Note: Never work on the product while it is connected to a power source. Before working on the product, switch off the upstream power supply.
Presentation
The GNSS interface allows using a standard RF antenna to synchronize a Netsilon 9/11 time server. It is important to use an RF antenna type :
- compatible with the constellations on which the user wants the time server to be synchronized,
- with the following characteristics: 5V power supply, 80mA max / N-type connector.
The connection between the RF antenna and the interface is provided via a coaxial cable while the connection between the interface and the time server is provided via an Ethernet type cable. LEDs indicate the power status of the interface and the synchronization status of the antenna.
Mechanical installation
The product is designed for an indoor installation on a DIN rail. Attach the product to the rail using the dedicated mounting clip on the back of the product.
Electrical connections
Connect the RF antenna and the GNSS interface using a coaxial cable type
LMR-400 or equivalent (depending on the antenna used, the cable length should
not exceed 100 meters).
Connect the GNSS interface and the time server using an Ethernet RJ45 cable,
its length should not exceed 1200 metres. The GNSS interface is powered via
this cable if the cable length does not exceed 500 metres.
Beyond this cable length, the GNSS interface must be supplied via a 24
V +/-2 V, 500 mA power supply. You do not need
to observe any correct polarity.
We recommend the following type of Ethernet cable :
-
Straight Ethernet cable, Shielding: U/FTP minimum
Gauge: AWG 23/24/26: up to 1200m max, AWG 28 : up to 750m max
LED indicators provide information on the status of the product: -
The green LED on the RJ45 connector indicates the status of the power supply via the Ethernet cable:
- LED on : valid power supply,
- LED off: no power supply.
-
The status of the red LED indicates the status of the synchronization:
- Flashing rapidly when the antenna is not yet synchronized (searching for signal),
- Flashes once per second when the antenna is synchronized,
- Extinguished if there is no power.
-
The status of the green LED close to the 24V power connector indicates the status of this power supply:
Maintenance
There are no user-serviceable components in this product. Contact BODET customer service if the product needs to be repaired or replaced. Do not open the equipment. Clean the product with a clean dry cloth.
