Special safety instructions for the battery

  • To ensure the longest life and best performance of the battery pack, always charge it at temperatures between 18-24°C. Do not charge the battery when the temperature is below 0°C or above 40°C. This is important. Failure to observe this safety rule may cause serious damage to the battery pack.
  • Do not burn the battery, even if it is badly damaged or cannot hold a charge. The battery may explode in a fire.
  • With extreme use or temperature, a small amount of liquid may leak from the battery. This is not necessarily a sign of a battery failure. However, if the outer seal is broken and this leakage comes into contact with your skin:
  • Wash the affected area quickly with soap and water.
  • Neutralise the liquid with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the leakage gets into your eyes:
  • Flush your eyes with clean water for at least 10 minutes and get medical attention immediately.
  • Never try to open the battery pack for any reason. If the plastic housing of the battery pack breaks or tears, stop using it immediately and do not recharge it.
  • Do not store or carry a spare battery pack in a pocket, tool box or anywhere else where it could come into contact with metal objects. It may cause a short-circuit, resulting in damage to the battery pack, burns or fire. When storing or disposing of the battery pack, cover the terminals with a heavy-duty insulating tape to prevent short circuits. Batteries will discharge when stored for long periods of time.
  • Do not store or operate the device and the battery pack in places where the temperature can reach 40°C or more, such as next to sheds or metal structures in summer.
  • Let the battery cool down after charging. Do not place it in a hot environment, such as a metal shed or an open trailer parked in the sun.
  • Charge the battery only with the supplied charger.
  • Do not place the battery near a fire or in a place where the temperature is high.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or any other liquid. This may damage the battery prematurely.
  • When transporting batteries, make sure that their contacts are protected and that materials likely to come into contact with them and cause a short circuit are properly insulated.
  • Store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and excessively cold or hot temperatures.
  • If the battery has not been used for a long time, charge it before using it again
  • The battery should be disposed of safely.
