INTRODUCTION
A dephlegmator (reflux condenser) is a type of pre-cooler intended for the pre-treatment of distillate, which allows us to obtain the purest product possible. Partial condensation of vapor occurs, as a result of which the distillate is enriched with higher boiling component (ethanol). Lower boiling fractions, which were condensed in the dephlegmator, are returned directly to the boiling vessel (flask). The offered dephlegmator is made of strong borosilicate glass, resistant to temperature changes. The dephlegmator is installed vertically between the distillation flask and the cooler. The distillation flask is connected to the dephlegmator by a silicone (or cork) stopper with an opening diameter of 9 mm. The dephlegmator is connected to the cooler by a silicone tube with an opening diameter of 8 mm. The connection diagram is shown in the figure below. To obtain high quality distillate (by removing most of the odorants) it is recommended to filter it thorough activated carbon (preferably coconut).
