SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions thoroughly before using the appliance. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users.

• Make sure that the mains voltage matches the voltage stated on the rating label of the appliance and that the wall outlet is grounded.
• This product is designed only for household use. Do not use it for industrial or commercial purposes.
• CAUTION: Do not use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, washbasins or other vessels containing water.
• Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any non-removable part of the appliance in water or any other liquid, nor expose electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are completely dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
• Do not use the device if its cord or any other part is damaged. In this case, contact the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec.
• Keep all packaging materials away from children. Risk of suffocation.
• This appliance must be checked frequently for signs of wear or damage. If such signs are present, or if the appliance has been used improperly, contact the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec. Do not try to repair the device by yourself.
• Switch off the device immediately in the event of defects or malfunctions. Pull from the plug, not the cord, to disconnect it from the outlet.
• Do not use accessories or parts that have not been provided by Cecotec.
• Do not leave the product unsupervised during operation.
• Do not use it on animals.
• Check the power cord regularly for visible damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Technical Support Service of Cecotec to avoid any type of danger.
• Keep the device away from heat sources.
• Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
• The device may reach high temperatures during use, and avoid contact with eyes and bare skin.
• Do not use it outdoors or operate it near flammable substances such as sprays.
• Do not cover the appliance with any object during use and do not expose the power cord to the heating part of the appliance.
• Do not use the appliance simultaneously with hair mousse, spray or gel.
• Do not place the appliance directly on any non-heatproof surfaces while plugged in or operating.
• If the appliance falls into the air, unplug it immediately. Do not reach into the water!
• Never grasp the appliance by or near the straightening brush teeth when the appliance is on. Straightening brush teeth can cause burns. Do not transport the device while it is hot.
• This product may not be used by children under 8 years of age or by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge. Supervise young children to make sure that they do not play with the appliance.
• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by unsupervised children.

BEFORE USE

• Take the product out of the box.
• Remove all packaging material. Save the original box.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good condition. If any visible signs of damage are observed, contact the Cecotec official Technical Support Service immediately.

OPERATION

1. Connect the appliance to the power supply and press the power button for 2 seconds. It will automatically display the default operating temperature.
2. Select the desired temperature by pressing the “ ” and “ “ button. Higher temperature settings will be reached quicker than lower settings.
3. Temperature can be adjusted from 120 ºC to 220 ºC. Set the temperature. Digits will blink until the device’s teeth reach the set temperature.
4. The device features an ionising function. While in operation, the ion generator will produce ionic energy to achieve silky, smooth and shiny hair. The ion generator can emit a slight noise, this is completely normal.
5. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the device will automatically turn off thanks to its auto shut-off function.

Recommendation
Always select the lowest temperature setting (120 ºC) when using the straightening brush for the first time.

How to straighten hair

1. Hold the appliance by the handle, always at a safe distance from skin and eyes. Use a mirror.
2. Separate your hair into approx. 4-cm strands.
3. Begin at the roots and lay the prepared strands one at a time between the straightening brush teeth.
4. Move the straightening brush slowly from the roots through to the tips of your hair. Repeat until your hair is as straight as you desire.
5. After finishing styling, let your hair cool down.
6. Hold down the power button for 2 seconds to switch the device off.

Note

• Use the appliance on hair that is 70%-80 % dry for best results.
• Use the device with hot air flow pointing downwards to avoid water from entering it.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Turn off and disconnect the device from the main supply before cleaning it.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid or place it under running water.
• Place the device on a heatproof surface until it cools down before cleaning or storing it.
• Only use a moisturised and clean cloth to clean the product.
• Never mind the main cable around the appliance.
• Store the appliance in a safe and dry place and keep it out of the reach of children. You may hang the appliance by the hanging hook.

DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

The European Directive 2012/19/EU and 2006/66/CE on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) specify that old household electrical appliances must not be disposed of with the normal unsorted municipal waste. The crossed-out “wheeled bin” symbol on the product reminds you of your obligation to dispose of the appliance correctly. Consumers must contact their local authorities or retailers for information concerning the correct disposal of old appliances and/or their batteries.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND WARRANTY

This product is under warranty for 2 years from the date of purchase, as long as the proof of purchase is submitted, the product is in perfect physical condition, and it has been given proper use, as explained in this instruction manual.

The warranty will not cover the following situations:
The product has been used for purposes other than those intended for it, misused, beaten, exposed to moisture, immersed in liquid or corrosive substances, as well as any other fault attributable to the customer.

The warranty service covers every manufacturing defect of your appliance for 2 years, based on current legislation, except consumable parts. In the event of misuse, the warranty will not apply.
