Product Usage Instructions

Safety Precautions:

  1. This light fitting should be connected to a 5 amp fused circuit.
  2. Suitable for indoor use only. Do not fit to newly painted or plastered surfaces.
  3. Ensure rubber seals, gaskets, and grommets are intact during installation.
  4. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

Installation Steps:

  1. Ensure you have the required tools: screwdrivers, small electrical screwdriver, and insulating tape.
  2. Isolate the circuit by removing the fuse or circuit breaker at the consumer distribution unit.
  3. Remove the existing light fitting cover.
  4. Mark the position of fixing holes on the wall surface adjacent to the supply wiring using the backplate as a guide.
  5. Drill holes, insert wall plugs, secure the backplate, and connect mains wiring through the rubber seal.
  6. Connect the wires using the connector block provided, ensuring proper insulation with electrical tape.
  7. Replace the cover of the fitting, ensuring all seals are maintained.

  • Can this light fitting be used in bathrooms?
    Yes, but if in doubt, consult a qualified electrician. Products marked IP44 can be used in ZONE 2 and the OUTSIDE ZONES.

  • Can I dim this product?
    Yes, this product may be dimmed using a conventional resistive load dimmer switch.

  • What should I do if I’m unsure during installation?

  • So that you may get the most from your new light fitting we offer the following guidelines to assist you. Some experience of electrical wiring and do-it-yourself is required to install the light fitting. If at any time you are unsure of how to proceed, please consult a qualified electrician.

Safety First

  • Light fittings should be connected to a 5 amp fused circuit.

  • This light fitting is suitable for indoor use only. It should not be fitted to newly painted or plastered surfaces as this may cause discolouration of the finish.
    Important! – If in doubt consult a qualified electrician
    This product must be installed in accordance with National Building and wiring Regulations and MUST be connected to the supply earth. If your lighting circuit does not have an earth, ask a qualified electrician to provide an earth facility.

  • This product may be dimmed using a conventional resistive load dimmer switch.

    Important! Installation of this product in a bathroom.

  • During installation ensure that any rubber seals, gaskets and grommets are intact and correctly in position. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
    Products marked IP44 can be used in ZONE 2 and the OUTSIDE ZONES.
    Products marked IP44 and connected to a 30mA RCD protected circuit can be used in ZONE 1.

Fixing instructions

  • Step 1

    • Make sure you have the following items which are required to install this light fitting:
    • Screwdrivers suitable for slotted and crosshead screws
    • Small electrical screwdriver & insulating tape
  • Step 2
    Warning!

    • Before commencing installation, isolate the circuit to be used by removing the fuse or circuit breaker at the consumer distribution unit.
    • Identify the location and direction of any hidden supply cables or service pipes before drilling fixing holes.
  • Step 3
    Remove the existing light fitting. Remove the cover of the fitting as shown in the assembly diagram.

  • Step 4
    Using the backplate as a guide, mark the position of the fixing holes onto the wall surface adjacent to the supply wiring.

  • Step 5

    • Drill holes at the positions marked and fit the plastic wall plugs supplied.
    • Insert the mains wiring through the rubber seal and secure the backplate to the wall using the screws supplied.
  • Step 6

    • Using the connector block supplied, connect the wires in the following way:

  * A fourth terminal is provided for loop in/out connections if required.
  * you have correctly identified the house wires
  * the connections are tight
  * no loose strands have been left out of the connection blocks
  • Step 7
    Wrap two layers of electrical insulation tape around the connection blocks and around the wiring 2cm each side of the connections.

  • Step 8
    Replace the cover of the fitting, making sure all seals are maintained.

Selecting the correct lightbulb

  • Maximum wattage – 18 Watts.
  • Lightbulb shape – capsule.
  • Lightbulb cap shape – G9.
    Do not exceed the maximum wattage or use a different shape of lightbulb. This may cause your light fitting to overheat.
    When fitting halogen capsules, take care not to touch the capsule directly with fingers as this will leave a residue of grease on the glass surface. This will reduce the life of the capsule.

Switch on!

Cleaning care

  • Metal finish – we recommend cleaning with a soft dry cloth.
  • Glass – remove and wash in warm water or just use a damp cloth. Don’t use abrasive materials as these may affect the finish.
