Bodet 607794A Digital Clocks Instruction Manual
Initial verification
Thank you for choosing a BODET Style clock support bracket kit.
Non-contractual data. Bodet reserves the right to make certain functional, technical, design and colour changes to its devices without prior notice.
This manual refers to support brackets for clocks in the BODET Style II range.
Safety instructions
The metal parts that make up the bracket must be connected to the earth if the
clocks are powered by the mains. A 16A phase-neutral rapidly accessible
circuit breaker must be used in the power line for protection and to allow for
the disconnection of the power during maintenance operations.
The powering up of the equipment can only be done after completion of the
installation. The screws and wall plugs must be adapted to the nature of the
wall where the bracket is to be installed. The fastening must be able to hold
3 times the weight of the clocks (minimun 5 Kg).
Installation
The visuals below refer to double sided support brackets for flag-mounted Style 10 clocks. However, the assembly principle is identical for the entire Style II range. Several specific features will be added for each model (e.g.: earth wiring for Style 10 and 10S).
Some reference numbers (screws, nuts, etc.) given in this document relate to the double sided support bracket for Style 10/10S (ref.: 946005): match the hardware reference numbers with the parts list for the bracket you are installing.
Please refer to the technical features on page 11 for the relevant dimensions.
Step 1: Choosing the type of installation you need
Use cutting pliers to cut out the blanking plate on the bracket at the desired place (cut through the areas circled in red below).
Suspended installation:
Cut out the blanking plate on the longest flange of the support bracket.
Flag-mounted installation:
Cut out the blanking plate on the shortest flange of the support bracket.
Step 2: Closing up the support bracket
-
Route the power supply cable and synchronisation cable (for wired clocks) into the support tube. This cable comes from the client installation (not supplied by Bodet).
-
Mount the bracket arm to the wall (see page 11 for screw hole distances).
-
Fit the spacers* to one of the two bracket side plates using the screws (ref.: 601070) through the holes located opposite the cut out blanking plate.
Example showing the bracket side plate for a flag-mounted installation:
NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU PLACE THE SPACER FLATS PARALLEL TO THE BRACKET ARM. -
Fit bracket side plates 1 and 2 to the bracket arm. Using the two screws supplied, screw the second side plate into the spacers on the first.
for these clock models only: Style 10/10S/10D/10SD
Step 3: Electrical connections
NTP-PoE Clocks
Single sided:
The cabling is done directly from the client’s Ethernet network
Double Sided:
Connect the Ethernet cable from the client’s network to the RJ45 socket of one
clock (master). Connect the supplied RJ12 cable to the RJ12 sockets of both
clocks.
100-240 VAC Clocks
Single sided:
Grounding
CAUTION: If the bracket arm requires shortening, the earth connection must
be moved and reconnected to the bracket arm. For aesthetic purposes, refit the
earth cable lug near the cut-off so that it is hidden by the clock.
Power supply and synchronisation connections
The power supply and synchronisation connections are done directly form the
client installation wiring.
Double sided:
Grounding
CAUTION: If the bracket arm requires shortening, the earth connection must
be moved and reconnected to the bracket arm. For aesthetic purposes, refit the
earth cable lug near the cut-off so that it is hidden by the clock.
Power supply and synchronisation connections
Power supply
Use the blue and brown cable kits to connect the power to the electronic synchronisation cards of both clocks.
AFNOR and IMP synchronition signal
Use the white and grey cable kits to connect the synchronisation signal to the electronic synchronisation cards of both clocks.
Step 4: Clock bracket and cover
Mount the brackets using the 4 screws (ref. 601104) and the 4 nuts (ref.601213).
Single sided: connect the grounding wire (Style 10 only) to the terminal block, insert the spacers (ref 607869) and mounts the cover using the 2 screws (ref. 601071).
NOTE: THE PURPOSE OF THE COVER IS TO HIDE THE ELECTRICAL WIRING.
