Before using this toaster, read and observe the following basic safety measures carefully:

  • Do not turn on the toaster without the crumb tray in place at the bottom. Empty the tray regularly so that crumbs do not accumulate in it.
  • Ensure that the toaster is operated on a stable and level surface that does not get hot and that it is out of the reach of children.
  • DO NOT immerse the product in water or any other liquid as this may cause electric shock.
  • The toaster can only be used to toast bread.
  • Some parts of the appliance may become very hot when toasting.
  • DO NOT move the appliance when it is switched on.

Using the toaster

TIP: When toasting for the first time, you may smell a slight odour or see light smoke. This is normal and will disappear after a while, it is the burning of the anti-corrosive agents on the metal parts.

  1. Plug the appliance into a socket.
  2. Insert one or two slices of bread or other appropriate pastry into the toasting slots.
  3. Choose the required browning level (1 – minimum, 6 – maximum). When using it for the first time, it’s recommended to set it to level 3. Different kinds of pastry require different settings.
  4. Push the lever down until you hear a click. Toasting will begin automatically. If the toaster is not plugged in, the lever will not stay down.
  5. The toaster will turn off automatically when the set browning level has been reached. The bread will pop up, so it can be removed easily. The toasting procedure may be stopped at any time by using the CANCEL button.

REHEAT – after setting the REHEAT level, the bread will heat up but will not darken further; after the cycle is complete, the toaster will automatically turn off and the bread will pop up.
DEFROST – toasting of frozen pastries: If the pastry is frozen when it is put into the toaster, the procedure will be the same. Push the lever down, press the DEFROST button immediately.

Maintenance

  • This toaster has an integrated crumb tray which is easy to remove and keeps the toaster and the surrounding area clean. Always empty the tray after the toaster has cooled down and after the toaster has been unplugged. The tray may be washed. Put it back in the toaster only after it has fully dried.
  • Crumbs that remain inside the toaster on the heating element may be removed carefully with a brush. The outside surface may be washed down with a damp cloth. Do not use sharp items or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning and maintenance.
