Assembly Instructions
PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
Carefully remove the new fixture from the carton as well as the yellow bag
that holds all of the parts. See the important notes above. Shut off power at
the circuit breaker and remove old fixture from wall, including the old
mounting strap. (PLEASE NOTE: This fixture has multiple installation options.
Before beginning, please review these instructions carefully.) TO INSTALL OVER
AN EXISTING JUNCTION BOX AND HARDWIRE THE FIXTURE REFER TO DIAGRAM (1) AND THE
SIDE DIAGRAMS WHICH DIFFERENTIATE MOUNTING PLATE (N) FROM MOUNTING BRACKET
(B): 1. Mounting plate (N) is attached to backplate (D). To begin, remove
mounting plate (B) from backplate (D) so that only mounting bracket (N) is
used. Place mounting bracket (N) up against your junction box. Insert mounting
screws (A) into the mounting bracket (N). Position the mounting bracket so
that the mounting screws (A) are level and parallel with the floor. Use nuts
(F) to hold mounting screws (A) in place. 2. Leave at least 8 to 10 inches of
fixture wire for wiring. Use a pair of scissors to trim the plug-in cord (P)
as shown on the diagram. Pull the cord (P) up through the hole in the bottom
of the backplate (D) and plug the hole with stopper (R). 3. Pull the house
wires from the junction box through the center of the mounting bracket (N).
Secure mounting bracket (N) to the junction box with mounting screws (C) and a
screwdriver. Tighten the screws securely. TO INSTALL ON A WALL AND POWER THE
FIXTURE USING THE PLUG REFER TO DIAGRAM (2): 1. Mounting plate (B) is attached
to backplate (D) already by the factory. To begin, mark the needed holes for
securing the fixture. Remove mounting plate (B) from backplate (D). Hold the
fixture up to the wall to test placement for backplate (D). After you
determine the proper placement, hold mounting plate (B) up to the wall and
insert mounting screws (Y) into mounting plate (B) as shown in the diagram,
use nuts (F) to hold the screws (Y) in place. Check that the mounting screws
(Y) are parallel and level to the floor. Use a pencil to mark the wall through
the circular keyholes in the mounting plate (B). 2. Use a drill bit to create
two holes on your pencil marks and insert plastic screw anchors (A) into the
holes made until the plastic screw anchors (A) are flush with the wall. 3.
Align mounting plate (B) with the plastic screw anchors (A). Using a drill or
screwdriver, insert mounting screws (C) into the plastic screw anchors (A).
Tighten securely.
ASSEMBLING THE FIXTURE
No Assembly Required – This item arrives assembled and ready for installation.
Please proceed to the next step.
CONNECTING THE WIRES
IF HARDWIRING THE FIXTURE TO WALL, REFER TO DIAGRAM LABELED “(1)” AND THE
WIRING INSTRUCTIONS BELOW. DO NOT FOLLOW THESE WIRING INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU ARE
MOUNTING FIXTURE TO THE WALL AND USING PLUG TO POWER FIXTURE, ALSO REFERRED TO
AS DIAGRAM LABELED “(2)”. 4. Have an assistant support the fixture’s weight
while completing the wiring. Refer to the wiring diagram and attach the
fixture’s wires to the power supply wires from the junction box. Attach the
fixture’s wires to the power supply wires from the junction box. Connect Hot
to Hot (transparent wire with black inner thread, black, or smooth wire)
Neutral to Neutral (transparent wire with white inner thread, white, or ribbed
wire), and Ground to Ground (transparent wire with green inner thread, green
wire, or copper). Twist the ends of the wire pairs together, and then twist on
a wire connector. Make sure all twists are in the same direction. If there is
no house ground wire coming from the junction box, locate ground screw (E) on
the mounting bracket/mounting strap and wrap the fixture’s ground wire around
the ground screw. Use a screwdriver to tighten the top of ground screw (E)
onto the wires and into the mounting bracket/mounting strap. Tuck the wires
into the junction box.
FINISHING THE INSTALLATION
(PLEASE NOTE: This fixture has multiple installation options. Before beginning, please review these instructions carefully.) TO INSTALL OVER AN EXISTING JUNCTION BOX AND
HARDWIRE THE FIXTURE REFER TO DIAGRAM (1):
5. Place backplate (D) over mounting bracket (N) until mounting screws (A)
protrude from the holes in backplate (D). Use deco nuts (G) to secure
backplate (D) by threading deco nuts (G) onto the exposed threads of mounting
screws (A). 6. Refer to the diagram and secure hook (S) onto the fixture arm
using small screw (U) and provided tool (T). Tighten small screw (U) until
secure and hook (S) is in the preferred position to prevent fixture arm
overlap. 7. Take harp fitter (H) and unscrew cap (O) from the threads on top
of harp fitter (H). Set cap (O) aside for later. Place the assembled harp
fitter (H) into saddle (I) until caps on harp fitter (H) slide down onto
saddle (I) to secure. 8. Slide washer (L), shade (M), and washer (N) in the
order shown on diagram on top of the exposed threads of harp fitter (H). Use
cap (O) to secure washers (L), shade (M), and washer (N) to the harp fitter
(H). 9. Install a light bulb (not included) into socket (K) in accordance with
the fixture’s specifications. Do not exceed the maximum recommended wattage.
Your installation is now complete. 10. Twist knob (Q) clockwise to turn on the
fixture. To power the fixture off, twist the knob (Q) counterclockwise.
TO INSTALL ON A WALL AND POWER THE FIXTURE USING THE PLUG REFER TO DIAGRAM
(2):
5. Place backplate (D) over mounting bracket (B) until mounting screws (Y)
protrude from the holes in the backplate (D). Use deco nuts (G) to secure the
backplate (D) by threading deco nuts (G) onto the exposed threads of mounting
screws (Y). Take cord (P) from backplate (D) and prepare for the plugin. 6.
Refer to the diagram and secure hook (S) onto the fixture arm using a small
screw (U) and provided tool (T). Tighten small screw (U) until secure and hook
(S) is in the preferred position to prevent fixture arm overlap. 7. Take harp
fitter (H) and unscrew cap (O) from the threads on top of harp fitter (H). Set
cap (O) aside for later. Place the assembled harp fitter (H) into saddle (I)
until caps on harp fitter (H) slide down onto saddle (I) to secure. 8. Slide
washer (L), shade (M), and washer (N) in the order shown on diagram on top of
the exposed threads of harp fitter (H). Use cap (O) to secure washers (L),
shade (M), and washer (N) to the harp fitter (H). 9. Install a light bulb (not
included) into socket (K) in accordance with the fixture’s specifications. Do
not exceed the maximum recommended wattage. Your installation is now complete.
10. Plug-in cord (P) to your nearest outlet and twist knob (Q) clockwise to
turn on the fixture. To power the fixture off, twist the knob (Q)
counterclockwise.
