Overview
Few things are as pivotal in a player’s life than learning about the world of distortion pedals, and it’s gotten to the point where the term itself is almost a pejorative. We invite you to the world of the Catalinbread CB Distortion, a dirt box that sounds good on any amp, at any volume, in any situation where some “oomph” is required.
Everyone remembers this scenario: You’re 14, and no matter what you do, you just can’t muster up convincing hard rock tones out of your tinny practice amp. You’ve pretty much tried every last trick you’ve heard from your friends and classmates that doesn’t involve money, until that fateful day that someone whispers that familiar mantra in your ear. “Something something… distortion pedal.” Your hair stands up as you realize that this is the ticket to the big leagues. You get ahold of one of these mythical creatures and discover that it’s still rather lackluster. The CB Distortion seeks to avoid this moment, giving you a no-nonsense thick and meaty distortion that you can feel in your gut and satisfy the rabid hunger within you. With just one solitary volume control, you can get burly crunch at low volumes or dime it and use your guitar’s volume control to keep the action even.
INSPIRATION
So many distortion pedals rely on clipping and preamp emulation, but all roads lead to one destination, that nothing sounds better than a cranked amp. We decided to take a step back and see the amp for all its components, offering a harmonically-rich boost circuit in front of a saturated power amplifier. This configuration allows you to use our Distortion at any point in the chain for leads or rhythm alike, coating your amp in velvety distortion that hits you right in the chest.
POWER
The CB Distortion can accept any good quality 9vDC adapter for use with audio circuits that is filtered and regulated with a center-negative tipped plug.

Overview
A powerful introduction into the world of fuzz, the CB Fuzz puts nothing between you and rock’s most beloved effect of all time. From its humble beginnings as defective console tubes and punctured speaker cones, the CB Fuzz distills 60 years of gear history in one refined example.
Fewer things are more akin to a rite of passage in the world of electric guitar than playing one’s first fuzz pedal. More often than not, players partaking in this ritual emerge on the other side a full-blown fuzz addict. We encourage this. One thing we do not encourage is letting this experience be sullied by playing into a fuzz that is anything less than superb. This is where the CB Fuzz comes in. Whether you’re a complete fuzz novice or a well- seasoned fuzz freak, the CB Fuzz is a perfectly balanced silicon fuzz circuit (hey, even Hendrix preferred silicon!). Most folks in the know keep the fuzz knob cranked and use their guitar’s volume to tame the fuzz level at will, and we’ve taken the liberty of internally maxing that control for you; just turn on and rock!
INSPIRATION
It’s one of the quintessential foundations of rock music. You know it, you love it, you’ve played them, but for as simple as these circuits tend to be, there’s a lot more Zen-like balance between fuzz boxes than most other pedals. Small changes yield big results and much effort has been expended to crack the code and figure out the perfect combination of component values and types. Our Fuzz does just that, giving you an even-keeled amp-shredding experience that’s easy to dial in and play.
POWER
The CB Fuzz can accept any good quality 9vDC adapter for use with audio circuits that is filtered and regulated with a center-negative tipped plug.

Overview
Since rock music began, people have been cranking the volume controls on their amps in order to push them into distortion, an effect now known as “overdrive.” The CB Overdrive gives you some refined yet gritty cranked-amp tones without the hearing loss.
All the way back when electric amplification was invented, what we now know as “overdrive” was an unwanted byproduct of low-headroom amplifiers. Despite giving you the freedom to do so, product manuals sternly instructed against turning the amp’s volume knob up past a certain level, lest the amp distort. Amp manufacturers released bigger and bigger amps to allow for more volume without distortion. Eventually, everyone came to their senses and realized that amp overdrive was not only desirable, but cool. The only problem was that you had to… y’know, turn your amp up to ear splitting levels. This is where the CB Overdrive comes in. Our one-knob overdrive is internally fixed to sit right in the mix, giving you amp-like breakup regardless of where the volume is set. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense rock machine, the CB Overdrive delivers regardless of skill level.
INSPIRATION
Susumu Tamura of Maxon designed the go-to overdrive unit back in 1979, a little green number with which you may be familiar. Since then, the circuit has been refined over and over again, but the earliest person to hit it big with a total rework of the device was a man named John Landgraff. His “Dynamic Overdrive” overhauled the typical green overdrive topology and changed the circuit for the better. Our Overdrive takes Landgraff’s inspiration in kind, tailoring the classic circuit into a dead-simple specimen that lets you turn on and rock out.
