IMPORTANT
READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING THE FIXTURE. RETAIN THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR
FUTURE REFERENCE.
PacLights fixtures must be wired in accordance with the National Electrical
Code and all applicable local codes. Proper grounding is required for safety.
THIS PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE INSTALLATION
CODE BY A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF THE PRODUCT
AND THE HAZARDS INVOLVED.
WARNINGS:
- Make certain power is OFF before installing or maintaining the fixture. No user-serviceable parts inside.
- To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to the edges of sharp objects.
CAUTION:
- For proper weatherproof function, all gaskets must be seated properly and all screws inserted and tightened fi rmly. Apply weatherproof silicone sealant around the edge of the Back Box and/or Junction Box. This is especially important with an uneven wall surface. Silicone all plugs and unused conduit entries.
FIELD ADJUSTABLE CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) & WATTAGE
The CCT Switch and the Wattage Switch are located on the back of the Panel
Cover of the FTFS/2 texture (Fig. 1). The Adjustable CCT Switch allows the
user to choose a desired color temperaturofe 3500K, 4000K, 5000K for all
FTFS/2 Models (Fig. 2). The Adjustable Wattage Switch allows the user to
choose adesired output wattage 20/25/30W or FTFS/2-22D, 34/38/45W for
FTFS/2-24D, and 20/25/30W for FTFS/2-14Dfixtures (Fig. 2).

FTFS/2 MOUNTING ONTO A T-GRID
-
The FTFS/2 fitexture has Mounting Tabs at all four corners. Carefully bend out (4) Mounting Tabs to 90° on all four corners to fi t onto the T-Grid (Fig. 3).
-
If needed, use metal Shears/Cutters to carefully adjust each Mounting Tab to the proper height of the T-Grid (Fig. 4).
-
Now with the four tabs set into position, the FTFS/2 fixture is ready to lay onto the T-Grid (Fig. 5)
-
To clear corners for ceiling tile, bend tabs flush against the T-Grid. Use a sheet metal Screw to fasten fixture to the T-Grid (Fig. 6).
-
Use a Safety Cable (hanger wire) to ‘tie-off ’ at the Tabs (Screws and Hanger Wires supplied by others) (Fig 7).
-
Run a Power Supply Cable through a Conduit and install all wiring connections inside the Panel Cover of the FTFS/2 fixture. Attach the wiring access Cover Plate. Please see wiring instructions (Fig. 8). Refer to the wiring diagram.
OPTIONAL FTFS/2 SURFACE MOUNT
-
Use Screws to fasten the Angles to the corners of the Channel frame. Start off by assembling three of the Channels together (Fig. 9).
-
Fasten the three Channels to the Ceiling surface. Bolts/Screws not provided (Fig. 10).
-
Slide in the FTFS/2 fi xture through the open side of the Surface Mount. This is when all the wiring installations should be made as well. Refer to the wiring diagram (Fig. 11).
-
Once the FTFS/2 fi xture is properly installed on the Surface Mount, fasten the last two Angles and side Channel to completely enclose the FTFS/2 fi xture (Fig. 12).
-
After the Surface Mount Kit is properly installed, this is how the FTFS/2 fi xture should look (Fig. 13).
OPTIONAL FTFS/2 DRYWALL RECESSED FLANGE
-
Start off by assembling the Recessed Flanges together by fastening the Screws to the corners of the Recessed Flanges (Fig. 14).
-
Notch out the ceiling drywall surface. Insert the preassembled Drywall Flange frame fl ush to the ceiling leaving the fl anged side underneath the ceiling. If the drywall ceiling is thin install the Cables to support the frame and the FTFS/2 fi xture. Cables are not included with the Drywall Flange frame (Fig. 15).
-
If the drywall Ceiling is at least 1” thick, then the Drywall Flangeframe can be fastened from the sides. See ‘cut-out’ below. Mounting Screws are not included (Fig. 16).
-
Carefully mount the FTFS/2 into the Recessed Frame and adjust any Cables if necessary (Fig. 17).
OPTIONAL BI-LEVEL OCCUPANCY CONTROL
-
The integrated Bi-Level Occupancy Control is a programmable microwave motion detector (Fig. 18). The Bi-Level Control is preinstalled. NOTE: Subject to availability, might substitute with other sensor models with similar functions.
-
The Mounting Bracket is pre-installed and secured to the inside of the FTFS/2 fi xture. The Bi-Level Occupancy Control fi ts directly on the Mounting Bracket (Fig. 19).
-
The Control Parameters are adjustable on the Sensor or by a wireless Commissioning Device. The Control Parameters allow the user to adjust the Mode (A thru E), Dimming (10% thru 100%), and Time (30 sec thru 30 min) Level (Fig. 20). The Control Modes are given in more detail in the next column.
**BI-LEVEL OCCUPANCY CONTROL CONTROL MODES
**
MODE A
- Turn OFF the light while ambient light > 50 LUX.
- Turn the light to DIM level while ambient light is < 50 LUX.
- DIM the light to full-ON while occupancy is detected.
- Dim the light to DIM level after the delay time elapsed.
MODE B
- Turn OFF the light while ambient light > 50 LUX.
- Turn the light to full-ON while ambient light < 50 LUX AND occupancy is detected.
- Dim the light to DIM level after the delay time elapsed.
- Turn OFF the light if no occupancy is detected within another 1/2 TIME.
MODE C
- The ambient light sensor is disabled.
- Turn the light to full-ON while occupancy is detected.
- Dim the light to DIM level after the delay time elapsed.
- Turn OFF the light if no occupancy is detected within another 1/2 TIME.
MODE D
- Turn OFF the light while ambient light > 50 LUX.
- Turn the light to DIM level while ambient light < 50 LUX AND occupancy is detected.
- Turn OFF the light after the delay time elapsed.
MODE E
NOTE:
This mode allows visual adjustment to choose the desired Dimming Level.
- If the Time rotary is set at maximum, the light turns ON at DIM level.
- If the Time rotary is set at a minimum, the light turns OFF.
- Note that after turning the Time rotary to change the ON/OFF setting, the unit will not respond to further changes for 3s.
