SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS – GENERAL

PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE. KEEP THIS USER GUIDE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. THIS APPLIANCE IS INTENDED FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY.

  • This appliance must not be used by children. Keep the appliance out of children.

  • This appliance may be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the potential hazards.

  • Children must not play with the appliance.

  • Cleaning and maintenance by the user must not be carried out by children.

  • Children under 8 years of age must stay away from the appliance and its supply.

  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service technician or a similarly qualified person to avoid a dangerous situation. It is forbidden to use the appliance with a damaged power cord or plug.

  • Clean the surfaces that come into contact with the food according to the instructions in this manual.
    WARNING: Incorrect use may lead to a risk of injury.

  • Take care when handling the cutting blades, mainly while emptying the coffee bean storage box or cleaning.

  • Before replacing the accessories or accessible parts that in motion during use, turn the appliance off and disconnect it from the power supply.

  • This appliance must not be immersed during cleaning.

  • Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply when leaving it unattended and before assembly, disassembly or cleaning.

  • This appliance is designed for use in the home and similar areas such as:

    • kitchenettes in shops, offices and other workplaces;
    • agricultural premises;
    • hotels, motels and other residential spaces for guests;
    • bed and breakfast establishments.

The heat element surface contains residual heat after use.
CAUTION: Never fill the kettle coffee maker above the maximum level, as hot foamy coffee or other liquids (e.g. milk, if allowed by the manufacturer) may overflow during heating.

  • The appliance is not designed to operate via an external time switch or remote control.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, supply cable or plug in water or other liquids.

SAFE USE OF THE APPLIANCE

  • The appliance is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors.
  • Do not use it for commercial purposes.
  • The appliance is designed for coffee preparation. Do not use it for any purpose other than that for which it is intended. It is forbidden to convert the appliance for another purpose.
  • Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Only use the appliance in a room where the temperature does not drop below O ‘C.
  • Follow the instructions in this User Guide.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

  • Before plugging the power plug in, make sure that the voltage on the rating plate of the appliance matches the voltage at your mains socket. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
  • Only plug the power plug into a properly earthed mains socket.
  • Do not use extension cords, multiple sockets or adapters.
  • It is recommended to connect the appliance to a separate electrical circuit.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, power cord or plug in water or any other liquid. There is a risk of electrical injury.
  • Do not touch the plug with wet or damp hands, especially when plugging in or unplugging from the power supply.
  • Route the power cord so that it does not touch hot surfaces, so that it cannot be stepped on or tripped over. Make sure that the power cord does not hang over the edge of the table or worktop, get tangled, bend excessively or touch sharp objects.
  • Switch off the appliance, unplug the power plug from the mains socket whenever you leave it unattended, do not use it, before moving, cleaning or storing it. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the mains socket by pulling the plug, not by pulling the cord. There is a risk of damage to the power cord or the mains socket.

SAFE PLACEMENT OF THE APPLIANCE

  • Do not place the appliance on window sills, sink drains or unstable surfaces. Always place it on a stable, flat and dry surface.
  • Do not place the appliance on or near an electric or gas stove, or near open flames or appliances that are sources of heat.
  • Do not use the appliance near a bathtub, sink, swimming pool or other water source.
  • The button on the control panel is used to switch off the appliance. Do not switch off the appliance by removing the power plug from the mains socket.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient clearance around the appliance to ensure air circulation.
  • Do not place the appliance near walls or other appliances. The minimum distance is 10 cm on all sides.
  • Do not use the appliance in a place where flammable, volatile or explosive substances are used or stored.

SAFE APPLIANCE OPERATION

  • Hot steam may escape from the appliance when it is in operation. Make sure there are no objects sensitive to hot steam near the appliance.
  • Do not touch the heating element when it is hot, there is a risk of serious burns.
  • Do not block the ventilation openings of the appliance. There is a risk of overheating and subsequent damage.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended while in operation.
  • Do not use the appliance empty and without water in tank.
  • Use only clean drinking water suitable for coffee preparation. When filling the water tank, do not exceed the maximum line.
  • When filling the coffee bean storage box, do not exceed the maximum line.
  • Use the kettle with this coffee maker only. Do not use it with any other appliance. Do not use it in oven, microwave, on kitchen range or cooking plate.
  • Do not expose the kettle to extreme temperatures. Do not wash a hot kettle in cold water and vice versa.
  • Do not expose the kettle to impacts and make sure it doesn’t fall.
  • Always hold the kettle by the handle. The prepared coffee is very hot and there is a serious risk of scalding if handled incorrectly.
  • To switch the appliance off, always use the power-off button. Do not disconnect the appliance from the power outlet until switched off.
  • You may notice mild smell and weak smoke after switching on for the first time. This is a normal sign that disappears with use.

SAFE MAINTENANCE

  • Follow the cleaning instructions in this User Guide.
  • If the appliance, power cord or plug are damaged or the appliance is not working properly, stop using it and contact an authorised service centre. Do not carry out the repair yourself.
  • Neither the manufacturer, the importer nor the dealer accepts liability for any damage caused by incorrect assembly or use of the product.
  • The socket must be located close to the appliance and must be easily accessible.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  • Remove all packaging and foils and store them for later use.
  • To disassemble the coffee maker, please follow the procedure below:
    1. Press the button on the side of the bean/ground coffee storage box lid and pull the lid upwards.
    2. Remove strainer from the storage box.
    3. Twist the storage box anticlockwise and pull it out of the coffee maker body.
  • Wash storage box, strainer and kettle in warm water with a small amount of washing-up liquid. Rinse in water, then wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Warning: Take extreme care when handling the storage box. The cutting blade is very sharp and there is a serious risk of injury if handled incorrectly.

  • Wipe the coffee maker outer surface with a soft sponge slightly dampened in warm water. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
  • Before reassembling the coffee maker, make sure that all parts are completely dry. Proceed as follows:
    1. Insert the storage box into the coffee maker body and turn slightly clockwise until you feel resistance and the hole in the stogare box is aligned with the hole in the coffee maker body.
    2. Insert the strainer. The strainer handle must be pointed toward the steaming chamber. Press slightly so that the tab on the handle bottom fits into the notch.
    3. Attach the lid by inserting the water supply hose in the hole, then gently press the lid until you hear a click. This indicates the lid is attached correctly.
      Insert the kettle onto the coffer maker hot plate.

PLACEMENT

  • Place the coffee maker on a firm, level and dry surface well away from the mains socket. Do not place it on a surface covered with a cloth (e.g. tablecloth) or on a heat-sensitive surface. Do not place it near heat-sensitive objects (e.g. curtains, drapes, etc.).
  • Ensure that there is sufficient clearance around the coffee maker to ensure air circulation.
  • Do not place the appliance near walls or other appliances. The minimum distance is 1 O cm on all sides.
  • Hot steam may escape from the appliance when it is in operation. Make sure there are no objects sensitive to hot steam near the appliance.

PURPOSE OF USE

  • The coffee maker is designed to prepare coffee from coffee beans or ground coffee.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Connecting to power supply

  • Only plug the power cord plug into a properly earthed mains socket.
  • A short beep sounds, the display briefly lights up blue and then the display backlight goes out.

Setting the clock
When the power cord is plugged in, the display shows the default clock value of “12:00”.

To set the clock, proceed as follows:

  1. Press the button to switch the coffee maker on.
  2. Press the button briefly and the clock time starts flashing.
  3. Press the+/- buttons to set the clock time.
  4. Press the button to confirm and the clock minutes will start flashing.
  5. Press the+/- buttons to set the minutes.
  6. Press the button to confirm or wait for about 5 seconds until the clock time stops flashing.

Note: To speed up the clock hour or minute setting, long press the+ or – button.

  • If you do not press any button within 5 seconds, the time indication will stop flashing, indicating that the clock setting has not been completed. It’s necessary to start over again.

Rinsing the coffee maker
Before using the coffee maker for the first time, or if you have not used the coffee maker for a prolonged period of time, we recommend rinsing it.

  1. Fill the tank with clean cold water up to the maximum level line.
  2. Insert the kettle in the coffee maker.
  3. Only plug the power cord plug into a properly earthed mains socket.
  4. Press the button to switch the coffee maker on.
  5. Press the START button to start the coffee maker.
  6. Allow the coffee maker to empty the entire tank content.
  7. Upon finishing the cycle, empty the kettle content and insert kettle back.
  8. Repeat the entire process once again.

Warning: Be careful when handling the kettle. The water inside will be very hot.

Coffee preparation

  1. Remove the lid and fill the storage box with roasted coffee beans or ground coffee. The amount depends on the number of cups to be prepared and your personal taste.
    Warning: Prevent the coffee beans or ground coffee from falling into the water supply hole.

  2. Put the lid back on.

  3. Open the tank lid pour in clean and cold water. When filling, always observe the maximum level line. Never overfill the tank.

  4. Close the tank lid.

  5. Insert the kettle in the coffee maker.

  6. Only plug the power cord plug into a properly earthed mains socket.

  7. Press the button to switch the coffee maker on.

  8. Press the button repeatedly to select preparation from coffee beans of ground coffee:
    : select to make coffee from coffee beans, 1 to 2 cups;
    : select to make coffee from coffee beans, 3 to 4 cups;
    : select to make coffee from ground coffee.

  9. Press START and the coffee maker will start making coffee.

  10. If you selected preparation from coffee beans, the coffee maker will grind the beans first. If you selected making 1 to 2 cups of coffee, the grinding time will be about 25 seconds; if you selected making 3 to 4 cups of coffee, the grinding time will be about 28 seconds.

  11. The coffee preparation will start. The icon will be flashing on display while the coffee making is in progress.

  12. The coffee maker will remain in operation as long as there is water in tank.

  13. When the coffee preparation is finished, three short beeps will sound. The icon will light up on display. After that, the display backlight goes out and only the button will remain under lit. This is indicates that the coffee maker has been switched into the coffee temperature keeping mode. The coffee make hot plate will keep the coffee in the kettle warm.

  14. The coffee temperature keeping mode will remain active for 30 minutes. The coffee maker switches off and enters standby mode then. The icon will go out on display.

  15. The coffee kettle can be removed from the coffee maker at any time during the brewing process and during the coffee temperature keeping mode. The anti-drip valve prevents the coffee from dripping onto the hot plate. Once the coffee is poured into the cups, put the kettle back into the coffee maker. While the coffee brewing is in progress, we recommend to put the kettle back within 30 seconds to avoid the coffee overflow inside the dispensing chamber.

Note: The pump sound will be heard during the coffee brewing. This is a normal sign.
Warning: Do not remove the storage box bin during the coffee brewing. Avoid the lid contacting the steam at the steam outlet. High temperature steam may be escaping at this point. There is a risk of serious scalding!
Warning: Do not touch the hot plate during the coffee brewing or coffee temperature keeping mode. There is a risk of serious burning as the hot plate is being heated to a high temperature.
Note: The coffee maker will store the last coffee preparation setting in memory. Before starting the coffee maker, please check its settings and change the preparation from coffee beans to ground coffee or vice versa as needed. The setting will be cancelled as soon as the power cord is unplugged from the mains outlet.

Coffee temperature keeping mode

  • The coffee temperature keeping mode is active for 30 minutes after the coffee brewing process is finished.
  • During this time, the icon will light on display.
  • In the coffee temperature keeping mode, the coffee maker will switch on in regular intervals. A short switching may be heard. This is a normal sign. The temperature sensor detects the hot plate temperature and if the temperature drops, it will switch the coffee maker on to balance the temperature.
  • After 30 minutes, 3 short beeps will sound and the coffee maker will switch off. The button will go out and the icon will disappear on display.
  • If you need to end the coffee temperature keeping mode, use the button to switch the coffee maker off or set another coffee brewing cycle.

Automatic start
The automatic start feature allows you to set the time when the coffee maker is to be switched on and start the coffee brewing. It’s important for you to set the clock correctly, otherwise this feature won’t work properly.

Important: After setting the automatic start time, DO NOT PRESS START. Otherwise the coffee maker would start.

  • If you need to cancel the automatic start feature, long press the button.
  • If you need to change the automatic start time, press the button briefly. The clock time numbers will start flashing. Then, follow the steps 3 to 7 as described above. If you do not take any action within 5 seconds, the automatic start time setting will be cancelled, the display will show the current time and the backlight will go out after 30 seconds of inactivity.

Recommended dosage of coffee beans and ground coffee
To dose coffee beans and ground coffee, always use the supplied measuring cup.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Before starting cleaning and maintenance, switch the coffee maker off, unplug the power cord from the mains socket and allow it to cool down.
  • Please clean the coffee maker after each use.

Warning: Do not immerse the appliance, power cord or plug in water or any other liquid. There is a risk of electrical injury.
Note: Do not use any abrasive or chemical cleaners, benzene, solvents, alcohol, etc. for cleaning. Do not use wire cloths or other tools that may scratch the surface.

Cleaning the storage box

  • To disassemble the coffee maker, please follow the procedure below:
1. Press the button on the side of the bean/ground coffee storage box lid and pull the lid upwards.
2. Twist the storage box anticlockwise and pull it out of the coffee maker body.
3. Remove strainer from the storage box.
  • The used coffee is to be mulched or disposed of in municipal waste.
  • Wash the strainer in running clean water to remove any ground coffee residues.
  • Rinse the storage box.
  • Rinse the strainer on the lid’s inner side carefully under clean running water.
  • Wash storage box and strainer in warm water with a small amount of washing-up liquid. Rinse in water, then wipe dry with a clean cloth.
  • Wipe the storage box lid with a soft sponge slightly dampened in warm water. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Cleaning kettle and measuring cup

  • Allow the kettle to cool down completely before cleaning.
  • Wash kettle and measuring cup in warm water with a small amount of washing-up liquid. Rinse in water, then wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Coffee maker’s outer surface

  • Wipe the coffee maker’s outer surface with a soft sponge slightly dampened in warm water. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
  • Using a soft sponge, wipe both inside and outside of the coffee dispensing area with an anti-drip valve.

Storage

  • Before storing, clean the coffee maker according to the instructions above.
  • Store the coffee maker in its original box or other packaging in a dry and shady place out of reach of children and pets.

Descaling

  • The coffee maker must be descaled regularly to remove mineral deposits and limescale that can form in the coffee maker internal circuit through use. These can affect the coffee maker operation and impair the quality and taste of the brewed coffee.

  • For descaling, use commercially available descaling agents that are specifically designed for drip coffee makers.

  • The descaling frequency depends on the hardness of the water used to make the coffee. If you use soft water, descale the coffee maker at least once every three months; if you use hard water, descale the coffee maker at least once a month. If you use mains water, check with your water supplier if you are unsure of its hardness.

  • Carry out the descaling process if the coffee maker is noisier than usual when making coffee, if the brewing time is longer than usual, or if the coffee maker stops brewing before the water tank is empty.

  • To carry out the descaling, proceed as follows:

    1. Dissolve the descaling solution in a bowl. Follow the instructions on the descaling agent package label.

    2. Pour the descaling agent in the tank up to the maximum level mark.
      Note: If you are using solid descaling agent, make sure that it’s completely dissolved before pouring it into the tank.

    3. Press the button to switch the coffee maker on.

    4. Press the button to select preparation from ground coffee.

    5. Press START to let the coffee maker empty the tank.

    6. Pour out water in the kettle and put the kettle back in the coffee maker.

    7. Repeat steps 1 to 5 with a new descaling agent. Not not reuse descaling agent.

    8. Then fill the tank with clean water and start the coffee maker to flush its internal system and remove any residues of descaler, mineral deposits and limescale.

    9. Pour out water in the kettle and put the kettle back in the coffee maker.

    10. Fill the tank with clean water again and start the coffee maker to flush its internal system and remove any residues of descaler, mineral deposits and limescale.

Warning: Do not interrupt the descaling process. Always allow the coffee maker to finish the entire descaling process.

Observe the rules for working with electrical equipment. The user is not authorised to disassemble the equipment or replace any of its components. There is a risk of electrical injury if the covers are opened or removed. Incorrectly assembling and reconnecting the equipment also exposes you to the risk of electrical injury.

The warranty period for products is 24 months, unless otherwise stated. The warranty does not cover damage caused by non­standard use, mechanical damage, exposure to aggressive conditions, handling contrary to the User Guide and normal wear and tear.
