NOTE
- When you use the appliance for the first time, it might emit some smoke, a harmless odour and a small amount of particles. This does not affect the function of the appliance and does not last long.
- To remove production-related residues from the heating and water circulation system, fill the water tank 0 with water and press the steam button until the water tank 0 is approximately half empty (see section Operation).
- Hold the appliance over a washbasin or similar. In this way, the production residues are flushed out of the pipes.
- Then press the steam button again and use an old cloth to test whether residues are still coming out of the steam openings.
- If there are no more residues, the device is now ready for operation. If you can still see particles on the cloth, repeat the above procedure.
Operation
Filling the water tank
- Never fill the water tank 0 through the holes in the steam head 5.
- Never submerge the steam head 5 under water.
NOTE
- The appliance should only be used with tap water or distilled water for steaming. If your tap water is hard, we recommend that you mix it with distilled water. Otherwise, the appliance will accumulate limescale quickly. Mix the tap water with distilled water in accordance with the following table for optimal performance.
Water hardness
| Ratio of distilled water to mains water
---|---
very soft/soft| 0
medium| 1: 1
hard| 2: 1
very hard| 3: 1
Information about the level of hardness of water in your area can be obtained from your local water company.
- Never use water that contains additives (e.g. starch, perfumes, softening agents) or condensation (e.g. from dryers, refrigerators, air conditioning units or rain). These may contain organic or mineral residues that accumu-late when exposed to heat and can cause noise, brown discolouration and premature failure of the appliance.
- Remove the mains plug from the power socket if connected.
- Remove the water tank 0 from the appliance by pressing the release buttons 7 on the left and right side and then pulling the water tank 0 straight out of the appliance (fig. A).
- Open the lid 9 and fill the water tank 0 (fig. B). The MAX mark indicates the maximum fill level.
- Close the lid 9 and replace the water tank 0 in the appliance. The water tank 0 must audibly click into place.
Care instructions and usage recommendations
- You can use the device to treat all materials marked with these ironing symbols:
- (synthetic fibre, e.g. viscose, polyester)
- (silk, wool)
- (cotton, linen)
- If the clothing care instructions forbid ironing ( symbol), the clothing item may not be steamed with the appliance. Ignoring this warning could lead to permanent damage to the clothing item.
- Do not treat leather, velvet, waterproofed furniture or fabrics that are sensitive to steam. Doing so could damage the textile or the piece of furniture.
- Before using the appliance, familiarise yourself with the manufacturer’s care instructions on the label of your clothing.
- If are not sure whether you should steam the clothing, test the appliance on a non-visible part of the clothing first, e.g. on the inseam.
- Apply the clothes brush 4 to the fabric gently and use slow movements.
- Avoid any direct contact between the steam head 5 and silk or velour.
- Heavier fabrics may need to be steamed for longer.

Press the steam button 6 and start at the top of the garment. Move the steam head 5 slowly downwards.
NOTE -
For the continuous steam output, you can also lock the steam button 6 by sliding it downwards.

- Switch the appliance on.
- Hang the item to be ironed on a coat hanger and pull it taut with one hand. Steam the garment evenly from top to bottom.

- Before cleaning the appliance, always remove the plug from the socket and allow the appliance to cool down completely. Otherwise, there is a risk of burns.
