  • If not using an external humidifier, connect the HMEF to the ResMed Leak Valve.
  • The ResMed Leak Valve or the HMEF can be connected to standardized tracheostomy interfaces including connector pieces like catheter mounts.
  • The catheter mount and the external humidifier are not part of the ResMed component.

Turning the ventilator on/off

  • To turn the ventilator on, press the power switch at the rear of the device. Wait until the Treatment screen is displayed.
  • To turn the ventilator off, press the power switch at the rear of the device. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Accessing Clinical mode

Press and simultaneously for three seconds until the duration options appear. Follow the onscreen instructions. To return to the Patient menu, press simultaneously for at least three seconds.

Treatment settings

Yellow arrows display at the top or bottom of the pressure bar graph will show if a machine trigger or cycle occured. If the inspiratory phase extends beyond the spontaneous cycle by Ti Min, a red arrow is displayed. Selecting the mask type and performing a Learn circuit enables to calculate the impedance and leak for controlled therapy pressure.

Learn Circuit configuration
Do not connect patient interfaces prior to performing the Learn Circuit. Patient interfaces include any components placed after the ResMed Leak Valve (eg, HMEF, catheter mount, tracheostomy tube).
