ALPINE iLX-F905D Halo9 9-Inch Media Receiver
Firmware Update Instructions
The Firmware must be updated with one USB device. There is one firmware update file for the current Alpine radio generation:
- iLX-F905D, iLX-F115D, iLX-705D& i905D.
First, please download the “iLX-F905D_USB-Stick.zip” and follow the instructions. The iLX-F905D iLX-F115D iLX-705D i905D can be updated via USB 1 connection (see connection diagram below). Before starting the update, please check following notes. The download file is compressed in zip format. The contents of the download files need to be extracted to a freshly formatted USB device (FAT32). The update takes 5 to 10 minutes.

Notes
- Do NOT use the compressed file for update, otherwise the unit cannot recognize the files.
- Do NOT change folder name and file names, otherwise the unit cannot recognize the files.
- Do NOT store the folder inside another folder.
- Do NOT store any other folders/files on the USB device.
- Do NOT remove the USB device while updating.
- Do NOT update while driving.
- Do NOT press any buttons while updating.
- Do NOT turn off the vehicle’s ignition or head unit’s power switch while updating.
Modern vehicles will shut down the ignition (ACC) afier some time if the engine is not running. fyou are not sure if this applies to your car, leave the engine idling while the update is in progress.

Installing the Update Software (USB Stick)

Store the downloaded and extracted files iLx-F905D_USB-Stick.zip” on the empty USB device in the Root Folder (see left figure).

Turn on the vehicle’s ignition to turn on the Alpine Head Unit.

Press the “Menu” button (Hard Key) on the Alpine Head Unit to enter the settings.
Press the “Setup” button an screen and then press “System” an screen -
Now press the “About” button on the screen. In the About menu, you will see the current Firmware Version and the “Update” button for executing the firmware update. Now press the “Update” button.

Connect the USB stick to the USB port: USB 1 2.4A Android Auto of your Alpine Head Unit (see picture pace before. below right). Press “OK” to start the update.
,Checking the update file…” can take up to 60 seconds. -
After checking the update file on USB stick, a screen with the pre-installed and the new firmware, Current Version and New Version is displayed.

Press the “Update” button again to start the update.

Press” Yes” button when update message appears on the screen.
Update will be completed in around 3 minutes. -
The update is finished when the screen (see picture right) is displayed. Press the “OK” button. The Alpine Head Unit will reboot automatically.

Remove the USB device from Alpine Head Unit.

Reset the Alpine Head Unit by clicking: Menu Setup System About Clear AlI Settings: Press the “Resef” button.
Attention: All personal audio settings will be deleted! -
Press the “OK” button again when the message appears on the screen.

The Alpine Head Unit will reboot automatically.

Check firmware version in Setup: Menu Setup > System About Firmware Version. If “Firmware Version” number is displayed as ,1.1.250″ in SETUP menu (see picture right) of the Alpine Head Unit, this update procedure has been successful.
