OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Before the first use
Prior to operating a new appliance for the first time, wipe it with a wet and then a dry cloth.
Ventilation mode
In this mode, the exhausted vapors are ventilated through the output pipe into the airing shaft and out of the room. If the carbon filter is installed in the appliance, remove it (Refer to the Cleaning and Maintenance chapter).

  1. By pressing the symbols 1 – 3 you may select the required level of output of the ventilating fan. The ventilating fan is switched ON. A control light will be lighting above the selected output level.

  2. Press the selected symbol again after use, the ventilating fan of the appliance will be switched OFF and the control light will turn off.
    Re-circulation mode
If you have no possibility to exhaust the air out of the room, the re- circulation mode can be selected. In this mode, the exhausted vapours are filtered by metal filters and the carbon filter. The active carbon in this filter absorbs smells and the cleaned air flows back in the room through the holes in the upper chimney cover. For this mode, it is necessary additionally to buy and install the corresponding carbon filter (see the paragraph Cleaning and maintenance).

  3. By pressing the symbols 1 – 3 you may select the required level of output of the ventilating fan. The ventilating fan is switched ON. A control light will be lighting above the selected output level.

  4. Press the selected symbol again after use, the ventilating fan of the appliance will be switched OFF and the control light will turn off.

Switching the lighting on/off
By pressing the symbol the lighting is switched on. By a repeated pressing of the symbol , the lighting turns off.
5 min. delayed turn-off function

  1. Select the required level of output of the ventilating fan (1, 2 or 3). The ventilating fan is switched ON. A control light will be lighting above the selected output level.
  2. By long pressing of the selected symbol you will activate the delayed OFF-function of the ventilation fan. Operating light is blinking.
  3. Ventilating fan of the appliance will switch off automatically in 5 minutes. Time of the delay is pre-set and it is not possible to change it.

Note: When you press the symbol of the selected output again during the counting down, the delayed OFF-function will be cancelled and the ventilation fan will be working in the mode of manual control; the operation control light will be lighting permanently.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Prior to any maintenance or cleaning, disconnect the power cord from the mains or switch off the circuit breaker of the appliance mains outlet.
  • Do not immerse the supply cable, the plug, or the appliance itself in water or any other liquid.
  • Set all controls to the OFF position.
  • Clean the external surface of the appliance by a soft wet cloth, or respectively, you may use a neutral cleaning agent.
  • Do not use steel wool, coarse sponges, abrasive cleaners, solvents or aggressive cleaning agents.
  • Do not use an autoclave to clean the appliance!

Cleaning and replacing the filters
Metal fat retention filters
During the normal use of the appliance, the metal fat filters should be checked, or cleaned respectively, every month. In case of more frequent frying or deep frying, shorten the
replacement interval. Do not use the appliance without properly mounted metal fat retention filters!

  1. Remove the metal filters (Fig. 1).
  2. Let the metal filters soak in warm water with detergent added. Clean them with a soft brush, rinse with clean water, and let dry.
  3. Remount the completely dry filters following the reverse steps.

Carbon filter (must be separately bought)
This filter is used only in the re-circulation mode. The filter contains active carbon that absorbs the ventilated odors. After a while, the active carbon is saturated and loses its absorption ability. The filter can‘t be washed or otherwise cleaned. Under regular use, the carbon filter should be replaced every 2 months. In case of more frequent frying or deep frying, shorten the replacement interval.

  1. Remove the metal filters (Fig. 1).
  2. Press 2 latches at the front side to release the carbon filter and tip its front part out. Slide the back part of the filter out off the grove at the back wall of the exhauster (Fig.2).
  3. Put the new carbon filter in the groove in the back side of the exhauster, and press the front part upwards so that both latches lock on.
  4.  Put the metal filters back.

Cleaning of the drip tray
A plastic drip tray is placed in front of the motor of the appliance (Fig. 3). This collects the respective condensates which may be built inside the exhaust piping. During normal use of the appliance, the condensates evaporate during the operation. Therefore we recommend checking the drip tray every month and clean, if necessary.

APPLIANCE INSTALLATION

  • Only an authorized professional can install the appliance power connection!
  • Only the customer, not the manufacturer, is responsible for the appliance installation. Defects caused by incorrect installation are not covered by the warranty.
  • Remove all packing and marketing material from the appliance before you use it for the first time.
  • We recommend that a professional company is entrusted with the appliance installation.
  • The manufacturer bears no responsibility for damage caused to people, animals or objects as a result of incorrect installation.

Follow the subsequent installation instructions:

  1. On the wall behind the hotplate, mark the minimum installation height (650 mm for electric and 700 mm for gas hotplates, as shown in Fig. 4).
  2. Mark the position of the centre of the hotplate with a vertical line.
  3. Put the appliance on the wall at the required height (650 mm above the electrical and 700 mm above gas cooking plates). Mark the position of the holes for fastening in the wall.
  4. Drill holes and fasten the appliance with use of the delivered dowels and screws.
  5. The exact setting of the appliance in horizontal position may be performed using the setting screws (Fig. 5 and 6).
  6. For the mode of exhausting, connect the output opening of the ventilating fan with the hole in the wall by the flexible piping. If necessary, use the diameter adapter (150/120 mm). For the airing mode, leave the fan output opening open so that the air can flow back into the room.
  7. Put both chimney covers on the body of the appliance. Slide the upper chimney cover out to the required height and mark the height of the opening on the wall for the wall bracket of the upper cover. Remove both chimney covers.
  8. Locate the wall bracket of the upper chimney cover to the marked height and mark on the wall its fixing holes.
  9. Drill the holes and fix the wall bracket of the upper chimney cover.
  10. Mount and screw the lower and upper chimney covers.
  11. Plug the supply cable into the wall outlet.
