Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the LumaGlow Red LED Light Therapy Device (Model No. PE731). This device utilizes Red LED Photon to treat a variety of skin conditions. Unlike other beauty devices, this device provides high-quality LED photon treatment that has been scientifically validated, so you can achieve efficient results faster than you ever imagined.

Photon light therapy works by using the natural healing properties present in different wavelengths of light to treat various skin tissue issues. These state-of-the-art LEDs provide the purest light possible, especially compared to systems that use more traditional bulbs. Modern semiconductor technology has allowed dermatologists to perfect what wavelengths of light are generated, meaning more of the healing energy of the light reaches the skin tissue.

Exposing the skin’s tissue surface to light activates natural photoreceptors and allows the skin cell to absorb the energy found in the light. This process accelerates biochemical reactions in the skin tissue, ultimately, leading to faster healing times, while increasing the production of collagen. This can reverse some of the more heinous effects of aging.

This technology is safe. Cosmetology experts agree these treatments have no noticeable side effects if they’re administered correctly. Treatment methods provided by the LED photon device are an important component of a complete skincare routine and should only be used for cosmetic purposes. Red Light(~630nm): This setting allows the device to penetrate the skin more deeply. Red light penetrates the skin approximately 8-10 mm, which stimulates the cells that lie at this layer. Many are fiber cells, and stimulating them can aid in the production of collagen. It can reduce wrinkles and make skin elastic and smooth. It’s ideal for improving skin in the area around the eyes and forehead. It works well to cut down on fine lines. Those who need to repair damaged skin will opt for this setting.

Precautions:

Read all instructions before using your LumaGlow Red Light Therapy Device and make sure you understand all of the operating instructions.
Always check the device before use to ensure it is undamaged. Use of a damaged device can be unsafe.
Stop immediately, if you experience any adverse effect or have a concern regarding use.
Do not look directly or shine light in the eyes while in operation.
Do not use on eyelids; do not place the light over eyelids.
Do not use if you are pregnant.
Do not use if you have experienced a migraine in the last two years.
Do not use over any suspicious or cancerous lesion. Consult your doctor.
Do not use the device while using any product that contains AHA or glycolic acid. This can cause unwanted levels of stress in the skin.
Do not allow children to use the device unsupervised.
Remember that improper maintenance or negligence can cause damage and void the warranty. This also refers to improper storage.

Safety Instructions

Read these instructions, hold onto them, follow them, and always heed all warnings.
Never use the device near water or areas of concentrated humidity.
Always use the device in line with the manufacturer’s regulations, and never block any of the ventilation openings on the side of the device.
Dispose of all products in accordance with local and national regulations and codes.
Do not use if you are sensitive to light. If you are unsure whether you have increased sensitivity to light, we recommend you perform the Light Sensitivity Test instructed in this manual.
Do not use if you are taking drugs known to make you sensitive to light. You may be sensitive to light and not know it. There are photosensitizing agents in drugs, foods, soaps, cosmetics, and dyes.
Drugs that are known to cause light sensitivity: Antibiotics; NSAIDS; Diures; Retinoids; Hypoglycemics, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins), Photodynamic Therapy drugs, Prophoto sensitizers, Neuroleptic drugs, or Antifungals.
Do not use over or near a recent steroid injection. Doing so may result in photosensitive reaction.
Do not use any detergent or liquid to clean the surface of this product. Clean the LEDs surface with a dry cloth when needed.
This product has a special lacquer – when cleaning, do not use any corrosive solution which may cause damage to the lacquer or appearance.
Do not place this product near strong magnetic or electric fields – this may cause the product failure.
Due to hygienic reasons, do not share this product with other people.
It is recommended that you completely use the initial charge up, then recharge the product at least two more times to ensure the best possible performance.
A rechargeable battery can be charged and discharged over hundreds of times. However, it will eventually wear out–this is not a defect and corresponds to normal everyday use. When the operating or standby time is noticeably shorter, it may be a sign that the battery has reached the end of its life span.

Warning

Discontinue use if you encounter any discomfort or skin redness that lasts for more than two hours. You may have sensitivity to light or another condition. Consult your health care provider.
Never operate this device it has damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or submerged in water. Return the device to Project E Beauty for examination and repair.
Do not set or keep the device where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink.
Keep away from water (including bath and shower). If the device accidentally falls in water unplug immediately.
Keep away from flammable aerosol products.
Do not use this product in hazardous locations.
Turn off immediately, if the device begins to overheat.

Contraindications

DO NOT USE if one of the following pertains to you.
Light Sensitivity: Do not use if you are sensitive to light. You are sensitive to light if you experience any discomfort or skin redness that
lasts more than two hours. Discontinue using the device and consult with your healthcare provider.
Pregnant: Do not use if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant. The device has not been tested on pregnant women and the effects, if any, are unknown.
Migraine: Do not use if you have experienced a migraine in the last two years.
Seizures: Do not use if you have a history of light triggered seizures.
Lesions: Do not use this device over any suspicious or cancerous lesions.
To do so may result in delaying the best medical treatment.
Failure to use and maintain the LED device in accordance with the instructions outlined in this manual will invalidate the warranty

Light Sensitivity Test

Recommended Before Use

In order to determine if you have a Light Sensitivity Issue please follow the instructions below. It is recommended that you test a small, less sensitive area of skin (i.e., like your forearm).

Press the “Start/Stop” button to turn on the device and then press the “Timer” button to set 3-minute duration of treatment.
Place the device on an area of the forearm. Leave in contact with your skin for a 3-minute treatment cycle.
Repeat by doing another 3-minute treatment on the same area of your arm.
Wait 24 hours. You should NOT experience any adverse reaction during the next 24 hours.

A bad reaction to light occurs if you have pain or discomfort in the treatment areas or any skin redness for more than two hours. It can be due to medication, supplements, or a possible skin issue.

Eye Safety

Position the goggles over your eyes
Tie the elastic band so that the goggles fit comfortably.
It is NOT recommended to shine the light source directly into eyes or the eyes of others.

Use of the Device

Follow these steps to ensure proper operation during a treatment:
Before you first use the device, charge it for 3 hours.
For charging:
Simply connect the USB cable to common 5V USB power source. Connect the cable to the charging jack on the device.
Battery Indicator:
Low Battery: Green LED blinks
During Charging: Red LED stay on
Battery Full: Red LED goes out
Insert the red LED head into the main unit 2 and hear the pop sound when it fits.
Clean the surface with a dry cloth if necessary. Make sure your face is clean, dry, and wiped free of any oil or cosmetics before using the device.
Put on the goggles before the treatment.

Press the “Start/Stop” button to turn on the light and default to the last selected working mode.
Treatment Time Setting:
Press the “Timer” button to set the desired treatment time (1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 12 minutes or 120 minutes).
Pulse Light Mode:
In any operating mode, press “Pulse” button to enter pules mode. It provides short specific pulse of light energy, which enhances the treatments. Press “Pulse” button again to return to the constant light.
Hold the device away from the skin about 2-3cm, slowly move around for 3 minutes per treatment area.
The suggested operating time is between 10 and 15 minutes. Four times a week to start. Once you have achieved your initial goals, you may drop down to use the device only twice a week.
In any operating mode, press the “Start/Stop” button, it will beep three times consecutively and then turn off.

Maintenance

Do not use any detergent or liquid to clean the surface of product.
Clean the device surface with a soft dry cloth after each use.
Immediately dry the surface any time it comes into contact with moisture, chemicals, or water.
Always keep the device clean and sterilized.
Store the device in a clean and dry place.
