GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance has to be grounded. It is equipped with a supply cable with a grounding conductor and a grounding socket. It must be connected to a socket that is correctly installed and grounded. In the case of a short circuit this grounding reduces the risk of electric shock. It is recommended to connect the appliance to a separate electric circuit. The use of high voltage is dangerous, and any damage to the oven may cause a fire or other accident.
CAUTION!
Any incorrect use of the protective conductor can cause injury due to electric shock.

Note: Should you have any questions about grounding and electric connection, contact a qualified electrician or servicing technician. Neither the manufacturer nor the distributor is responsible for injury or damage caused by an incorrect electric connection. The conductors in the supply cable are color coded as follows:

  • Green and yellow = Ground
  • Blue = Neutral
  • Brown = Live

Appliance Basic Functions

concept KTV 3344 Built-In Combined Oven-fig5

a) Microwave cooking function
  • Microwave oven cooking guide

    • Place the food evenly. Place thicker pieces close to the vessel edge.

    • Watch the cooking time. Cook for the shortest of the prescribed times, or longer, if necessary. Overcooked food can ignite.

    • Cover the food when cooking. Covers prevent spattering and enable more even heating.

    • Turn pieces of food such as chicken or hamburgers when cooking. Big pieces, such as a roast,
have to be turned more than once.

    • Halfway through the preparation time, move food like meat balls from the edge of the plate to the centre and, vice versa,
      to the centre and back.

  • Selection of dishes

    • We recommend circular or oval dishes, not square or rectangular ones, as the food in the corners tends to be overcooked.
    • Ideal dishes for microwave ovens are transparent to the microwaves. They allow the energy to pass through the cover and the food. Microwaves can‘t pass through metals; therefore, metal and metal-decorated dishes should not be used. Dishes with a metallic strip must not be used!
    • Do not use products made of recycled paper in the microwave oven, as these can contain small metal parts that may cause sparks or fire.
  • Overview list of some dishes appropriate for microwave ovens

    ---|---

Aluminium foil

| Just small pieces of foil for covering meal sections that cook faster that the others. The foil shields the microwave radiation and, thus, slows down the preparation time. When the foil is too close to walls, dangerous sparking may occur. The foil edge should be at least 2.5 cm away from the oven inner walls.
Dishes appropriate for microwave ovens (heat-resistant glass, heat- resistant ceramics, plastic plate suitable for microwave ovens).| ****

Adhere to the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not use damaged dishes.

Microwave oven bags.| Adhere to manufacturer’s instructions. They must not contain metallic particles. Pierce bags several times so that steam may escape.

  • Do not use:
Aluminium baking tins and trays.| They may cause sparking or an electric arc.
    ---|---
Metallic dishes| These dishes prevent microwaves from passing through.
Dishes with metallic ornaments, metallic additions or handles, metallic cutlery.| These dishes may cause sparking and fire.
Metallic clamps and closing strips| These may cause sparking and fire.
Paper bags| When heated for a prolonged time, they may cause fire!
Microtene and polyethylene foil or foam| These could melt and cause fire.
Wooden dishes| These dishes get dried and may break.

Food temperature gauges must not be used in the appliance unless their manufacturer explicitly allows their use in microwave ovens.

  • Dishes test
1. Poor 250 ml of cold water into a vessel made of a safe material, and place the tested vessel beside it.
2. Boil at the maximum microwave output for 1 minute. Do not exceed the 1-minute time!

Baking Tips

  • The exact values of temperature for each kind of food and each way of baking have to be tried out.
  • During baking open the oven door as infrequently as possible. Otherwise the temperature mode of baking would be disturbed, the time of baking would extend and the food could be burnt.
  • Marinated meat and meat without bones roast faster than unprepared meat. To check thorough roasting of meat, press it e.g. with a fork. If it does not release juices it is done.
  • Meat which is larded or covered with bacon must not be roasted at too high a temperature, so that the grease does not sputter.
  • When roasting big pieces of meat juices evaporate, which then condense on the oven door. This is natural and it does not imply any danger to the use of the appliance. After the end of baking, wipe the oven door and the surrounding space in the oven dry.
  • The pastry will swell only after 2/3 of the stated baking time. The time of baking depends on the type of filling (fruits, marmalade).
  • Whipped dough should not contain too much water, which extends the time of baking.
  • Baking pans are not designed for long-term storage of food (more than 48 hours). For longer storage move the food to a suitable utensil.
  • While grilling, the distance between the meal and the grill heater must be proportional to required results.
    • smaller distance for a brown surface and underdone inside,
    • bigger distance for thorough roasting of the food.
Place the meal on the slide-in grate or on the grilling stand with the required height. For catching the dripping gravy, place a plate with a little water under the meal.
      CAUTION!
When using the grill, the accessible parts of the oven may become too hot. Prevent children from accessing the hot parts of the oven.
