RESMED S9 Wireless Module
Thank you for choosing the S9 Wireless module. Used with ResMed S9 devices
within the home environment, the S9 Wireless module transmits therapy data
from your device to your healthcare professional.
Please read the entire manual before using this device.
The S9 Wireless module:
- sends patient therapy data to a centralized server for later access by your healthcare professional via the internet; and
- receives settings changes to your S9 device based on instructions sent by your healthcare professional.

Setup
- Disconnect the S9 device from the power outlet.
- Align the S9 Wireless module clips with their corresponding sockets and push the Wireless module onto the S9 device [see illustrations C and D]. Ensure the module clips click into place.
- Reconnect the S9 device to the power outlet. The LED status light on the S9 Wireless module will blink slowly (1 second on, 1 second off).
After initializing, the S9 device displays the signal strength and network
information. This information displays 5 times, for 30 seconds each time. If
your healthcare professional has activated your module, the LED status light
then stops blinking and glows continuously. The S9 LCD panel displays the
standby screen. The S9 Wireless module is ready to transmit information.
Note: Do not place items on top of, under or near the S9 Wireless module
that may block reception (eg, televisions, computers).
Transmitting data
The S9 Wireless module has been programmed to automatically transmit data from your S9 device at a specific time every day.
Removing and returning the S9 Wireless module
- Disconnect the S9 device from the power outlet.
- Press and hold the release buttons located on each side of the S9 Wireless module and pull the module away from the S9 device.
- When instructed to do so, return this user guide and S9 Wireless module to your healthcare professional in the original packaging.
Cleaning and maintenance
If necessary, wipe the outside of the S9 Wireless module with a clean, dry cloth.
Save the packaging
Please keep this user guide and all the original packaging for your S9 Wireless module.
Troubleshooting
If there is a problem, try the following suggestions. If the problem cannot be solved, contact your healthcare professional.

Problem 1:
The LED on the S9 Wireless module is flashing in a fast blink pattern (twice per second)-
possible cause:
The S9 Wireless module cannot communicate with the S9 device to which it is attached. -
Solution:
Remove the S9 Wireless module from the S9 device according to the instructions. Reattach the S9 Wireless module and reconnect the S9 device to the power outlet. If the problem persists, contact your healthcare professional.

Problem 2:
The LED on the S9 Wireless module is not lit up-
possible cause:
The S9 Wireless module may not be connected to the S9 device properly, or the S9 device is not powered on. -
Solution:
Remove the S9 Wireless module from the S9 device according to the instructions. Reattach the S9 Wireless module and reconnect the S9 device to the power outlet. If the problem persists, contact your healthcare professional.

Problem 3:
The LED on the S9 Wireless module starts the slow blink sequence and never leaves this state (still blinking 10 minutes after switching on)-
possible cause:
The S9 Wireless module has not been activated by your healthcare professional. -
Solution:
If this problem persists for a few days, contact your healthcare professional.

Problem 4:
Inadequate network signal.- Solution:
Disconnect then reconnect the S9 device to the power outlet. Check the signal strength displayed on the LCD panel of the S9 device. Signal strength is displayed as a number from 1 to 5, where “1” is a very low signal strength and “5” is an excellent signal strength.
Ensure there are no items near the S9 Wireless module that may block reception,
(eg, televisions, computers). If the problem persists, contact your healthcare professional.

WARNINGS
- Beware of electrocution. Do not immerse the device or power cord in water.
- Always unplug the device before cleaning and make sure it is dry before plugging it back in.
- Do not open the S9 Wireless module. There are no user serviceable parts inside. Repairs and internal servicing should only be performed by an authorized service agent.
CAUTION
- In the US, Federal law restricts these devices to sale by or on the order of a physician.
- Only use the S9 Wireless module as specified in this guide.
- Avoid exposing the S9 Wireless module to moisture or extreme temperatures.
- Do not use liquids to clean any part of the device.
