EiKO SEN5A-ACT Sensor Commissioning Tool

EiKO SEN5A-ACT Sensor Commissioning Tool

OVERVIEW

The SEN5A-ACT is a handheld tool for commissioning EiKO sensors remotely. It enables reprogramming the sensors with just a push of a button, without the need for ladders or additional tools. The tool can store up to four sensor parameter modes, making it faster to configure multiple sensors. The bidirectional IR communication allows for sending and receiving sensor settings from a distance of up to 50’. The tool can display existing sensor parameters, copy and transmit new parameters, and store parameter profiles, providing an efficient solution for projects where identical settings are required in multiple areas or spaces. Settings can be easily copied across a site or between different sites.

PROGRAMS COMPATIBILITY

The SEN5A-ACT commissioning tool consists of two remote programs: SEN5A-ACT and SEN5A-CT. The SEN5A-ACT program is used for commissioning new EiKO sensors introduced after 2023. The SEN5A-CT program is used to commission sensors previously commissioned using EiKO SEN5A/CT and Premise RC-100. Please ensure to check the sensor’s compatibility and select the appropriate program for your commissioning needs.

PARAMETERS FUNCTION

PARAMETERS SEN5A-ACT SEN5A-CT
POWER Adjust max Brightness level from 0% to 100% in sensor mode
and photocell mode Adjust max Brightness level to 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25%

in sensor mode
SENS| Sensor mode: Sensitivity set from 1% to 100% Photocell Mode: Sensitivity set to disable| Sensor mode: Sensitivity set to 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25%
HOLD TIME| Following the detection of the last motion, the duration for which the luminaire will remain at the selected

POWER brightness ranges from 10 seconds to 24 hours.

| Following the detection of the last motion, the duration for which the luminaire will remain at the selected POWER brightness ranges from 10 seconds to 60 minutes.
LUX MODE| Photo_Con : Dusk to Dawn Function

Adjust LUX IN from 10 to 100 lux, the luminaire turns on when the ambient light level is below the set lux level.

Adjust LUX OUT from 100 to 500 lux, the luminaire turns off when the daylight level is above the set lux level.

| Photo_Con : Dusk to Dawn Function

Adjust LUX IN from 10 to 100 lux, the luminaire turns on when the ambient light level is below the set lux level.

Adjust LUX OUT from 100 to 500 lux, the luminaire turns off when the daylight level is above the set lux level.

D_Harvest : Daylight Harvesting Function

Adjust LUX levels between 10 and 500 lux to maintain the desired ambient brightness, while the Learn function re- members and maintains the current brightness level.

| Daylight: Daylight Function

Adjust LUX from Learn, 10 lux, 30 lux, or 50 lux. The lumi- naire turns on when the ambient light falls below the set lux level, while the Learn function remembers and maintains the current brightness level. When the daylight function is enabled, the DIM TIME must be finite.

If the LUX is set to DISABLE , the luminaire operates regard- less of the ambient light level.

DISABLE: disable daylight function; the luminaire operates regardless of the ambient light level.|
DIM LEVEL| Sensor mode: Adjust DIM LEVEL from 0% to 100%. If no motion is detected within the HOLD TIME, the luminaire will dim to a set dim level for the selected DIM TIME. After DIM TIME has expired, the luminaire will remain at the set dim level if the DIM TIME is set to infinity. However, the luminaire will turn off if the DIM TIME is finite.

Once the motion is detected, the luminaire returns to the set

POWER brightness level.

Photocell mode: Adjust DIM LEVEL from 0%-100%. After HOLD TIME has expired, the luminaire dims and remains at a set dim level until the next dimming or power cycle.

DIM TIME| Adjust DIM TIME from 1minute to infinity ( INF ). The DIM TIME setting determines the duration the sensor will  keep the luminaire at the DIM LEVEL after the HOLD TIME has expired.

Note: In Photocell mode, the DIM TIME is configured to an infinite value.

HOW TO USE THE REMOTE

WARNING: After pressing the On/Off button, the sensor enters a permanent On/Off mode. To exit this mode and return to the previously saved setting, the Auto button must be pressed to enable the sensor.

  1. Press DISP button to display the EiKO logo or the latest settings.
  2. Select the remote program SEN5A-ACT or SEN5A-CT and press the OK button. If necessary, use EXIT orIndicator And Buttons Functions button to return to the Type Selection menu for remote programs.
  3. Use up and down buttons to select parameters.
  4. Press OK button to adjust and use directional buttons to set the desired settings.
  5. Press OK button to save changes.
  6. Aim remote at sensor and press SEND button to transmit new settings. Luminaire connected to the sensor will start flashing on and off, indicating that the new parameters have been successfully received and confirmed.

Note: The sensor has a 40-second warm-up time after being connected to power for the first time. Do not send new parameters during this time to avoid errors. Once the warm-up time is over, the light will enter dimming mode, and the sensor will operate normally, allowing new parameters to be sent and adjusted.

Note: If the remote interface continuously loops back to the EiKO logo, it indicates that the remote’s low battery power level needs to be replaced.

Note: To prevent damage or leakage from the batteries, removing them from the remote is recommended if it is not used for 30 days or more. This helps maintain the performance and longevity of the remote, ensuring that it is in good condition and ready for use when needed.

Note: If communication with the sensor is unsuccessful, try moving closer to it, if possible. If communication remains unsuccessful, the cause may be excessive IR interference from other sources. In this case, programming the sensor during nighttime may be the only way to establish communication with it when no daylight is available.

Note: Removing the batteries from the remote control will reset Mode1, Mode2, Mode3, and Mode4 to their default settings, erasing any custom changes made to the parameters and returning the remote to its original state. It is crucial to store or back up the parameters to preserve custom settings before removing the batteries.

Note: The microwave sensors should be installed on stable and immovable fixtures only. Avoid using it with chain/cable-mounted fixtures as even slight swings can trigger the sensor. You may reduce the sensitivity to prevent false activation if required.
