Operating & cleaning instructions

Cleaning Products – Jura Impressa X7S

Daily
See procedure – Daily milk system clean
Must be performed at the end of each day just before the machine is turned off
Purpose: To ensure the milk system is clean overnight so the milk does not go off blocking the pathways

Use Cafetto daily milk cleaner 1-liter bottle (Prod no. 71144) or Jura Milk System Cleaner Mini Tabs 180g (Prod no. 71150)

Weekly
See procedure – Weekly milk system clean
Performed once per week
Purpose: To remove any build-up of milk fats to ensure the milk frother works correctly

When prompted
Clean machine – See procedure (Coffee system clean)
Performed only when prompted (Every 220 coffees)
Purpose: Removes coffee oil from the brewing unit and coffee path to maintain the quality of the coffee

Use Jura cleaning tablets
– 6 pk (Prod no. 71111)
– 25 pk (Prod no. 71112)

See procedures – Changing the filter or Descaling the machine
Perform a filter change or descale only when prompted.
Purpose: Protects against limescale build-up inside the machine maintaining water & steam paths

Programming Buttons

End of the day cleaning

1. Remove the milk tube from the milk bottle. Place the milk
   bottle in your fridge overnight.

2. Wipe out the milk fridge with a damp cloth.

3. If the display shows SELECT PRODUCT follow
   • ABBREVIATED GUIDELINES: CLEANING – AUTO CAPPUCCINO.

4. If the display shows CLEANING NECESSARY follow
   •  ABBREVIATED GUIDELINES: ENTIRE – CLEANING

5. Clean the drip tray and a coffee grounds bin. Do not use a dishwasher.

6. Turn the coffee machine OFF at the programming panel ON-OFF switch (A).

7. Place a sign on the machine ‘Machine has been cleaned – Do not use’

Steam wand:
After frothing milk wipe the steam arm with a damp cloth. Run the steam for 2 seconds to ensure the steam arm is clean. At the end of the day check the steam arm is clean before turning it off.

ABBREVIATED GUIDELINES – CLEANING – AUTO-CAPPUCCINO

(Should be done daily when Auto-Cappuccino is used)

You can start the cleaning process whenever the below signal appears.

SELECT PRODUCT
The programme lasts approx. 5 minutes.
Do not interrupt the programme once started.

1. Open door (O) and press this key until you hear an acoustic signal to start the cleaning programme.

2. SELECT CLEANING – +
   Press this key. CAPPUCCINO CLEANING
   

3. Press this key.

4. Place any jug under the coffee spout (D).

5. CLEANER FOR CAPPUCCINO
   Fill any jug with about 0,25 litres of tap water and add about 3 cupfuls of the Cappuccino cleaner.
   Immerse the cappuccino tube (T) into it.
   Use JURA – cleaning ng tablets and -Cappuccinocleaner only, which are available at your local authorized dealer.

6. PRESS CLEANING
   Place any jug under the coffee spout (D) and press this key (O).

7. CAPPUCCINO CLEANING
   PLEASE WAIT

8. WATER FOR CAPPUCCINO
   PRESS CLEANING
   You hear an acoustic signal.
   Fill any jug with tap water and immerse the Cappuccinotube (T) into it.

9. Press this key.

10. CAPPUCCINO CLEANING
    PLEASE WAIT

11. SELECT PRODUCT
    The cleaning programme is now complete.

ABBREVIATED GUIDELINES – ENTIRE-CLEANING

(Should be done when Auto-Cappuccino is used)

You know your machine needs cleaning when the below signals appear.

CLEANING NECESSARY
SELECT PRODUCT
You can still draw off coffee or hot water and start the cleaning programme later.

The programme lasts approx. 20 minutes.
Do not interr upt the programmeonce

1. Open door (O) and press this key until you hear an acoustic signal to start the cleaning programme.

2. SELECT CLEANING – +
   Press this key twice. ENTIRE CLEANING

3. Press this key.

4. EMPTY DRAWER
   Empty the drip tray (A) and the grounds container (C).

5. INSERT TABLET
   Put a JURA cleaning tablet in the funnel (M).

6. CLEANER FOR CAPPUCCINO
   **** Fill any jug with about 0,25 litres of tap water and add about 3 cupfuls of the Cappuccino cleaner.
   Immerse the cappuccino tube (T) into it.
   Use JURA -cleaning tablets and – Cappucci no cleaner only, which are available at your local authorized dealer.

7. PRESS CLEANING
   Place any jug under the coffee spout (D) and press this key.

8. ENTIRE CLEANING
   PLEASE WAIT
   Lasts appr ox . 1 3 minutes.

9. WATER FOR CAPPUCCINO
   PRESS CLEANING
   You hear an acoustic signal.
   Fill tap water in any jug and immerse the Cappuccinotube (T) into it.

10. ENTIRE CLEANING
    PLEASE WAIT
    Last approx. 1 minute.

11. EMPTY DRAWER
    Empty the drip tray(A) and the grounds container (C).

12. SELECT PRODUCT
    The cleaning programme is now complete.

ABBREVIATED GUIDELINES – RINSING

1. Open door (O) and press this key to switch on the machine.
2. RINSE UNIT
3. Press this key.
4. The rinsing is first done via the cappuccino nozzle (D), after which the coffee spout (D) is cleaned.
5. SELECT PRODUCT
   The rinsing process is complete.

ABBREVIATED GUIDELINES – COFFEE SECTOR – CLEANING

(Should be done when Auto-Cappuccino is not used)

You know your machine needs cleaning when the below signals appear.

CLEANING NECESSARY

You can still draw off coffee or steam/hot water and start the cleaning programme later.
The programme lasts approx. 15 minutes.
Do not interrupt the programme once started.

1. Open door (O) and press this key until you hear an acoustic signal to start the cleaning programme.

2. SELECT CLEANING – +
   Press this key@3 times.

3. COFFEE CLEANING
   Press this key (O).

4. EMPTY DRAWER
   Empty the drip tray (A) and the grounds container(C).

5. INSERT TABLET
   Put a JURA cleaning tablet in the funnel (M).
   Use JURA cleaning tablets only, which are available at your local authorized dealer.

6. PRESS CLEANING
   Place a container under the coffee spout (D) and press this key (O).

7. COFFEE CLEANING
   PLEASE WAIT
   Lasts approx. 12 minutes
   

8. EMPTY DRAWER
   Empty the drip tray (A) and the grounds container (C).
   

9. SELECT PRODUCT
   The cleaning programme is now complete.
   

ABBREVIATED GUIDELINES – DE-SCALING

(De-scaling is only required if you do not use the JURA Claris filter)

You know your machine needs de-scaling when the below signals appear.

DECALCIFYING NECESSARY
SELECT PRODUCT
You can still draw off steam/hot water and start the cleaning programme later.

The programme lasts approx. 40 minutes.
Do not interr upt the programme once started.

1. Open door (O) and switch off the machine to start the de-scaling programme.

2. Press this key. EMPTY DRIP TRAY
   Empty the drip tray (A) and the grounds container (C).

3. INSERT AGENT IN TANK
   PRESS DECALCIFYING
   Place any jug under the coffee spout (D) and the pivoting nozzle (R).

4. Dissolve 3 tablets completely in 0,7 litres of water in a vessel and pour the mixture into the empty water tank (N).
   Use J UR A-de-scaling tablets only, which are available at your local authorized dealer.

5. Press this key.

6. UNIT DECALCIFYING
   PLEASE WAIT
   Lasts approx. 3 1 minutes.
   

7. EMPTY DRIP TRAY
   You hear an acoustic signal.
   Empty the drip tray (A) and the grounds container (C).
   

8. FILL WATER TANK
   Rinse the water tank (N) and refill it with tap water.

9. Place any jug under the coffee spout (D) and the pivoting nozzle (R).

10. PRESS DESCALING

11. UNIT DECALCIFYING
    PLEASE WAIT
    Lasts approx . 4 minutes.

12. EMPTY DRIP TRAY
    CLEAN CONTACTS
    You hear an acoustic signal.
    Empty the drip tray (A) and the grounds cont ai ner (C).Clean contacts at the back.
    

13. The machine switches off automatically. The de-scaling program is now complete.

Troubleshooting:

• No milk flow
• Milk spluttering
• Not filling cups
• Froth milk is flat/cool

Solution:

1. Remove the dome coffee spout cover by pressing the release button up (At the base of the dome behind the coffee spouts) and pulling the dome cover off (pull towards you and down). (Fig 1 & 2)
2. Replace the air suction (Fig 3) and test the milk system using the milk button. If the problem has been resolved, the order in a spare air suction (part no. 71866) otherwise go to step 3.
3. Remove the auto frother. Open the coffee spout cover (Fig 4), slide the auto frother forward (Fig 5), push the auto frother out of the housing (Fig 6 – 7) and disconnect the steam and milk tubes. (Fig 8)
4. Separate the auto frother into 6 parts. (Fig 9)
5. Soak the parts in 250ml of warm water and 15 ml of Cafetto red weekly cleaner (71145) for 30 min.
6. Remove the parts from the solution and rinse them under tap water.
7. Clean the milk, air, and steam paths with the cleaning brush (part no. 71161). (Fig 10 – 14)
8. Re-assemble the auto frother and refit it onto the machine.
9. Test the operation. If the problem has not been resolved descale the machine and test again. If the problem has still not been resolved call phone support on 1300 365 487.
