Before Use
Charge the Battery
CAUTION:
- Read the Safety Information Booklet before charging.
- The remaining lithium-ion battery power is limited to 30% pursuant to the new lithium battery shipment regulation approved by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Use the USB Type-C cable to connect the radio with battery attached to the
power adapter, power bank, or PC.
You can learn the charging status through the LED indicator.

Attach the Belt Clip
Align the holder on the belt clip with the groove on the battery, and then
press the belt clip downwards into place.
NOTE: You can press and hold the belt clip spring plate and push the belt clip upwards to remove it.
Attach the Audio Accessory
CAUTION: For optimal waterproof and dustproof performance, do as
follows:
- Attach the accessory with care to avoid scraping the silicone rubber surrounding the audio jack.
- Close the audio jack cover after removing the accessory.
- Open the audio jack cover.
- Insert the audio accessory plug into the audio jack.
Basic Operations
Turn On or Off the Radio
Long press the Back/On-Off key.
Force Restart the Radio
If the radio fails to work properly, you can force restart the radio.
- (Optional) Disconnect the USB Type-C cable from the radio.
- Long press the Back/On-Off key for over 13s.
Adjust the Volume
- Set the tone volume to Current Tone.
- a. In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Tones, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- b. In the Tones interface, select a service or operation, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- c. Select Current Tone, and the press OK/Menu key.
- Press the Volume Up key to increase the volume, or Volume Down key to decrease the volume.
Select a Zone
A zone is a group of channels within the same operational area. The radio
supports 8 zones, each of which consists of up to 16 channels.
- Through Zone List
1. On the home screen, press the OK/Menu key.
2. Press the Up key or Down key to select Zone, and then press the OK/Menu key.
3. Select the zone, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Through Programmable Key
Press the preprogrammed Zone Up or Zone Down key.
Select a Channel
The radio receives and transmits voice and data on the selected channel.
Before selecting a channel, make sure that the current zone contains the
channel. The radio can be configured with 256 channels.
To select a channel, rotate the Channel Selector knob.
Select a Contact
- On the home screen, press the OK/Menu key.
- Press the Up key or Down key to select Contacts, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Select Contact List, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Select Private Call, Group Call, or All Call, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Select a contact, and then press the OK/Menu key.
Check Device Info
- On the home screen, press the OK/Menu key.
- Press the Up key or Down key to select Device Info.
- Press the OK/Menu key.
You can view the radio ID, model, firmware version, serial number, and more.
Status Indications
You can learn the radio status through status icons and the LED indicator.

Call on Digital Channel
To ensure optimal voice quality on the receiving radio, keep the microphone about 2.5 cm to 5 cm away from your mouth during speaking.
Group Call
A group call is a call from an individual user in a group to all the other
members in the group.

Initiate a Group Call
- Through Preset Contact
- Rotate the Channel Selector knob to select the group contact preset for the digital channel.
- Press and hold the PTT key.
- Through Contact List
- Select the group contact according to 4.6 Select a Contact.
- Press and hold the PTT key.

Answer a Group Call
You can answer a group call without any operation. -
End a Group Call
A group call ends when the call hang time expires.
Private Call
A private call is a call from an individual user to another individual user.

Initiate a Private Call
- Through Preset Contact
- Rotate the Channel Selector knob to select the private contact preset for the digital channel.
- Press and hold the PTT key.
- Through Contact List
- Select the private contact according to 4.6 Select a Contact.
- Press and hold the PTT key.

Answer a Private Call
You can answer a private call without any operation. -
End a Private Call
A private call ends when the call hang time expires.
All Call
An all call is a call from an individual user to all the other users on the
current digital channel.

Initiate an All Call
- Through Preset Contact
- Rotate the Channel Selector knob to select the all call contact preset for the digital channel.
- Press and hold the PTT key.
- Through Contact List
- Select the all call contact according to 4.6 Select a Contact.
- Press and hold the PTT key.

Answer an All Call
You can answer an all call without any operation. -
End an All Call
An all call ends when the caller releases the PTT key.
Call on Analog Channel (Without Signaling)
On an analog channel without signaling, you can initiate a call to all the
other users on the channel.
- Rotate the Channel Selector knob to select an analog channel.
- Press and hold the PTT key.
Settings
Enter the Settings Interface
- On the home screen, press the OK/Menu key.
- Press the Up key or Down key to select Settings, and then press the OK/Menu key.
Lock the Keypad
You can lock the keypad to prevent misoperation.
- Auto Lock
1. In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Keypad Lock, and then press the OK/Menu key.
2. (Optional) In the Keypad Lock interface, do the following:

If the radio remains idle beyond the preset lock time, the keypad will be locked automatically.
- Manual Lock
- Press the preprogrammed Keypad Lock key.
- On the home screen, press the OK/Menu key, and then press the P1 key.
Set the Backlight
You can turn on the backlight to illuminate the LCD, which facilitates your
operation under dim light.
- In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Backlight, and then press the OK/Menu key.

Set the Silent Mode and Tones

Radio Silent
After Radio Silent is enabled, the radio does not produce tones for any operation. To enable or disable Radio Silent, do either of the following:-
Through Programmable Key
Press the preprogrammed Radio Silent key. -
Through Settings Interface
- In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Tones, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- In the Tones interface, select Radio Silent, and then press the OK/Menu key.

Tones
You can enable or disable tones for different operations.1 -
In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Tones, and then press the OK/Menu key.

In the Tones interface, select a service or operation, and then press the OK/Menu key.

Set the tone level, and then press the OK/Menu key.
Supplementary Services
VOX
Voice Activated Transmit (VOX) allows the voice to trigger transmission. When
the voice detected by the microphone reaches the value to trigger the
transmission, the radio automatically transmits the voice without the PTT key
pressed. VOX Gain preprogrammed by your dealer is used to control the
sensitivity of microphone transmission.
To enable or disable VOX, do either of the following:
- Press the preprogrammed VOX key.
- In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select VOX, and then press the OK/Menu key.
Power Level
Power Level allows you to set the TX power level to high or low. High power
enables communication with radios far away from you but consumes more battery
power. Low power enables communication with radios close to you and saves
battery power. To adjust the power level, press the preprogrammed Adjust Power
Level key.
Scan
Scan allows you to listen to activities on other channels, keeping track of
your team members.
To enable or disable Scan, do either of the following:
- Press the preprogrammed Scan key.
- In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Scan, and then press the OK/Menu key.
With Scan enabled, the radio scans according to the scan list preset for the current channel, during which the LED indicator flashes orange slowly. When detecting activities on a channel, the radio stays on the channel and the LED indicator glows green.
Squelch

Squelch Off
Squelch Off keeps the speaker unmuted regardless of whether carrier exists, during which the radio sounds background noise.
To enable or disable Squelch Off, do either of the following:-
Through Programmable Key
Press the preprogrammed Squelch Off key. -
Through Squelch Interface
- In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Squelch, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Select Squelch, and then press the OK/Menu key.

Squelch Level
Squelch Level refers to the squelch threshold required for the speaker of the radio to be turned on. The higher squelch level requires stronger signal.
To adjust Squelch Level, do either of the following:-
Through Programmable Key
Press the preprogrammed Adjust Squelch Level key. -
Through Squelch Interface
- In the Settings interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Squelch, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- (Optional) Set each squelch level.
- a. Select Level Setting, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- b. Select Open Level, Normal Level, or Tight Level, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- c. Select a level, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Select Squelch Level, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Select the Open, Normal, or Tight, and then press the OK/Menu key.
NOTE: Level Standard: Open < Normal < Tight

Scrambler
Scrambler allows the radio to invert the frequency spectrum of transmitted
audio signals. Only the receiving radio with the same Scrambler settings can
restore the audio signals. This prevents eavesdropping and ensures
communication privacy.
To enable or disable Scrambler, press the preprogrammed Scrambler key.
Monitor
Monitor allows the radio to receive more signals including weak signals, and
helps you to recognize weak voices in the speaker. To switch between Monitor
Squelch Mode and Receive Squelch Mode, press the preprogrammed Monitor key.
Talk Around
Talk Around allows you to continue communication in direct mode when the
repeater malfunctions or your radio is out of the coverage of the repeater. To
switch between Direct Mode and Repeater Mode, press the preprogrammed Talk
Around key.
BT
- CAUTION:
- To derive optimal communication quality, it is recommended that you use the BT devices approved by Hytera.
- If BT earpieces of other companies are used, you must use them with the wireless ring PTT of Hytera. Otherwise, transmission is unavailable through the earpieces.
BT enables the radio to connect to a BT device for short-distance communication and data exchange. To enter the BT interface, do the following:
- On the home screen, press the OK/Menu key.
- Press the Up key or Down key to select BT, and then press the OK/Menu key.
Enable BT
- Press the preprogrammed BT key.
- In the BT interface, press the Up key or Down key to select BT, and then press the OK/Menu key. After BT is enabled, the LED indicator flashes blue once every 3s.
Connect a BT Device
- Unpaired Device
1. Switch the BT device to the pairing status.
For details, refer to the User Manual of the BT device.
2. In the BT interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Auto Search, and then press the OK/Menu key.
3. Select the searched device, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Paired Device
1. In the BT interface, press the Up key or Down key to select Paired Device, and then press the OK/Menu key.
2. Select the device, and then press the OK/Menu key.
3. Select Pair, and then press the OK/Menu key.
Check the BT MAC Address
- In the BT interface, press the Up key or Down key to select My Device, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Select Hytera, and then press the OK/Menu key.
Set the Radio to Be Always Discovered
- In the BT interface, press the Up key or Down key to select My Device, and then press the OK/Menu key.
- Select Available, and then press the OK/Menu key.

Care and Cleaning
To guarantee optimum performance as well as a long service life of the product, follow the tips below.
Product Care
- Do not pierce or scrape the product.
- Do not drop the product.
- Keep the product far away from substances that can corrode the circuitry.
- Do not hold the product by the earpiece cable.
- Close the audio jack cover when no accessory is in use.
Product Cleaning
CAUTION: Turn off the product before cleaning.
- Clean up the dust and fine particles on the product surface with a clean and dry lint-free cloth or a brush regularly.
- Use neutral cleanser and non-woven fabric to clean the keys, knobs, and front case after long-time use. Do not use chemical preparations such as stain removers, alcohol, sprays, or oil preparations, so as to avoid surface case damage.
- Make sure that the product is completely dry before use.
Optional Accessories
CAUTION: Use the accessories approved by Hytera only. Otherwise, we will not
be liable for any loss or damage arising out of the use of unauthorized
accessories.
Contact your local dealer for the optional accessories used with the product.
