Introduction

Beauty specialists have long been familiar with the rejuvenating qualities of LED skin treatment, but it is just starting to become popular at select few salons in the U.S. The LED, or Light Emitting Diode, beauty system is used to help speed up the production of collagen and elastin, leading to beautifully smooth and acne-free skin. Follow these instructions and learn how to best use the LumaPro

What is LED?

Light Emitting Diode (LED) is a specialized type of light waveform used in everything from traffic signals to household appliances. For our beauty system, we carefully select the wavelength, power, and color best suited for beautification.

When undergoing LED treatment, the user MUST use the supplied safety goggles in order to protect their vision. Also note that it is recommended that the user keep their eyes closed during the treatment process. Please discontinue your use of the LED treatment system if you experience any.

Can you treat areas other than the face with the LED treatment system?

Absolutely, the LumaPro has three large light panels that are designed to reach, and treat, a variety of areas. Please note that protective goggles should be worn even when treating other parts of the body, such as the top of the head, back, chest, or buttocks.

What is the recommended treatment time?

Treatment time is based on the type of treatment and your skin condition. In general, we recommend 20-minute periods of LED treatment each day over an extended period of time. Do not overexpose your skin with long treatment sessions.The LumaPro will make a “beep” noise every minute of treatment.

Are any treatment modes unsuitable for acne?

If the acne is inflamed, we recommend using only the Acne Treatment Mode (blue light).

Which treatment mode is better for everyday treatment?

Is there a problem with using multiple LED treatment modes in a single treatment session.

There is a perfect treatment for every season. We suggest using Program A for spring and summer, and Program B for autumn and winter. If you are using a different mode of treatment, it is recommended that you do so for no longer than 30 minutes per treatment.

Is there any pain associated with the treatment?

This is a non-contact, safe beauty system that should not cause any

direct pain. However, it is recommended that the user moisturize their skin after the treatment.

LED High-Output Power

Our unique optical design (patent pending) improves effectiveness and broadens the scope of the treatment by allowing the user to adjust the angle and direction of the LED light. The optimal distance to place the LED panels is between 10-15 cm from the area being treated. The system is designed to create a double reflection between the mirror plate and the skin‘s surface, enhancing the illumination rate by 120-130% – making this a highly effective system overall.

Safety Information

You must read, and understand all of the safety warnings, operating and maintenance instructions before using the LumaPro. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may cause serious injury, damage to the device or void the warranty.

Precautions:

Always check the device before use to ensure it is undamaged. Use of a damaged device can be unsafe.
Stop immediately, if you experience any adverse effect or have a concern regarding use.
Do not look directly or shine light in the eyes while in operation.
Do not use on eyelids; do not place the light over eyelids.
Do not use if you are pregnant.
Do not use if you have experienced a migraine in the last two years.
Do not use over any suspicious or cancerous lesion. Consult your doctor.
Do not use the device while using any product that contains AHA or glycolic acid. This can cause unwanted levels of stress in the skin.
Do not allow children to use the device unsupervised.
Always unplug the device correctly by holding the plug and removing it from the electrical socket.
Remember that improper maintenance or negligence can cause damage and void the warranty. This also refers to improper storage.

Safety Instructions

Read these instructions, hold onto them, follow them, and always heed all warnings.
Never use the device near water or areas of concentrated humidity.
Disinfect the LED surface cover with a soft cloth and a light concen- tration of rubbing alcohol. Carefully clean the machine of all types of skin oil.
Always use the device in line with the manufacturer’s regulations, and never block any of the ventilation openings on the side of the device. Dispose of all products in accordance with local and national regulations and codes.
Do not use if you are sensitive to light. If you are unsure whether you have increased sensitivity to light, we recommend you perform the Light Sensitivity Test instructed in this manual.
Do no use if you are taking drugs known to make you sensitive to light. You may be sensitive to light and not know it.There are photo- sensitizing agents in drugs, food, soaps, cosmetics, and dyes.
Drugs that are known to cause light sensitivity: Antibiotics; NSAIDS; Diures; Retinoids; Hypoglycemics, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins), Photodynamic Therapy drugs, Prophoto sensitizers, Neuroleptic drugs, or Antifungals.
Do not use over or near a recent steroid injection. Doing so may result in photosensitive reaction.

Warning

Discontinue use if you encounter any discomfort or skin redness that lasts for more than two hours. You may have sensitivity to light or another condition. Consult your health care provider.
Never operate this device it has damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or submerged in water. Return the device to Project E Beauty for examination and repair.
Do not set or keep the device where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. Keep away from water (including bath and shower). If the device accidentally falls in water unplug immediately.
Keep away from flammable aerosol products.
Do not use other AC Power Supplies or Chargers with your device.
Turn off immediately, if the device begins to overheat.
Use of the device around jewelry and metal may cause unexpected electrical shock. Always remove all jewelry and metal prior to a treatment.

Contraindications

DO NOT USE if one of the following pertains to you.

Light Sensitivity: Do not use if you are sensitive to light. You are sensitive to light if you experience any discomfort or skin redness that lasts more than two hours. Discontinue using the device and consult with your healthcare provider.

Implantable Device: Do not use this device if you have a cardiac pace- maker, implanted defibrillator, shunt or other implanted electronic device. This device contains magnets that may cause interference with these devices resulting in serious injury or death.

Pregnant: Do not use if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant. The device has not been tested on pregnant women and the effects, if any, are unknown.

Migraine: Do not use if you have experienced a migraine in the last two years.

Seizures: Do not use if you have a history of light triggered seizures.

Lesions: Do not use this device over any suspicious or cancerous lesions. To do so may result in delaying the best medical treatment.

Failure to use and maintain the LED device in accordance with the instructions outlined in this manual will invalidate the warranty.

Light Sensitivity Test

Recommended Before Use

In order to determine if you have a Light Sensitivity Issue please follow the instructions below. It is recommended that you test a small, less sensitive area of skin (i.e., like your forearm).

Press the“ON/OFF”button to turn on the LumaPro and press “Color”buttons to activate the light.
Place the device on an area of the forearm. Leave in contact with your skin for a 3-minute treatment cycle.
Repeat by doing another 3-minute treatment on the same area of your arm.
Wait 24 hours. You should NOT experience any adverse reaction during the next 24 hours.

A bad reaction to light occurs if you have pain or discomfort in the treat- ment areas or any skin redness for more than two hours. It can be due to medication, supplements, or a possible skin issue.

Eye Safety

Tie the elastic band so that the goggles fit comfortably

It is NOT recommended to shine the light source directly into eyes or the eyes of others.

Device Usage

Description of button(s) for the desired treatment:

Wrinkle Removal
Press the red button for wrinkle removal.
A high-purity red light penetrates the skin‘s surface to increase microcirculation by actinochemistry, stimulating metabolism and rejuvenation. Red light treatment can be effective for increasing collagen, rapidly removing waste products and dead cells from skin tissue, and stimulating the production of fibroblast growth factor in order to repair damaged skin, soften small wrinkles, regain elasticity, and improve the overall complexion, leaving skin soft, moist, and smooth.
Wrinkle Removal

Skin Rejuvenation
Press the yellow button for skin rejuvenation.
High-purity yellow light, paired with powerful deep- vein light absorption, revitalizes the lymphatic and nervous systems and strengthens the muscular and immunological systems, simultaneously improving and balancing sensitive skin. Yellow light improves microcirculation, adjusts factors, and inhibits melanin production in order to fade dark spots, freckles, and blemishes. This method of skin rejuvenation is recommended ad an effective treatment for skin problems caused by age and sun exposure.

Acne Treatment
Press the blue button to treat acne.
High-purity blue light, which is particularly effective for absorbing the Propionibacteriaceae in acne, permeates 0.25mm under the skin’s surface before beginning the process of cell sterilization: destroying the habitat of bacillus that live in the skin. After sterilizing the area, the blue light treatment also soothes inflammation to remove acne as well as existing scars. If applied to the glabella (the area of skin on the upper nose, between the eyebrows) blue light can have a calming, relaxing effect on the body.

Press the red and blue buttons to treat acne and remove wrinkles at the same time.
The combination of the high-purity red and blue lights combine to illuminate a purple light that provides the individual benefits of the red and blue lights as well penetrating the skin’s surface to promote relaxation and improve lymph metabolism.

Skin Rejuvenation & Acne Treatment
Press the blue and yellow buttons to rejuvenate the skin and treat acne at the same time.
The combination of the high-purity blue and yellow lights combine to illuminate a cyan light that provides the individual benefits of the blue and yellow lights as well as provides gentle acne treatment and skin inflammation mitigation.

Press the yellow and red buttons to rejuvenate the skin and remove wrinkles at the same time.
The combination of the high-purity yellow and red lights combine to illuminate an orange light that provides the individual benefits of the yellow and red lights as well as improves skin muscle flexibility, the immune system, and the neural system.

Press all the buttons to rejuvenate the skin, remove wrinkles, and treat acne at the same time.
The combination of the high-purity yellow, red, and blue lights combine to illuminate a moderate dark red light that provided the individual benefits of the yellow, red, and blue lights.

Using the Preset Modes

Warning! Safety goggles must be worn when facing the unit during treatment.

Mode A
Use mode A to improve:

Acne caused by poor diet and stress.
Wrinkles and skin darkening, or lighting, caused by sun exposure and age (i.e.: pigmentation).

The total duration of the treatment is 9 minutes (3 min yellow, 3 min red, 3 blue).

Mode B
Use mode B to improve:

Hepatosteatosis, a skin problem caused by a buildup of fat in the liver.
Wrinkles due to lack of sleep and age that cause the skin to loosen and sag.
Dry skin caused by cold air during winter months (note: air conditioning can have similar effect.)

The total duration of the treatment is 8 minutes (4 min yellow, 4 min blue).

The LED light system can be used at home, at work, or on the go, so that users can have the most advanced beauty technology wherever they are. The system has been updated from our traditional model, so that it can be folded up to a height of just 7.5cm.
