Dear customer, thank you for purchasing our product. Please read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep these instructions including the warranty, the receipt, and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.

Safety Instructions

  • Check whether the data on the type label corresponds with the voltage in your socket. The power cord plug has to be connected to the properly connected and grounded socket according.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

  • Before replacing accessories or accessible parts, which move during operation, before assembly and disassembly, before cleaning or maintenance, turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains by pulling the power cord from the power socket!

  • Do not leave the appliance plugged into the power supply without supervision!

  • If the power cord of the appliance is corrupted, it has to be replaced by the manufacturer, its service technician, or a similarly qualified person so as to prevent dangerous situations.

  • Never use the appliance if its power cord or plug is damaged, if it does not work properly if it fell down and was damaged and if it is leaking.
    In this case, take the appliance to a special service to check its safety and proper function.

  • When the appliance is in operation, prevent pets, plants, or insects to get in contact with it.

  • The product is intended for home use and similar (in shops, offices, and similar workplaces, in hotels, motels, and other residential environments, and in facilities providing accommodation with breakfast). It is not intended for commercial use!

  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).

  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable).

  • Do not insert or take out the plug to or from a socket with wet hands and do not pull the power cord!

  • Do not submerge the appliance or the heating plate into the water (not even partially). Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.

  • Do not use the appliance for heating a room!

  • To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance.

  • Do not place the appliance on unstable, fragile, or flammable surfaces (e.g. glass, paper, plastic, wooden varnished boards, and various fabric/table cloths).

  • Use the appliance in the working position at places with no risk of turning over and at a sufficient distance from flammable objects (e. g. curtains, drapes, wood, etc.), heat sources (e. g. heater, stove, etc.), and wet surfaces (e.g. sinks, wash–basins, etc.).

  • Let the sandwich cool down completely before cleaning or storing.

  • It is not allowed to modify the surface of the appliance in any way (e.g. using a self-adhesive wallpaper, foils, etc.)!

  • Never disassemble the product; incorrect reassembly can increase the risk of electric shock when the kettle is used. All repair work should be carried out only by an authorized service.

  • The product is equipped with a safety fuse that protects it against overheating.

  • When handling the appliance, try to prevent injury (e.g. burning, scalding).

  • Before changing accessories (baking plates) let the device get cool. Always use the same pair of removable baking plates.

  • To avoid injury (burning), do not move the appliance when it is hot!

  • After finishing work, always disconnect the appliance from the power supply by taking the connector of the power cord out of the electric socket.

  • Use the device only for the intended purpose.

  • Do not touch metal parts! These parts are very hot.

  • Clean the appliance after each use.

  • With regards to fire safety, the appliance complies with EN 60 335–2–6. Within the intention of the standard, this appliance can be operated on a table or on a similar surface while a safe distance must be maintained from flammable materials of at least 500 mm in the direction of the main heat radiation and 100 mm in the other directions.

  • Never use a metal or sharp object, as this will damage the non-stick coating on the cooking plates.

  • Do not operate the appliance in the vertical position. This is for storage only.

  • If you need to use an extension cord, it has to be uncorrupted and it has to comply with the valid standards.

  • Use only uncorrupted and proper extension power cords.

  • The producer does not undertake any responsibility for damage caused by improper use of the appliance (e.g. deterioration of food, injury, burning, scalding, fire, etc.) and its guarantee does not cover the appliance in the case of failure to comply with the safety warning above.

Do not use the appliance with a program, time switch, or any other part that automatically switches the appliance on as there is a danger of fire if the appliance is covered or stored improperly.

Instructions for Use

Before you start:

  • Before first use cleans the surface of the cooking plates with a damp cloth and then wipe again with a dry cloth.
  • Oil the cooking plates with olive oil, butter, margarine, or any cooking fat.
  • Cook 1 or 2 sandwiches, please do not eat these first pieces of the sandwich you made.

Using the unit

  • Insert the plug into a suitable mains power socket. Power indicator light P1 will come on.

  • Prepare the sandwich while waiting for the toaster to heat up.

  • After 4 to 6 minutes the sandwich maker will be ready as indicated by the green light (P2) going on.

  • For golden brown toasted sandwiches, place the buttered sides of the bread onto the cooking plates.

  • Open the sandwich maker and place it in the sandwich. Be careful of the hot surfaces.

  • Close both halves of the sandwich maker without placing too much force on the sandwich.
    If too much force is required to close the sandwich maker, the clip may come loose or break during toasting.

  • Keep the sandwich maker closed during toasting.

  • Cooking time will depend on the type of bread used and personal preferences.

  • After toasting is complete open the toaster maker and removes the sandwich with a plastic or wooden utensil. Never use a metal or sharp object as this will damage the non-stick coating on the cooking plates.

  • After use removes the plug from the power socket outlet.

Note:
During cooking the green indicator (P2) of temperature is periodically switched ON and OFF to keep the correct temperature of the appliance.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Unplug the unit and wait until it cools down completely before cleaning or storing.
  • Wipe the interior as well as the side of the cooking plates with an absorbent tissue, paper towel, or soft cloth.
  • Never use an abrasive to clean the appliance. Clean after each use to prevent any caking of fillings.

Do not immerse the appliance or the cord in water or any other liquid.
The appliance can be stored in a vertical position.

Locking clip and its exchange
If the locking clip is damaged it can be replaced. There are two spare clips in the package.
Remove the damaged clip from the axis using a strong tool such as a knife or screwdriver. The new clip just strikes the axis of the sandwich body.

Troubleshooting

The device is not working

  • Check that the mains connection cable is firmly plugged in.
  • Check the right function of the outlet. Test outlet with other electrical appliances.
  • Check the supply cord to ensure no damage is evident.
