Unpacking the Appliance

  1. Remove the appliance from its packaging.

  2. Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.

  3. Check the scope of delivery for completeness.

  4. If the contents of the packaging are incomplete or if damage can be detected, do not operate the appliance.
    Return it to the dealer immediately.

  5. There may still be dust or production residues on the appliance. We recommend that you clean the appliance as described under “Cleaning”.

Intended use

This appliance is designed for preparing food indoors.
It is intended for household use and similar applications.
It should only be used in the manner described in these instructions for use.
Any other use is considered improper and may cause dam- age to property or even personal injury.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use.

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance

WARNING: Risk of Burns!

  • Do not touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not move or carry the appliance when it is in operation! Allow the appliance to cool down.
  • Only carry the appliance by its casing!
  • Only use the handles (3) to open the lid.
  • The metal handles are for carrying the pizza stone.
  • Always use the accessories supplied with the appliance.
  • Do not operate the appliance without the pizza stone!
  • Do not operate the appliance under wall cabinets because of the rising heat and fumes.

Notes for Use

CAUTION: Avoid damaging the pizza stone!

  • Only use the pizza lifters supplied.
  • Do not work with sharp objects (e. g. knife, fork) on the pizza stone.
  • Do not use any utensils made of plastic, as they may melt.

Place the appliance on a stable, horizontal, clean and level surface. Make sure that the surface is heat-resistant and that the appliance is at least 20 cm away from any surrounding objects.

Electrical Connection

  1. Check that the mains voltage you intend to use matches that of the appliance. You will find the information on the type plate.
  2. Only connect the appliance to a properly installed protective contact socket.

Switching On / Off

  • Always set the temperature control (10) to the “MIN” position before plugging in or unplugging the mains plug.
  • The red indicator light (9) displays the heating process.

Pizza Stone
The pizza stone can be used on both sides. To change sides, first remove all food residue from the side of the stone. Once the stone is cleaned, turn it over. Place it back on the base.

Before First Use

  1. Clean the appliance as described under “Cleaning”.

  2. Insert the pizza stone.

  3. Close the appliance.

  4. Operate the appliance with the lid closed for approx. 10 minutes without pizza. Set the temperature control
    to “MAX” and the timer to 10 minutes. Slight smoke development is normal. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation.

  5. After the time has elapsed, unplug the appliance from the mains.

  6. Let the appliance cool down completely.

Your appliance is now ready for use.

Operation

WARNING: Danger of Scalding!
Watch out for the escaping steam. Use the handles (3).

  1. Insert the pizza stone.
  2. Insert the mains plug into the socket.
  3. Set the temperature control to “MAX” and the timer to 10 minutes. The heating time is approx. 10 minutes.
  4. The indicator light goes out when the set temperature is reached.
  5. Open the appliance with the handles on the lid.
  6. Place the topped pizza on the pizza stone.
  7. Slowly close the lid.
  8. The average baking time of a pizza is 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the pizza dough and toppings. When your pizza is done baking, open the appliance again with the handles on the lid.
  9. Remove the pizza with the pizza lifters provided.

End Operation

  1. Turn the temperature control knob to “MIN” when the timer is set to “0”.
  2. Pull the mains plug out of the socket.
  3. Maintain until the appliance has cooled down.
  4. Clean the appliance as described under “Cleaning”.

Cleaning

WARNING:

  • Always unplug the appliance from the mains and let it cool down before cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water! It could cause an electric shock or fire.

CAUTION:

  • Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
  • Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.

Pizza Stone

  • Never immerse the pizza stone in water!
  • Remove food residues with the pizza lifters and a paper towel. You can remove stubborn residues with a dish brush.
  • Wipe the stone with a damp cloth. Let it dry completely before using it again.

Viewing Window

  • The viewing window darkens with prolonged use due to cooking fumes.
  • Clean the viewing window with a slightly damp dishwashing sponge. Dry it with a cloth afterwards.

Housing
Clean the housing after use with a slightly damp cloth.

Storage

  • Only put the appliance away when it has cooled down and is clean.
  • We recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging if you do not intend to use it for a long period of time.
  • Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.

Recipe for pizza dough

200 g flour
100 ml lukewarm water
½ packet dry yeast
½ tablespoon olive oil
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of sugar

  1. Sift the flour. Then mix in a bowl with the salt. Mix the yeast and sugar with the lukewarm water until the yeast and sugar have dissolved. Work into the flour with the dough hooks of a hand mixer. Add the olive oil and knead everything into a smooth dough.
  2. On a floured work surface, knead the dough vigorously with your hands and shape into a ball. Cover the dough and leave it in a bowl in a warm, draft-free place to rise for 45 minutes.
  3. Knead the dough again thoroughly on a floured work surface and roll out to a diameter of approx. 28 cm.
  4. Spread the dough with tomato sauce and top as desired.

Make sure that the topping does not come into contact with the top heating element.
