach of children and dispose of them as soon as possible.

Guarantee

The warranty period of 12 months applies to commercial use and 24 months applies to private use and commences on the day of purchase of the device.

The guarantee solely covers inadequacies caused by ma­terial defect or manufacturing defect. An original payment voucher with the sales data needs to be submitted for any claim in the guarantee period.

The guarantee does not cover any unauthorized use such as appliance overloading, use of violence, damage as a result of any unauthorized interference or caused by foreign items. Failing to follow the operating and assem­bly instructions and common wear are also not included in the guarantee.

Important information for the customer

Please note that returns within or outside the warran­ty period should always be in the original packaging. This measure effectively avoids unnecessary trans­port damage and any associated disputed ruling. Your equipment is optimally protected only in the original box, and keeping it in that box will ensure smooth processing.
