crystal poi lite v2 Adjusting Length
Instruction Manual

FPC comes with flow mojo and glitter bomb contact poi, conversion kits, and meteor poi. In most props, you would adjust the length on the knob end. For meteor poi, you would need to use the hex key and remove the screws on the cord connector to adjust your length (see pic).

To adjust the length of FPC, you will need:

  • tape: Ideally masking tape, but most tape will work. Avoid super-sticky tape like gorilla or duct tape if you can, as it may tear the fibers or leave a sticky residue.
  • a very sharp knife or a box-cutter. A freshly sharpened kitchen knife works great.
  • a lighter: A torch lighter is ideal, but any source of flame will do, even a candle!
  • a marker or pen: To mark where you cut your leash.

You are going to melt about 3mm (1/8”) off the end of the rope to form a puck of hard plastic to retain your knob washers or capsule light. The melted puck that comes on the capsule-end of your leash is formed with a special mold for an extra strong connection. We recommend not modifying this end if you can avoid it, but if you must, just make the best puck you can and it should hold fine
Note: FPC (like VPC) will shrink up to 4cm (1.5”), usually in the first few months, due to internal fibers shifting. So start a little longer than you’d actually like. You can cut it down later if necessary.
Step 1: tape #1
Using a marker or pen, mark where you want your leash to end, and wrap some tape tightly around the rope at the edge of the line. You should still be able to see your marked ine. The tape should be on the part of the rope you want to keep (poi head side).
Step 2: tape #2
Wrap another piece of tape around the rope about 3mm (1/8”) from the line/the other tape. You should have about 3mm (1/8”) of exposed rope between the 2 pieces of tape.

Step 3: cut
Use a sharp knife to cut the rope at the edge of the tape you added in step 2, on the side of the line you do NOT want to keep. Do not use a lot of pressure or you can deform the rope and tape. Use a sawing motion to make a nice clean cut. A long sharp kitchen knife is great for this step.
Step 4: melt – WORK IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA!

  • Make sure any knobs, washers, etc. you want on your rope are in place, as this is your last chance!
  • Tape#1 should still be in place to hold the rope tightly together as you melt the end.
  • Hold the end of the rope at the edge of a flame, but not in the flame. You want to slowly melt it into a nice mushroom/puck of hard plastic. Avoid burning the rope, as this makes it brittle.

Step 5: finish!
Remove the tape, pull your parts into place, and go feel the flow of your new rigs!
