SAFETY

1.1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR LAWN MOWERS

1.2. TRAINING

Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and the correct use of the machine.

Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine. Local regulations can restrict the age of the  operator. Retain this manual for future use.

Never operate the machine while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.

Keep in mind that the operator or user is responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property.

13. PREPARATION
While operating the machine always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. DO NOT operate the machine when barefoot or wearing open sandals. Avoid wearing clothing that is loose fitting or that has hanging cords o ties.
Thoroughly inspect the area where the machine is to be used and remove all objects which can be thrown by the machine
Before using, always visually inspect to see that the blade bolt and the blade assembly are not worn or damaged. Replace worn or damaged components in sets to preserve balance.
Replace damaged or unreadable labels.

1.4. OPERATION

Operate the machine only in daylight or in good artificial light. Avoid operating the machine in wet grass.

Always be sure of your footing on slopes.

Walk, never run.

 Mow across the face of slopes, never up and down.

Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes.

DO NOT mow excessively steep slopes.

Use extreme caution when reversing or pulling the machine towards you. Stop the blade(s) if the machine has to be tilted for  transportation when crossing surfaces other than grass, and when transporting the machine to and from the area to be used.

Never operate the machine with de fictive guards or shields, or with out safety devices, for example deflectors and/orgrasscollector,in  place.

Switch on the motor carefully according to instructions and with feet well away from the blade(s).

DO NOT tilt the machine when switching on the motor, except if the machine has to be tilted for starting. In this case, do not tilt it more than absolutely necessary and lift only the part, which is away from the operator.

DO NOT start the machine when standing in front of the discharge opening. Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts.

 Keep clear of the discharge opening at all times.

DO NOT transport the machine while the power source is running.

Stop the machine and remove the disabling device. Make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop:

−When ever you leave the machine,

−Be fore clearing blockages or unclogging chute,

−Be fore checking, cleaning or working on the machine,

−After striking a foreign object. Inspect the machine for damage and maker pairs before re starting and operating the machine.

WARNING! If the machine starts to vibrate abnormally (check immediately)

−Inspectfor damage,

−Replace or repairany damaged parts,

−Check for and tight enany loose parts.

1.5. MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the machine is in safe working condition.

Check the grass collector frequently for wear or deterioration.

Be careful during adjustment tofu the machine to prevententrapmen of the fingers between moving blades and fixed part sofa the  machine.

Always allow the machine to cool down before storing.

When servicing the blades be aware that, even though the power source is switched off, the blades can still be moved.

 Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Use only genuine replacement parts and accessories.

1.6. ADDITIONALSAFETY

DO NOT insert the lock key into mower until it is ready to be used.

Always wear protective goggles to protect your eyes from injury when using power tools.

Always keep afirm hold on the handle.

DO NOT grasp the exposed cutting blades or cutting edges when picking up or holding the mower.

DO NOT operate mower while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or any medication.

Keep hands and feet away from rotating blades. Caution – Blades coast after the mower is switched off.

Releases witch lever and wait for bladder ot anionotropy be fore crossing drive ways, walks, roads ,and any gravel-covered areas. Also  remove the lock key if you leave the mower, reach to pick up or remove something out of your way, or for any other reason that may    distract you from what you are doing.

DO NOT start the mower when standing in front of the discharge opening.

Be careful during adjustment of the mower to prevent entrapment of the fingers between moving blades and fixed parts of the mower.

Check the blade mounting bolt at frequent intervals for proper tightness.

Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws tight to be sure the equipment is in safe working condition.

When servicing the blades be aware that, even though the power source is switched off, the blades can still be moved.

DO NOT use the machine when there is a risk of lightning.

DO NOT use the machine in bad weather where visibility is limited. Failure to do so may cause fall or incorrect operation due to low  visibility.

  DO NOT replace the battery in the rain.

  DO NOT submerge the machine into a puddle.

DO NOT leave the machine unattended outdoors in the rain.

  DO NOT insert or remove the lock key in the rain.

  When wet leaves or dirt adhere to the suction mouth (ventilation window) due to rain, remove them.

DO NOT wash the machine with high pressure water.

1.7. POWERED BY RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES

The battery must be removed from the appliance before it is scrapped.

The battery is to be disposed of safely.

Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for onty yeaBattery packmaycreatea risk office when used with another battery pack.

Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal  objects, that can make a connection for nonterminal to another. Shorting the battery terminal together may cause burn surefire.

WARNING! Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact .If contactaccidentall occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes ,additionally see kmedical help.

WARNING! Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

INTRODUCTION

Part of the SV20 Series designed for the professional, offering heavy-duty, high performance, durable tools with lightweight composite designs for superior control and comfort. Operates using 2 x 20V batteries from the Sealey SV20 Series (batteries must be of the same Ah rating). 2-in-1 Function 40L rear collection bag and mulching attachment. Six selectable cutting heights ranging from 25-75mm. Wide cutting width of 40cm allows for efficient cutting times. Folding handles for easy storage. Weighing only 16.5kg makes pushing this lawn mower around the garden easy.

FEATURES

ASSEMBLY

WARNING! Always be sure that the lock key and battery cartridge are removed before carrying out any work on the mower. Failure to remove the lock key and the battery cartridge may resultin serious personal injury from accidental start-up. (fig.1) WARNING! Never start the mower unless it is completely assembled. Operation of the tools in a partially assembled state may resultin serious personal injury from accidental start-up.
5.1 REMOVING MULCHING ATTACHMENT

Open rear cover (fig2)
Pull with a litle force to remove the mulching attachment (fig.3). Hook the grass basket on the rod of the mower body as shown in the figure (fig.4)
NOTE: Make sure that the guard on the grass basket is facing down ward. Other wise, the grass basket may not catch all of cut grass.

5.1.2.   Loosen handle to release the rear cover.

5.2.   REMOVING THE GRASS BASKET AND INSTALLING THE MULCHING ATTACHMENT

To remove the grass basket and install the mulching attachment , follow the Install removal procedure in reverse.

5.3.   INSTALLING OR REMOVING BATTERY CARTRIDGE

 ‰ WARNING! Always switch off the tool before installing or removing of the battery cartridge.

 ‰ WARNING! Make sure that you lock the battery cover before use. Otherwise, mud, dirt, or water may cause damage to the product or the  battery cartridge.

 ‰ WARNING! DO NOT install the battery cartridge forcibly. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, it is not being inserted correctly.

 ▲ DANGER Hold the tool and the battery cartridge firmly when installing or removing battery cartridge. Failure to hold the tool and the  battery cartridge firmly may cause them to slip off your hands and result in damage to the tool and battery cartridge and a personal injury.

 ▲ DANGER Always install the battery cartridge fully. If not, it may accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury to you or someone around you.

  NOTE: The tool does not work with only one battery cartridge (fig.6).

5.4.  TO INSTALL THE BATTERY CARTRIDGES (fig.6).
(Batteries NOT included).
5.4.1. Pull up the locking buckle a little bit, and then open the battery cover. 1. Battery cover 2. Locking buckle
NOTE: Depending on the conditions of use and the ambient temperature, the indication may differ slightly from the actual capacity. 5.4.2. See fig.7 for charge indications.
5.4.3. Align the tongue on the battery cartridge with the slot on the mower then slide the cartridge until it locks in place with a little click (fig.8).Press the check button on the battery cartridge to indicate the remaining battery capacity. The indicator lamps light off immediately when release the check button.

5.4.4.   Insert the lock key in the place shown in fig.9 as far as it will go.

5.4.5. Close the battery cover and push it until it is latched with the locking buckle.

5.5. TO REMOVE THE BATTERY CARTRIDGE FROM THE LAWN MOWER
5.5.1. Pull up the battery cover locking buckle and open the battery cover (fig.10).
5.5.2.. Pull out the battery cartridge from the mower while sliding the button on the front of the cartridge.
5.5.3. Pull out the lock key.
5.5.4. Close the battery cover.
5.6. TOOL / BATTERY PROTECTION SYSTEM
5.6.1. The tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection system. This system automatically cuts off power to the motor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will automatically stop during operation if the tool or battery is placed under one of the following conditions:
5.7. OVERLOAD PROTECTION
5.7.1. When the battery is operated in a manner that causes it to draw an abnormally high current, the tool automatically stops and the main power lamp blinks in green. In this situation, turn the tool off and stop the application that caused the tool to become overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.
5.8. OVERHEAT PROTECTION
5.8.1. When the tool or battery is overheated, the tool stops automatically. In this case, let the tool and battery cool before turning the tool on again.
5.8.2. DISCHARGE PROTECTION
5.8.3. When the battery capacity is insufficient, the tool stops automatically . In this case, remove the battery from the tool and charge the battery cartridges or change the battery cartridges to fully charged ones.

OPERATION

6.1. SWITCH OPERATION
6.1.1. This mower is equipped with the interlock switch and handle switch. If you notice anything unusual with either of these switches, stop operation immediately and have them checked by your nearest Service Center.
‰ WARNING! Before installing the battery cartridge, always check to see that the switch lever actuates properly and returns to the   original position when released. Operating a tool with a switch that does not actuate properly can lead to loss of control and serious  personal injury.
NOTE: The mower does not start without pressing the switch button even when the switch lever is pulled on.
NOTE:   Mower may not start due to the overload when you try to mow long or dense grass. Increase the mowing height in this case.
6.1.2.   Install the battery cartridges. Insert the lock key into the interlock switch and then close the battery cover.
6.1.3. Press down the switch button and hold it. Grab the upper handle and pull the switch lever on (refer to fig.11).

4. Release switch button (which should be released as soon as the motor starts running. The mower will continue to run until you release the switch lever).
5. Switch lever (Release the switch lever to stop the motor fig.11).

6.2.   ADJUSTING THE MOWING HEIGHT
‰ WARNING! Never put your hand o leg under the mower body when adjusting the mowing height
‰ WARNING! Always make sure that the lever fits in the groove properly before operation
62.1. The mowing height can be adjusted i the range of between 25 mm and 75 mm in total 6 position. Remove the lock key, and then pull the mowing height adjusting lever outward of the mower body and move it to your desired mowing height (fig.12).

63.1. Hold the front handle with one hand, and then move the mowing height adjusting lever with the other hand (fig13)
NOTE: The mowing height figures should be used just as a guideline. Depending on the conditions of the lawn or the ground, the actual lawn height may become slightly different from the set height
NOTE: Try a test mowing of grass in a less conspicuous place to get your desired height
6.4. ADJUSTING THE HANDLE HEIGHT
‰ WARNING! Before tuming the button, hold the lower handle firmly. Otherwise, the handle may fall and cause an injury.
6.4.1. 1.Hold the lower handle firmly and tum the handle height adjust button on both sides anticlockwise to loosen.
6.4.2. 2. Rotate the lower handle up or down to your desire position, then tum the handle height adjust button on both sides clockwise to tighten (fig. 14 & fig.15)

65. USING MULCHING ATTACHMENT
The mulching attachment allows you to retum the cut grass to the ground without gathering the cut grass in the grass basket. When you operate the machine with the mulching attachment, be sure to remove the grass basket (fig.16).

MOWING

7.1 The centre lines of the front wheels are guidelines to mowing width. Using the centre lines as guidelines, mow in strips. Overlap by one half to one third the previous strip to mow the lawn evenly (fig.17)
7.2 Change the mowing direction each time to prevent the grass grain pattern from forming in just one direction.
7.3 Periodically check the grass basket for mowed grass. Empty the grass before it becomes full. Before every periodical check, be sure to stop the mower then remove the lock key and the battery cartridge
NOTE: Use this machine for mowing the lawn only. DO NOT mow weeds with this machine.

74 MOWING A LONG-GRASS LAWN
7.4, Do not try to cut long grass all at once. Instead, mow the lawn in steps. Leave a day or two between mowing until the lawn becomes evenly short
NOTE: Mowing long grass to a short length all at once may cause the grass to die. The cut grass may also block up inside of the mower body.
7.5, EMPTYING THE GRASS BASKET (fig.18)
WARNING! To reduce a risk of accident, regularly check the grass basket for any damage or weaknesses. Replace the grass basket if necessary.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING! Always be sure that the lock key and battery cartridge are removed from the mower before storing or carrying the mower or attempting to perform inspection or maintenance.
WARNING! Always remove the lock key when the mower is not in use. Store the lock key ina safe place out of reach of children
WARNING! Wear gloves when performing inspection or maintenance
WARNING! Always wear the safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields when performing inspection or maintenance.
8.1 CLEANING
Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the machine is in safe working condition after every use. Check the grass collector frequently for wear or deterioration. Use only gentile replacement parts and accessories.
NOTE: Never use petrol, benzine, thinners, alcohol or similar. Discolouration, deformation or cracks may result To maintain this product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, any other maintenance or adjustment should be performed by a Sealey authorised Service Center, always using Sealey replacement parts.
NOTE: Do not wash the machine with high pressure water.

1. Remove the lock key and battery cartridges, and then close the battery cover.
2. Put the mower on its side and clean grass clippings accumulated on the underside of mower deck
3. Pour water toward the bottom of the machine to which the blade is attached
4. Check all nuts, bolts, knobs, screws, fasteners etc. for tightness.
5. Inspect moving parts for damage, breakage, and wear. Damaged or missing parts should be repaired or replaced
6. Store the mower in a safe place out of the reach of children

8.2 REMOVE / INSTALL BLADE
WARNING! Always remove the lock key and battery cartridge when removing or installing the blade. Failure to remove the lock key and battery cartridge may cause a serious injury.
WARNING! The blade coasts for a few seconds after releasing the switch. Do not start any operation until the blade comes to a complete stop.
WARNING! Always wear gloves when handiing the blade.
83. REMOVING THE MOWER BLADE
83.1.1. Put the mower on its side so that the mowing height adjusting lever comes to the upper side. (fig.19)
83.2.2. To lock the blade, insert piece of timber or similar into the mower.

84. INSTALLING THE MOWER BLADE
84.1. To installthe mower blade, take the removal procedure in reverse
WARNING! Install the blade carefully. It has a top/bottom facing. Place the blade so that the rotational direction arrow faces outward
WARNING! Tighten the bolt clockwise firmly to secure the blade
WARNING! Make sure that the blade and all the fixing parts are installed correctly and tightened securely.
WARNING! When you replace the blade, always follow the instructions provided in this manual

CARRYING THE MOWER

Method 1: hold the front grip (2) and lower handle (1) with two people as shown in the (fig.22)
Method 2: Fold up the upper and lower handle and hold the handle and lift up the mower as shown in the fig.22

STORAGE

x DO NOT store with batteries in place
101, Store mower indoors in a cool, dry and locked place. Don’t store the mower and charger in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 40 °C (104 °F)
102, 1.Open the rear cover and take out the grass basket by holding the handle (fig.23)

10.21. Loosen the twist switch on both sides and fold the upper hande. (fig.24)
10.2.2. Loosen the handle height adjust button on both sides and fold the lower handle (fig.25).

103, To unfold the tool, follow the folding procedure in reverse:
WARNING! — Risk of Hand Arm Vibration Injury.
This tool may cause Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome if its use is not managed adequately.
This tool is subject to the vibration testing section of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
This tool is to be operated in accordance with these instructions.
Measured vibration emission value (a): 1.213 mis*
Uncertainty value (k): 1.5 ms:
Please note that the application of the tool to a sole specialist task may produce a different average vibration emission. We recommend that a specific evaluation of the vibration emission is conducted prior to commencing with a specialist task A health and safety assessment by the user (or employer) will need to be carried out to determine the suitable duration of use for each tool
NB: Stated Vibration Emission values are type-test values and are intended to be typical Whilstin use, the actual value will vary considerably from and depend on many factors Such factors include; the operator, the task or consumable.
The state of maintenance of the tool itself is also an important factor, a poorly maintained tool will also increase the risk of Hand Am Vibration Syndrome.
Health surveillance.
We recommend a programme of health surveillance to detect early symptoms of vibration injury so that management procedures can be modified accordingly.
The declared vibration total value(s) and the declared noise emission value(s) have been measured in accordance with a standard test method and may be used for comparing one tool with another.
The declared vibration total values and the declared noise emission values may also be used in a preliminary assessment of exposure.
The vibration and noise emissions during actual use of the power tool can differ from the declared values depending on the ways in which the tool is used, especially what kind of workpiece is processed
The need to identify safety measures to protect the operator that are based on an estimation of exposure in the actual condition of use.
Personal protective equipment.
We are not aware of any personal protective equipment (PPE) that provides protection against vibration injury that may resut from the uncontrolled use of this tool. We recommend a sufficient supply of clothing (including gloves) to enable the operator to remain warm and dry and maintain good blood circulation in fingers etc. Please note that the most effective protection is prevention, please refer to the Correct Use and Maintenance section in these instructions. BATTERY REMOVAL
Remove the battery. Dispose of according to local government guidelines.
Under the Waste Batteries and Accumulators Regulations 2009, Jack Sealey Ltd are required to inform potential purchasers of products containing batteries (as defined within these regulations), that they are registered with Valpak’s registered compliance scheme. Jack Sealey Ltd’s Batteries Producer Registration Number (BPRN) is BPRN00705.
WEEE REGULATIONS
Dispose of this product at the end of its working life in compliance with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). When the product is no longer required, it must be disposed of in an environmentally protective way. Contact your local solid M waste authority for recycling information
ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
** Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling centre and disposed of in a manner which is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.
