ATTACHING THE MOUNTING BRACKET TO THE HARD DISK DRIVE
The following types of hard disk drive may be used with this PS3 system
Size: 2.5 inches/ 63.5mm (type internal)
Interface format: Serial ATA (Parallel ATA is not supported)
- Place the hard drive in the mounting bracket. Ensure that the hard drive is positioned so that the connector on the hard drive can be accessed from outside of the mounting bracket.
- Hold the hard drive lightly and turn it upside down together with the mounting bracket. Place it on a soft, dry cloth. Do not forcefully push down on the hard drive.
- Attach the hard drive to the mounting bracket with screws. While inserting the screws into the mounting bracket, keep the rubber inserts over the mounting bracket’s screw holes.
INSTALLING THE HARD DRIVE INTO A PS3 SYSTEM
- Press the power button to turn off the PS3 system. The power indicator turns solid red and the system enters standby mode.
- Unplug the AC power cord and disconnect all other cables from the system. For safety reasons, remove the plug for the power cord form the electrical outlet, and then detach the other cables.
- Slide the HDD bay cover in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
- Insert the hard drive into the PS3 system. Be sure to fully insert the hard drive in the PS3 system.
- Install the hard drive in the PS3 system with the screws.
- Attach the HDD bay cover.
TO REMOVE THE HARD DRIVE FROM THE PS3 SYSTEM

Remove the HOD bay cover.
Follow steps 1 to 3 under “installing the hard drive in the PS3 system” above. above. -
Remove the hard drive from the PS3 system:

Remove the screws.

Pull the right side of the handle towards you, then pull the hard disk drive to remove it.
COPYING DATA TO THE HARD DRIVE
- Turn on the PS3 system and then follow the on-screen instructions.
- Data saved to the PS3 system prior to installing the hard drive will be copied to the installed hard drive.
Note: Any data that was previously saved to the installed hard drive will be deleted.
