-
Before use, check your new device (including cable and plug) for any visible damage.
Never use a damaged device but take it back to the supplier for a replacement. -
In the event of incorrect usage or installation, there is a risk of electric shocks and/or a fire hazard.
Warnings device position
-
Do not use the device before it has been fully installed as set out in the user instructions. Never use the device standing up or leaning against something, or similar. Never insert the plug into the socket before the device has been correctly installed at the appropriate place.
-
When installing, the following minimum distances should be considered:
Minimum distance to ceiling: 50 cm
Minimum distance to side walls: 50 cm
Minimum distance to the ground: 180 cm -
The air around the device must be able to circulate freely. Never install it too close to large objects and never under a shelf, cupboard, curtains, or similar. The minimum distances from large objects such as shelves, cupboards, etc. to the top, sides, and underneath of the device are equal to the aforementioned minimum distances to ceilings, side walls, and the ground, respectively.
-
This device is, in principle, suitable for installation in damp spaces such as bathrooms, washrooms, etc.(IP24). The device may only be used in the bathroom if it is installed at a fixed point and the device is at least 60 centimeters from water points and water reservoirs (tap, bath, shower, toilet, sink, swimming pool, etc.). Make sure that the device cannot fall into the water and that it cannot be penetrated by water. If the device does get wet make sure you remove the plug from the socket! Do not use a device that is wet inside but take it to be repaired. Never immerse the device, cable, or plug in water or any other fluid, and never touch the device with wet hands.
-
If the device is installed in a bathroom, it must be installed such that the switches and other operating components cannot be touched by a person in the bath or shower.
-
Some parts of the device become extremely hot or the protective grilles offer insufficient protection. For safety reasons, the lowest point of the device must always remain at least 180 cm above the ground, whether secured to the wall or ceiling.
-
The wall to which the device is secured and the ceiling and walls within 1 meter of the device must not be made of flammable materials. Materials must be resistant to temperatures of at least 125°C without burning, melting, deforming, or bursting into flames. Check regularly to ensure that the wall and ceiling are not overheating; this could be dangerous!
-
Only use the device if it has been secured properly. Make sure that you always use attachment materials that are suitable for the surface you are working with; consult an expert if required.
-
With wall installation: never block the space between the device and the wall.
-
Never install this device behind a door or by an open window, where rain could get in.

The electrical socket that you are using must be to hand at all times in order to be able to remove the plug from the socket in the event of an emergency.
-
To avoid overloading and/or fuses being blown, do not use any other equipment on the same socket or electrical group as the one used for the device.
-
Unroll the electric cable for the device fully before inserting the plug into the socket and ensure that the electrical cable does not come into contact with the fireplace or get hot. Do not run the electrical cable under the carpet, cover it with mats, runners, or similar, and do not place it in areas that are walked on frequently. Ensure that it cannot be stepped on and that no furniture is placed on top of it. Do not bend the electrical cable around sharp corners and do not roll up too tightly after use! Prevent the electrical cable from coming into contact with oil, solvents, and sharp objects. Check the cable and plug regularly for damage. Warnings for maintenance
-
Keep the device clean. Dust, dirt, and/or deposits in the device often lead to overheating. Ensure that this type of build-up is regularly removed.
-
Always switch the device off, remove the plug from the socket and let the device cool down before you:
– clean the device
– users – maintain the device.
– touch or move the device. -
Never switch the device on if you have noticed damage to the device itself, the cable or plug, or if it does not work properly, makes strange noises, smells odd or you can see smoke, or if it has fallen or shows any other signs of damage. Remove the plug from the socket immediately. Take the entire device back to your supplier or a recognized electrician to be checked and/or repaired. Always ask for original parts to be used.
-
The device may only be opened and/or repaired by a competent and qualified person. Do not carry out your own repairs as this could be dangerous! Repairs carried out by unauthorized persons or changes made to the device could damage the dust/waterproof capacity of the device and will nullify the guarantee and the manufacturer’s liability.
-
If the electrical cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, their service department, or somebody with similar qualifications in order to prevent creating a hazard.
Failing to adhere to points 3, 4, and 5, could lead to damage, fire, and/or personal injury. They will invalidate the guarantee and the supplier, importer, and/or manufacturer shall not be liable for the consequences.
Positioning
- Carefully remove the packaging and keep it out of the reach of children. Pay attention to the mounting material!
- Before use, check that the device is free from damage or signs that may indicate an error/defect/failure. If in doubt, do not install or use the heater, but return it to the supplier!
- This heater has been designed to be hung horizontally from a wall so as not suitable for ceiling mounting; do not use it whilst it is standing, lying, or in any other way!
- Select a suitable location for the device taking into account all the aforementioned warnings in this manual.
- Only connect the heater to an earthed socket!
Permanent mounting:
The QH1203 is designed for installation in a permanent position and direct
connection to the electricity network. For safety reasons, this installation
should be fitted by an approved electrician.
Plug connection:
The QH1203 can also be connected directly to a power socket using the electric
cable and plug. Make sure that the electric cable does not hang over any
(sharp) edges, does not make any sharp angles, cannot be dragged, and does not
touch any hot surfaces.
Important: the electric cable and plug form a whole. Therefore, if either the
electric cable or plug is damaged they should both be replaced by an
electrician. Only mount the original parts!
- When positioning and connecting the heater, make sure that your hands do not touch the heating elements. This is because traces can be left behind which, afterward, will have a negative effect on the radiated heat.
- For use with a plug, the following applies: do not use extension leads and do not connect any other equipment next to the heater in the same socket!
- Position the mounting bracket with the long side and 2 holes against the wall in the required position, then mark the drill holes. Make sure that the drill holes are positioned at the same height! Remove the bracket and drill 2 holes in the spots marked. Knock in the raw plugs, position the bracket over the top and screw it firmly into the wall using the screws supplied.
- Place the heater over the bracket with the cord down and large holes positioned over large holes. Screw securely using the bolts, rings, and nuts supplied (1).
- Turn the heater to the required position. The body of the heater can be turned into 5 positions (Small heater holes over small bracket holes (3)). The mid position is horizontal to the room. The two positions that are directed upwards will only be used in exceptional cases and require a greater distance to the ceiling (1 meter). Finally, the heater has two positions which are directed downwards. These are the standard positions. Secure the heater at the required angle by screwing both of the small screws (2) into the double holes.
- The heater is now ready for use.
The QH1203 is supplied with a knob, ring, and spring washer that is intended for a special model. These parts are surplus and not intended for your model.
Use
To use the heater, if required insert the plug into the socket and pull on the
pull switch.
Each time that you pull the pull switch, the heater will change to the next
setting:
0 (off) > 1 (600W) > 2 (1200W) > 0 etc.
You are able to view the heater’s setting through the peephole.
Maintenance
Before you perform maintenance on the heater, you have to turn off the power supply. This heater does not require any specific maintenance. Keep the ventilation and radiation openings, as well as the heated screen, clean and dust-free, but when cleaning the quartz elements, make sure that you do not touch them; it is best to blow any dust away frequently. To clean the exterior, use a soft cloth that can be damp. At the very most, use a mild cleaning agent: no abrasives or sponges and no caustic substances. If a defect occurs, disconnect the heater from the power supply and go to a service point. Do not perform any repairs yourself and always ask that original parts are used in any repairs.
Disposal
At its end of life, discard the device according to the local laws and regulations, or deliver the device to your supplier.
