This still is the ideal equipment for distilling with the use of popular food processors. It is fitted with a clarifier and a condenser, as well as an adapter for the distillation column. This is an innovative and practical set, made of top-quality materials, including stainless steel (INOX). It is designed for easy and effective, yet innovative use. The product is distinguished by the following features, among others:

  • For popular food processors – the still’s adapter is designed to provide a tight connection with these devices.
  • Innovative application – this still allows the distillation process to be carried out in a simple yet creative way using the capabilities of the food processor.
  • Reduced expenses – using this distiller in combination with a popular food processor of your own is a cost-effective and practical solution.
  • Long-lasting product – the high quality of execution, thoughtful design, stainless steel, and a complete set of indispensable components ensure satisfaction and easy, successful distilling.
  • Electronic thermometer included – an electronic in-frame thermometer ensures precise measurement of the temperature of the vapours in the clarifier during the distillation process.
  • A complete set – universal adapter, condenser with clarifier, silicone hose for distillate collection, plasticised PVC hose with quick-release coupling for water connection, valve, electronic thermometer in a frame, and user manual.

This high-quality distilling device fitted with a condenser featuring a stainless-steel clarifier ensures many years of use, simple operation, and enjoyment of successful distillation results. This set allows distillation to be carried out using food processor – without any additional equipment. A special adapter ensures a tight connection between the still and the food processor. The classic condenser with a single clarifier allows for efficient distillation. A precision in-frame thermometer with probe makes it easy to monitor the temperature in the clarifier. Plasticised PVC hose with coupling enables quick connection of water supply and drainage. The silicone hose is used for collecting the distillate. The application of PTFE tape onto the thread of the clarifier will further seal the ball valve. Depending on your food processor, the lid closes automatically or needs to be closed manually when mixing is set. Recommended filling of the food processor container: up to 90% of capacity, not less than 25%. Distilling has never been so easy! Our abundant experience, our drive to look for novel and improved solutions, and our focus on high quality all allows us to offer proven specialist equipment for distilling.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Please note : (Before being used for the first time the set components should be washed thoroughly with a dishwashing liquid and dried. Do not use wire scourers or cleaning powders.

Mount the still on the lid of the food processor according to the pictorial instructions and check the flow of cooling water through the system. Pour the attenuated and filtered batch/mash into the food processor. The amount of liquid will depend on the type of food processor – do not exceed the maximum amount of liquidrecommended by the manufacturer, usually marked ‘MAX’ on the inside of the container. Place the lid with the condenser on the container and close tightly as recommended by the manufacturer. If the container closes automatically when START is pressed or mixing mode is selected – hold the column upright until the lid is  tightly closed. When the mixing is set, the lid closes automatically or requires manual closing. Select the manual control mode on the screen, then set the time to 90 minutes, the temperature to 90-95⁰C degrees and switch on mixing mode 1. When the temperature in the container reaches 70-75⁰C, start cooling with a gentle stream of water flowing through the condenser. Wait for condensation and discard the first 30-50 mL of distillate, as these may be harmful substances. The next portions of the liquid are the final distillate, which should be collected to a glass container. The rate at which the distillate is collected depends on the food processor and the temperature setting – the higher the temperature, the faster the collection and the more contaminated the distillate. It is therefore necessary to adjust the rate of collection and the quality of the distillate to one’s own preferences, using an organoleptic method. Distillation should be terminated when the temperature at the top of the column (measured by the thermometer under the condenser) is about 92⁰C or the aroma or strength of the distillate is unsatisfactory. If the temperature on the thermometer is below 92⁰C and the food processor timer has finished distilling, the distillation can be restarted. When the distillation is finished, the clarifier must be emptied using the valve inside it and the liquid needs to be disposed of. The cooling water supply should only be turned off once the thermometer indicates a temperature of approx. 20-40⁰C. Remove the lid of the pot only after the liquid has cooled and the liquid has been disposed of. Clean the food processor pot according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

PLEASE NOTE: The distillate should be collected when it is cool (about 20°C). If the food processor automatically opens the lid once the work is finished, bear this in mind and protect the column from falling or hold the end of the condenser when the work is finished (just above the screen of the in-frame thermometer).

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Please note : The still elements made of AISI 201 steel require maintenance and drying after each use. Lack of adherence to the recommendations of the manufacturer may result in damage to the product such as the appearance of rust, pitting or discolorations. Stainless steel is resistant to corrosion thanks to the fact that the alloy elements form a thin, transparent protective layer on its surface. It is extremely thin but provides excellent protection of the steel surface against corrosion. If it is damaged mechanically and not maintained properly, pitting may appear on it. The frequency of cleaning and maintenance depends on how frequently a given steel material is used and the conditions in which it is used.

In the case of outdoor use, where it can be expected that rain and snow will wash away the stains accumulated, discolourations may appear. In such cases, it is necessary to remove all the stains. Every stainless-steel element the surface of which is damaged will rust if it is not secured.

When cleaning stainless steel:

  • never use strongly abrasive materials or steel wool.
  • never use inorganic acids (especially hydrochloric acid) or bleaches containing sodium hypochlorite for cleaning, as they may cause surface discolourations and corrosion pitting corrosion;
  • never let stainless steel come in contact with non-alloy steel (the particles of such steel types will undergo accelerated corrosion on the stainless steel surface).

We recommend the following to take good care of the product:

  • Solid dirt and contaminations should be rinsed with clean water, followed by wiping the surfaces with a soft cloth.
  • For more severe staining – mild soap or detergent (cleaning ammonia, baking soda, vinegar, citric acid) and a soft nylon brush.
  • Rinse well after cleaning.
  • Clean the elements at least once a year.

Stainless steel maintenance

  • Mild rust : Home cleaning agents dedicated to stainless steel, containing calcium carbonate or citric acid. Rinse well with water.
  • Moderate discolourations : Clean with agents based on phosphoric acid or 10% solution of phosphoric acid. Spray the surface and wait for 30-60 minutes (according to the producer’s recommendations). After cleaning, neutralise the acid with diluted ammonia or mild alkaline detergent. Rinse well with water.
  • Severe rust : Use professional service providers or dedicated products for steel etching and passivation. Always rinse the surface with water after processing. Please adhere to the recommendations specified in the detergent user manual.
Nicks and scratches on ground or brushed surface: Remove using a polishing wheel by polishing in the direction of the surface structure (use a non-iron polishing material), then wash with a mild scouring detergent. Rinse with clean cold water and then wipe clean. Stains from oil, fat, and grease – remove with organic solvents and then with warm water with soap or mild detergent. Rinse with clean cold water and then wipe clean.

When using the methods specified above, always adhere to OHS principles.

  1. Use phosphoric and oxalic acid or etching paste only if other methods proved to be unsuccessful.
  2. Wear rubber gloves and protective eyewear and adhere to safety regulations regarding the works of this type.
  3. Ensure good ventilation when using solvents and pay attention to fire hazard.
