Adorama 3PCFTTH 3POD TREK Series Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod and Ball-
FIG1

  • The best balance of stability, weight, dexterity, and compact travel in a tripod, optimized for easy transport and quick setup. For the photographer on the prowl in you.
  • The TREK Series Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with Ball Head from 3POD may be one of the most travel-friendly camera supports ever created.
  • Eight layers of the most formidable Carbon Fiber design clad the vibration absorbing legs better than most aluminum-based concepts. Carbon fiber is more than lightweight. It is a heavyweight champ, ready to fight off contenders for the throne of image stability. Above all, a matched head that holds sway for its firm grip, unwavering position, and smooth dexterity. The A-Team of Travel.
  • The twist-lock telescopic legs cluster close-fitting about the center column for an amazingly compact traveling height of less than 17″, and with the entire unit weighing in at an ultralight 2.8 pounds, there’s nothing to stop you from carrying it with you anywhere you go. The center column can be extended to give the system a total height of 61.5″ without sacrificing stability. Each 4-sectioned telescoping leg features three position  auto-settings and can lock in place individually at preset angles for perfect stance on uneven terrain. The twist locks are fortified with a cutting-edge, wearresistant internal structure, making them immune to dust, moisture, changes in temperature, and the gradual loosening over time that can occur in inferior locking mechanisms.
  • A convenient retractable weight hook provides an additional counterbalance to hang accessories. Transverse terrain, scale the heights or explore the grottos with this rugged, extraordinary lightweight 8X carbon fiber with fashionable accents and a superior wear-resistant finish.
  • Smart and sure, ever ready for action, the 3POD TREK Series Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with Ball Head stands prepared to capture the image of your dreams.

TRIPOD DETAILS

LEG LENGTH ADJUSTMENT

  1. Turn any leg twist-lock counterclockwise to unlock the leg. The section is free to be set at any desired length.
  2. Twist the leg lock clockwise firmly to lock. Hold the adjacent segment to preserve the leg’s settings.
3POD recommends that the sections be extended in a specific order to favor stability over height. Legs with wider diameters are less subject to vibration; therefore, extend the highest and thickest leg section first. Never over loosen the twist locks to avoid damage to the tripod!

LEG ANGLE ADJUSTMENT

  1. Press the Angle Adjustment Button to release the pos ition lock.

  2. Upon release, the lever will lock to a preset angle in 3 splay pos itions, 20°, 50°, and 70°. The trigger spring action automatical ly sets the first angle when the leg is lifted.
The second angle is achieved by raising the leg after pressing the Angle Adjustment Lever past the first stop. The third and highest level can be reached by pressing and lifting the leg to the third stop.

  3.  Do not lower the leg with the unreleased latch unless you want to go down to the next preset angle.

  4. Each time the leg is brought closer to the center, the lower the Angle Adjustment Button’s spring lock stops and the lower position.

  5. Each leg can be independently set according to the situation presented in the environment, steps, uneven terrain, or flattest of surfaces.

THE CENTER COLUMN

  1. Turn the Center Column Twist Lock counterclockwise to unlock the center column. The sliding column can be set to any vertical position.
  2. Twist the Center Column Twist Lock clockwise to fix the height of the column.

CENTER COLUMN SPRING HOOK

The Center Column has a hook that is helpful to maintain stability. Use sandbags, waterbags, backpacks, and even rocks in a plastic bag to enhance the balance of the three-legged camera support by suspending them on the hook. Newton was right! Gravity rules!

MONOPOD MODE

The Spring Hook for weighing down the tripod is removable to transform the Center Column into a handy Monopod.

  1. Unscrew the Spring Hook attachment ring and remove it from the end of the column. Keep it safe and saved for future use.
  2.  Grasp the tripod leg with the upper section enwrapped in foam and twist it clockwise until it unscrews from the socket.
  3. Screw the Center Column to the foam-coated leg and join them to create your Monopod.

TALKING BALL HEADS

Now, what good is an incredible travel tripod without a head?! Like, nowhere! So let’s talk heads. This 3Pod TREK Series Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod includes one dandy Ball Head.

Here’s how to have a ball with the head

  1. Join the Ball Head to the Center Column Loading Plate. There is a 3/8″ bolt protruding from the plate. There is a 3/8″ tap in the base of the ball head.

  2.  Tighten the lock knob on the ball head base that controls the panoramic pan. This prepares the head for securing the coupling.

  3. Screw the bolt into the base of the ball head.

  4. Next, remove the Quick Release Plate from the head by turning the Quick Release Knob (b) counterclockwise to loosen the grip on the plate.

  5. Screw the¼” x20 bolt of the Quick Release Plate to the bottom of the imaging device you want to use on the tripod

  6. Insert the device with the plate so that the dovetail fits within the rails of the Arca Swiss Quick Release grasp and tighten the Quick Release Knob clockwise.
The plate has a user-preferred center position for the horizontal plane, depending on the balance point for the camera.

  7. The position of the imaging device is controlled by the Ball Locking Knob and the 360-degree Panoramic Base through the Panning Knob.

  8. For extra stability for vertical stills, the head has a U-shaped groove for resting the attached device in a cradle for additional support. The neck that leads from the ball to the Quick Release Plate assembly fits into the slot.

  9. Shoot stills or video with confidence that your device is firm and steady in the 3Pod TREK Series Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with Ball Head.

TRAVEL-FRIENDLY PREP

The crowning glory of the TREK Series Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with Ball Head is (surprise!) traveling! The legs flip up to a nice compact stance and are ready to fly!

  1. Unlock the Center Column by turning the Locking Collar counterclockwise. Align the Ball Head so that the Arca Swiss Quick Release Platform is perfectly flat along with the neck of the Ball.
  2. Slide the Column to maximum height.
  3. Press and hold the Leg Angle Adjustment Lock for each leg as you swing them upward to meet the center column. All three legs nestle together to form a tight cluster for the most compact travel-ready package.

NOTES

  1.  Do not exceed the maximum payload.
  2. When using the tripod, always lock the central column. Lock or tighten every place that has been loosened during setup.
  3. Always use the tripod safely. It’s not a baseball bat!
  4.  Do not use at temperatures below -104° F/-40° C or more than 212° F/100° c.
  5. Do not expose to wet, sandy, or dusty environments, especially seawater.
  6. Protect the tripod from direct or indirect sun exposure and avoid high temperature environments, such as vehicle interiors.
  7. Do not set the tripod as a trip magnet for unaware people in private or public areas.
  8. Use a mild detergent and a soft towel to clean the tripod. Pay particular attention to the lock system and the sliding leg extensions.
  9.  Do not expose the tripod to electrical currents. The results could be shocking!
  10. And, we repeat: Never over loosen the twist locks to avoid damage to the tripod!
