Safety and Warnings

WARNING:
TO AVOID SERIOUS INJURY

  • Continuous adult supervision is required.
  • Never use near motor vehicles.
  • Never use near streets, swimming pools, hills, steps, or sloped driveways.
  • Always wear shoes when using the tricycle.
  • Allow only one rider.
  • Minimum age of rider shall be 2 years.
  • Maximum age of rider shall be 5 years.
  • Maximum weight of rider shall be 55 lbs. (25 kg).
  • Rider should always wear a properly fitted helmet that complies with Federal helmet (16CFR1203) requirements.
  • Do not load the basket with more than 4.4 lbs. (2 kg). Excessive weight may cause a hazardous or unstable condition.
  • Adult assembly required. Package contains small parts. Keep children away from product while assembling.
  • Tools required (included): Allen wrench and open end wrench.

Parts List

Assembly

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please refer to the end of this manual for all photos that are referenced in parentheses in the instructions below.

Unpacking the Product

  • Remove everything from the box – Frame, Handlebar, Front Wheel, Basket, Seat with Restraint System, Push Handle (2 parts), Rear Wheels (2), 6mm Allen wrench and 8mm/10mm open end wrench.
  • Discard all packaging materials properly including plastic coverings.
  • DO NOT allow children to play with any packaging materials.

Unfolding the Product

  • Locate the push button on the right side of the frame. (1)
  • Press the push button and pull the basket and rear wheels outward to unfold the product. (2)
  • Ensure the unfolded product locks into place securely.

Front Wheel Assembly

  • Keep children away from product while assembling.
  • Insert the front wheel tube into the front of the tricycle frame until it clicks into place. (3)

Handlebar Assembly

  • Unfasten and remove the nut and bolt on the handlebar. (4)
  • Orient the handlebar as shown and slide it down onto the top of the front wheel tube, lining up the holes in the handlebar with the holes in the tube. (5)
  • From the front of the product, hold the cap up out of the way and push the bolt through the handlebar and tube holes. (6)
  • While still holding the cap out of the way, attach the nut to the bolt. (7)
  • While holding the bolt, use the larger end of the open end wrench to tighten the nut securely. (8)
  • Ensure the handlebar is secure by slightly wiggling it.
  • Push the cap down into place. (9)

Rear Wheel Assembly/Disassembly

  • Insert one rear wheel into one end of the rear axle tube of the frame until it clicks into place. (10)
  • Repeat on the other side.
  • Pull on each wheel to ensure it is securely attached.
  • To remove each rear wheel, push the release tab on the rear axle and pull the wheel away from the tricycle. (11)

Seat Assembly

  • Remove the seat screw from the frame. (12)

  • Insert the seat screw through the hole in the seat. (13)

  • Pull the restraint system crotch strap toward and around the front of the seat and then underneath the seat. Then push the seat screw through the hole in this strap. (14)
    Note: Be sure the crotch strap is not twisted.

  • The seat can be installed in two different positions.

  • Place the seat at the desired position on the frame to accommodate the size of your child and align the seat screw with the appropriate hole in the frame. (15)

  • Use the Allen wrench to tighten the screw securely. (16)

  • Pull up on the seat to ensure it is securely attached.

Basket Assembly

  • Unfasten and remove the nut, washer and bolt from the frame bar just behind the push handle tube. (17)

  • Orient the basket as shown and place it over the push handle tube. (18)

  • Squeeze the spring clips and then push the basket down on this tube past these clips. (19)

  • Insert the bolt down through the hole in the basket and then all the way through the hole in the tube. (20)

  • Attach the washer and then the nut to the bolt and tighten the nut using the larger end of the open end wrench. (21)
    Note: It may be easier to do this if you turn the product on its side.

  • Pull up on the basket to ensure it is securely attached.

Push Handle Assembly

  • Orient the top and bottom sections of the push handle as shown. (22)
  • Squeeze the spring clips and insert the top section into the bottom section until it clicks into place and the spring clips pop through the holes. (23)
  • Orient the push handle as shown onto the push handle tube of the frame. (24)
  • Squeeze the spring clips on the push handle and lower it onto the push handle tube until it clicks into place and the spring clips pop through the holes. (25)
  • Pull up the push handle to ensure it is securely attached.

Operation

Securing a Child in the Seat

  • Press the button on the center buckle of the harness assembly to release the waist straps and crotch strap. (26)
  • Place your child on the seat and position their legs through both waist straps and crotch strap.
  • Reinsert both waist strap connectors into the center buckle. (27)
  • The waist straps may be adjusted using the sliding plastic rings. Make sure the waist straps fit snugly around the child.

Unlocking the Front Wheel Pedals

  • To unlock the front wheel pedals, turn the switch on the side of the front wheel CLOCKWISE until a click is heard. (28)
  • Check to ensure that the front wheel does not rotate when pedals are rotated.

Locking the Front Wheel Pedals

  • To lock the front wheel pedals, turn the switch on the side of the front wheel COUNTERCLOCKWISE until a click is heard. (29)
  • Check to ensure the pedals rotate the front wheel.

Removing the Push Handle

  • Squeeze the spring clips on the push handle tube and pull the push handle upwards off of the tube. (30) SAVE THE PUSH HANDLE FOR FUTURE USE.

Folding the Product for Storage or Travel

  • Remove the child from the product.
  • Also remove the push handle.
  • Locate the push button on the right side of the frame. (31)
  • Press the button while pushing the basket and rear wheels inward toward the front wheel to fold the product. (32)

Care & Maintenance

Maintenance
All of the fittings, locks, rivets, other hardware, and plastic parts on the product should be inspected periodically to ensure that they are properly secured and not damaged or malfunctioning. All moving parts should also be checked periodically to ensure that they are operating properly. Any missing, broken, or damaged components should be replaced immediately, and the product should not be used until they are replaced. Only the manufacturer’s original components should be used. If needed, please contact Joovy (USA) or Elfe (Canada) at our toll-free phone number. Color fading may occur if the product is left in direct sunlight for long periods of time. When not in use, store the product out of direct sunlight.

Cleaning
The plastic parts and fabric straps on this product can be cleaned using mild household soap and warm water on a sponge or clean cloth. Always allow the product to air dry completely before using it.
The frame and wheels should always be kept clean and free of dirt and foreign matter, especially after operating the product in rain, snow, or other harsh environments. Use a sponge or cloth dampened with warm water and mild household soap.

Storage
Direct sunlight may dry out wheels. Store products indoors to prolong its original appearance. DO NOT store outdoors. Ensure that the product is dry before storing it for prolonged periods. Always store the product in a dry, safe environment. DO NOT place heavy objects on top of the product. DO NOT store the product near a direct heat source such as a radiator or open fire.
