Product Information

The HUEDATM DMX512 Decoder is a device designed for indoor and outdoor use. It is used to control LED lighting fixtures with a DMX512 signal. The decoder has four channels, each capable of handling up to 5 amps of current, and can support LED lighting fixtures with a power output of 60-180 watts per channel. The decoder is compatible with a regulated (listed) constant voltage Class 2 power supply, with an input voltage range of 12V~36V DC. This product comes with a 3-year limited manufacturer warranty.

Usage Instructions

1. Before installation, read all warnings and installation instructions carefully, as they may have been updated from previous versions.
2. Ensure that the installation is done in accordance with the Electric Code and local regulations. Disconnect power before installing or servicing.
3. Use only a regulated (listed) constant voltage Class 2 power supply (12-24V DC) to power the decoder. Never use this product with dimmable or magnetic dimmable power source(driver).
4. Ensure that the wire installation is adequate and that the wires are rated for in-wall or wet location use, as appropriate. Inadequate wire installation could cause overheating, resulting in a fire.
5. Refer to the wiring diagram provided in the user manual to connect the DMX master controller, Class 2 regulated driver, and RGBW LED strip to the decoder.
6. Securely mount the decoder with screws to a surface, and ensure that the wires cannot cross. Also, make sure that the wires are fully inserted.
7. The decoder has two lines – Line 1 and Line 2, each with a power input and DMX input/output. Make sure to connect the wires according to the wiring diagram for the desired zone and DMX channel.
8. For RGBW LED strips, make connections to the RGBW controller in a weatherproof box. Note that wire color for white in RGBW strip may vary.

SAFETY & WARNINGS

• This product is intended to be installed and serviced by a qualified licensed electrician. Install in accordance with the National
  Electric Code, and local regulations. Disconnect power before installing or servicing. Only power with a regulated (listed)
  constant voltage Class 2 power supply (12-24V DC). Never use this product with dimmable or magnetic dimmable
  power source(driver).

• Ensure applicable wire is installed between driver, fixture, and any controls in between. When choosing wire, factor in voltage drop,
  amperage rating and type (in-wall rated, wet location rated, etc.). Inadequate wire installation could overheat wires and cause fire.

• This product is rated for indoor-outdoor installation and can be used for damp locations.

• Do not modify this product beyond the instructions in this guide or the warranty will be voided.

• Wiring diagrams in this installation guide for basic installations. Please carefully review your installation before proceeding.

• Always be sure to mount this unit in an area with proper ventilation to avoid overheating.

• Please check if the output voltage of any LED power supplies used comply with the working voltage of the product.

• Never connect any cables while power is on and always assure correct connections to avoid short circuits before switching on.

• Please ensure that the cable is secured tightly in the connector

Operation

• Through buttons to set desired DMX512 address, 1 key is to set “hundreds” position, 2 is to set “ten” position, 3 is to set “zero” position.

• To open the connection of DMX512 controller, then it can work correctly.

Set DMX address

• Press 1st button for 2 seconds, digital display flashes to set the required DMX address, then press any button for >2 seconds to confirm.

Choose Channel (optional)

• Press 2nd button and 3rd button at the same time for 2 seconds, cH digital display flashes, then press 1st button to choose 1/2/3/4, 3 means total 3 channels, 4 means total 4 channels. Press any button for >2 seconds to confirm the 1,2,3 or 4 channels. The factory preset default is 4 channels outputs. Hence at factory reset default to RGB LED Strip.

Choose PWM frequency (optional)

• Press 1st button and 3rd button for 2 seconds, digital display flashes to show P-c.
• P means PWM frequency, press 1st to show “1”, means 1500Hz, “2” means 200Hz.
• c means dimming options, press 3rd to show “1”, means logarithmic dimming, “2” means linear dimming.
• The factory preset default is PWM frequency 200Hz with linear dimming. 2-2
