HEATER FOR FERMENTATION TANKS 120 W

This product is intended for a wide array of applications, mainly for the purposes of home winemaking, distilling, and brewing, as well as heating water. It enables raising the temperature up to a value optimal for a given batch, which is necessary in order to achieved an excellent final result. The heater does not feature a thermostat. This heater is dedicated to those practising home production of wine, beer, and other liquor, in order to enable them to stabilise the fermentation process properly. This is of particular importance in cool rooms, and when there is a risk of significant reduction in temperature. This heater is recommended for large fermentation containers, best with capacity of about 100 litres and made of stainless steel.

How to use

Using the heater is very simple, but requires adhering to a few rules that are important mainly for reasons of safety.

  • The heater should be fully immersed in liquid, in such a manner that it does not touch the container walls or bottom. This has to be strictly adhered to, particularly in the event of using plastic containers. The heater cable should be arranged in such a manner that prevents damage to it. The correct way of placing the heater is presented on the diagram below.
  • Once the heater is hung properly, it can be connected to a power source.
  • After achieving the batch temperature desired – according to the indications of a dedicated liquid crystal thermometer of brewer’s thermometer – the heater should be turned off, left to cool down, and then removed from the container. After using the heater it is necessary to wash it under running water.

Note! In order to evaluate the batch temperature correctly it is necessary to remember to fix the thermometer properly and to take readings in line with recommendations for use. The liquid crystal thermometer should be fixed on the outer side of the container at such a height that it is above the top level of the batch. In the event of installing a brewer’s thermometer it is necessary to slide it gently under the cover so that the sensor is immersed in the batch, while at the same time taking care not to damage the gasket and the glass tube of the heater. It is necessary to take similar care when removing the thermometer.

Safety principles

  • When purchasing the device and prior to using it, it is necessary to check whether the heater does not feature any external signs of damage. It is forbidden to use a heater with a broken housing or damaged cable.
  • The heater must not be turned on prior to immersing it in the container.
  • The heater can be placed in the container either vertically or horizontally, immersing it whole in such a manner that the heating tube is surrounded with liquid and does not touch any container elements.
  • As long as the heater is connected to the mains, it is forbidden to remove, move, or touch it. After finishing work it is absolutely necessary to disconnect the heater from the power supply, and after the plug is removed from the socket it is necessary to wait until the device cools down.
