3. PRODUCT ASSEMBLY

The following tools are required to carry out the installation: screwdriver, flat-head screwdriver, adjustable pliers or wrench, stepladder, wire cutter, epoxy resin, and rated electrical tape.

Warning
To avoid electric shocks, turn the household power supply off before installing the ceiling fan.

General assembly instructions
If you hang the fan on a hook, the latter must withstand at least 100 kg.

Assembly according to the type of ceiling. (Fig. 2):

  1. Low ceilings
  2. Normal ceilings
  3. Sloped ceilings (might require a longer downrod, not supplied by Cecotec)

To assemble this ceiling fan, follow the steps below (Fig. 3-12):
1. Remove the lower and upper pins from the downrod and release the hanging ball at the top of the rod.
2. Pass the wiring from the main body through the downrod.
3. Attach the downrod to the main body by inserting the pin through the downrod and the main-body attachment. Tighten the screws provided on the main- body attachment to properly secure the downrod.
4. Remove the 4 screws that fix the upper canopy and the installation bracket. Insert the upper canopy through the downrod. Fig. 3
5. Insert the pin through the pin holes located on the upper end of the downrod. Once inserted, slide the hanging ball upward to the upper end of the downrod and fix it with one of the screws provided.
6. Make sure the pin fits in the slots located inside the hanging ball before screwing it.
7. Mark the centre of the installation bracket and use both self-tapping screws provided with their corresponding washers and pressure washers to fix the installation bracket to a wooden ceiling.

Warning
Self-tapping screws are only suitable for wooden ceilings. In case of installing the ceiling fan to concrete ceilings or joists, use a drill for making the holes and plugs or expansion screws (not included).

8. Remove the screws located on the lower part of the motor through the lamp support.
9. Screw the blade brackets to the motor through the hole in the lamp support paying attention to the warning sticker located on one of the blade brackets. Fig. 4
10. Screw the blades to the blade brackets using the screws, washers, and nuts provided. Because blades are reversible, choose the side you wish to be visible and screw them in such way that the nuts are located on the top part of the blade. Fig. 5
11. Once the installation bracket is screwed, connect the wiring. First connect the quick-connect cable to the terminal block on the installation bracket. Following the colour code (Fig. 6). From the opposite end of the terminal block, connect the wiring from the installation of your home.

Warning
The important safety precautions and instructions stated in this manual are not meant to cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. Bear in mind that common sense and caution are necessary factors in the installation and operation of this fan.

4. OPERATION

To switch the fan on or off:
− When it is turned off (OFF position), pull from the switch chain until the fan turns on. To switch it off, pull from the chain again.
− Function sequence from OFF position:
o Pull 1 time for high speed.
o Pull again: medium speed.
o Pull once more: low speed.
o Pull one last time to turn it off.

Winter/summer function. Fig.12
The switch on the fan body is a switch that moves to the left or right depending on the desired function, it is used to change the rotation direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) of the fan blades.

Winter function: move the commutator to the clockwise position. The blades will start to rotate clockwise, causing warm air to be distributed throughout the room.
Summer function: move the commutator to the counterclockwise position. The blades will start rotating counterclockwise, causing fresh air to be distributed throughout the room.

Warning
Before using the commutator, turn the fan off and make sure it has completely stopped moving to avoid personal and product damage.
